Purpose of the work group
This work plan is meant to help coordinate the tasks involved in volunteering operation
for a Muslim community service group that will take place for six months. It will help in
planning for time, scheduling and management.
Introduction and background
This is a Muslim organization that serves to offer free services to the community through
volunteerism. The organization operates under the culture of service to society and volunteerism.
The service to humanity in the organization is taken to be a fundamental ethical value that is
normally embraced by every Muslim. It is based on their understanding that a common humanity
is shared among all people who have an obligation of working together towards life
improvement and fulfillment of the tasks that are offered to them. The engagement in community
service offers the volunteers with an opportunity of becoming active members in the
communities they come from and has a long-term positive impact on the society in general. Thus
community service through volunteerism enables the participants to acquire knowledge and life
skills besides providing services to the people who need them most.

members to coordinate the group’s activities. Other activities will take place as given in the tasks
above. The group will be registered for legal procedures and involve the support of the local
Muslim religious leaders and chief. Consultation will be made to these stakeholders.
