A very good morning to all present here. Today, I am going the present my poster on ‘The 7
Habits of Highly Effective People’; focussing on the seventh habit i.e. Sharpening the Saw.
Sharpening the Saw is all about work smartly to achieve peace for self. Sharpening the Saw
has 4 dimensions of self renewal namely Physical, Social / Emotional, Mental and Spiritual.
Let us first look into Physical aspect in Sharpening the Saw. It relates to the physical body
health. The goals are to eat healthy food and do a lot of exercise. The personal objectives to
achieve them are to avoid sugar and oily food and run at least 10km daily. The next aspect is
mental health of the Body (Brett & •, 2019). Here, we define the personal goals to be
teaching and reading. Teaching at NGOs and reading good motivational biographies would
help improve mental health. The third aspect would be social & emotional dimension. Here,
the goal is to make new friends and join a sports club. The objective will be to join a social
media community and play cricket for 2 hours daily. And finally we look upon the last
dimension i.e. spiritual dimension which relates to sense of purpose in life. The personal
goals will be to spend time with nature and do meditation. However, the objectives would be
to meditate and do yoga daily along with activities like bird watching or a trek in the forest.
Hence, this summarises the poster on ‘Sharpening the Saw’ (COVEY, 2018).
