Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment delves into the evolution of mobile network technology by comparing 3G and 4G. It highlights the key differences in data bandwidth, packet switching techniques, network architecture, and error correction methods between the two generations. The assignment then analyzes the technological forces that drove the transition from 3G to 4G, such as the need for higher quality services, increased bandwidth, and improved data transfer capabilities. Furthermore, it predicts the future of cellular access technology over the next 5-10 years, anticipating the development of 7G and the integration of wireless technology with software and applications. The analysis also touches upon the expected changes in data transfer methods, network infrastructure, and the expansion of network coverage to meet the growing demands for mobile services.

Question
Difference between 3G and 4G, analyse what forces brought 4G into existence, and predict the
next steps (5-10 years) of cellular access technology.
Mobile technology is changing rapidly. It has created advancements in communication
network (Fagbohun, 2014). Through this, people are able to connect with each other in different
parts of the world. The G shows generation of mobile internet. Difference between 3 and 4 G is
described below :-
3G 4G
The data bandwidth is between 2 mbps to 21
mbps.
Here, data bandwidth ranges from 2 mbps to 1
gbps.
Packets switching technique is applied in
transfer of data.
Packets and message switching technique is
applied in transfer of data (Difference between
3G and 4G, 2017).
Network architecture consists of wide area cell
based.
In this there is integration of LAN and WAN
The errors are removed by using turbo codes Here, concatenated codes are used to remove
errors.
Handoff is horizontal It is vertical as well as horizontal.
Frequency band varies between 1.8 to 2.5 GHz In 4G it varies between 2 to 8 GHz
Technology and internet have provided a platform to connect to any part of world. The
continuous advancement in mobile network has created a strong communication channel. due to
this there is high rise in demand of smartphone and high quality services. thus, in order to fulfil
demand, it is necessary to modify current technology and network. Therefore, it is important to
invent wireless network through which services can be provided. Besides this, there are other
technological forces that led to rise in 4G described below :-
Low quality service- the 3G technology was efficient enough to provide services in wide areas.
Also, the quality that was delivered was very poor and low (Pfeiffer, 2015). So, this enforced in
developing a new medium or network through which range can be increased.

Low bandwidth- 3G technology was having low bandwidth and frequency range due to which
data packets was not delivered properly. This created disturbances and interruptions in
communication. Thus, in order to improve these two 4G wireless network was developed.
In coming 10 years, there will be a lot change in mobile network. it is expected that till
2025 7th generation will be developed. It will provide high quality services in wireless form.
With the help of this, high demand of services will be met.
Apart from this, 7 G will be highly advance mobile network. there will be new design and
development of services (Konovalov and Sychugov, 2018). Moreover, integration of
wireless technology with software and applications will develop a strong platform.
Besides this, telecommunication companies will use third parties to transfer data.
Message switching technique and infrastructure of network will completely change.
The transfer of data packets will be quick and smooth. There will be a specific flow of
data packets through which service can be delivered.
The range of network will be expanded in wide areas. It will enable people to
communicate with more flexibility and ease.
