The agriculture is one of the major industries for a country. It engages a large
percentage of the country however; the traditional means of farming was proving to be non-
efficient for the farmers and hence IT was introduced in the farming. The IT (Information
technology) has proved to be of great assistance for the farming. Another notable fact of IT in
the agriculture is that the most prominent factor that make the discussed association possible
is the internet. The impact of the internet in making the association of the IT and agriculture
will further enhance post introduction of the 5G. 5G abbreviated for fifth generation is the
latest offering by the internet which is capable of offering a high data transmission rate and
more stable connectivity. The impact of 5G on the agriculture industry is the discussion of the
portfolio.
BRAINSTORMING
The potential impact of 5G of the agriculture industry has been discussed as follows:
1. The farmers will be able to connect to the disruptive tools & techniques that are
capable of assisting in increasing the productivity of the agriculture industry with
assistance of 5G.
2. The agriculture industry can draw parallels from the food, wine and other relevant
industries to understand the use of 5G.
3. Internet of things together with the 5G internet will have a stronger impact on the
agriculture industry.
REGULATIONS & ETHICS

1. The law supports the use of Internet of things and 5G in the agriculture industry
because a well-structured set of protocols have been defined by the regulator bodies
for the use of internet and the Internet of Things.
2. The architecture of the 5G act as a constraint because the agriculture industry is
mostly located in the remote location where the architecture for the internet is weak
and hence may block the impact.
3. The market or economics will also act as constraint for the impact because of the
high cost involved in implementing the technologies in agriculture industry.
4. The ethics also acts as a constraint for the impact because internet and internet of
things have association with privacy & social threats that are unethical in nature.
DISRUPTION
The discussed scenario has taken the account of the monitoring of the planted crops in
the agriculture industry.
Before implementation of the 5G internet in the agriculture industry the things were
done manually where the only actor was the farmer. The events in organising are the farmer
manually develops the physical barrier for the protection of the crops and monitors the health
of the crops. Then the decision points that are part of the discussed process are the whether
the farmer should develop a physical barrier for the protection or hire a watchman. Secondly,
the decision point is the analysis of the plants. The outcome from the expected scenario is a
healthy crop.
