faster and in an effective manner. The habit ‘Begin with the End in Mind’ emphasizes on the
practice of what one wants to be and how to do it. The habit places emphasis upon creating a
personal mission statement for the goal they want to achieve.
One goal I have been trying to achieve in my life since long is to loose weight and
instil a fit regime. To accomplish this goal in my life, I need to incorporate the habit 2 of
Begin with the End in Mind’ by Stephen Covey. (Covey, 2013 ) The habit claims that one
should start each day with a clear vision of the goal to achieve. To facilitate the same, I would
hung the posters of celebrities who are fit so that I have a visual goal in my mind all the time.
The visual goal will help me to be passionate about losing weight and not let me meander
away from the path of fit regime that I have adopted. The vision of reaching the desired result
will keep me focused on my goal and also enable me to gather the necessary resources and
energy to proactively work towards achieving the target.

Habit 3: Put First Things First
Stephen Covey in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has mentioned
the habit of ‘Put First Things First’. The habit states that one needs to be aware and prioritize
their goals and mission in life based upon what they want to achieve and the desired goal they
want to reach.
The most important ingredient to be successful in any task in life is to have a proper
management of time. If the time is not managed properly or effectively, it could lead to the
missing of deadlines, and will badly reflect on my professional competency. First and
foremost, I will start putting reminders in the form of things-to-do and alarm notification, for
the deadline and tasks to be accomplished. ("Time Management: 10 Strategies for Better
Time Management", 2019) The reminder will help me to remind me about my goals and the
tasks to be achieved. Next, the energy will be focused upon planning and preparing for the
task. The gathering of resources and chalking out a plan for the task will be carried out. Once
the planning and preparation of the task is completed, the next step will be to ensure that the
task is being executed as per the plan, and there is no deviation from the set course. If any
deviation is noticed, adequate measures and corrective actions should be taken so as to stick
to the planning done. By following the above activity, I will be able to meet all my deadlines,
and accomplish the desired result or goal set for my professional career.
