Question 1:
Australian computer society (ACS) code of ethics is the part of the constitution in which as a
member of an organization, it is required to maintain dignity, effectiveness and honour to be
a professional. Act within the law and follow the rules of society. The current issue is about
the senior programmer of a bank who noticed some midnight transactions that not affected
the bank money. This process was continuing for thirteen months and in resultant, the
programmer caught and found guilty and jailed for ten and a half year. But after reviewing
the paper again the case was closed. The ACS 4cide of ethics include some social values like,
 Importance of the public interest: this section includes the private, personal and
sectional interest to resolve different issues. It identifies the impacted work that is
like, transactions in the bank and raises the conflict of users and system.
 Enhancement of the quality of life: this factor impact on the society and way of life
and its impact has beneficial for the organization. Use the ethical approach to enhance
the quality of work.
 Competence: check the skills or the members and provide them with opportunities to
increase the production. It used to accept the responsibilities of the workflow.
 Honesty: the key factor in professional life and create trust in the stakeholders. Make
different between professional and personal things and give credit to work done by
the people.
 Professional development: always aware of new technologies and standards that are
used in daily work. Continue increase skills and knowledge with the awareness and
relationship with the public.
 Professionalism: implement new technologies for changes with new standards.
Improve the confidence with the professional standards and take calm to complete the
work (as, 2014).
Apply the code of conduct or code of ethics on the programmer and the bank by the police or
the organization for the violated the code of conduct. For the Mr Inside Hack or programmer,
follow the process that maintains the company values. Dismiss the candidate from his duty
and apply penalties for the misconduct. That process can start with a warning in case it can
detect at the start.
Consequences or the actions for the bank is starts from warning with the witness name,
documentation process. These documentations include statements and witness name of the

legal process. Police actions are not satisfactory for the programmer and bank. The bank
should be fine as well as programmer fine with the total money what he theft from the
transfer from the bank system.
The bank should be checking its transaction regular basis as well as apply security on the
transaction system that required a code during the money transaction. This code should be
getting from the manager and have access to 2-3 person in the organization (Asc, 2014).
