Title
Current research is being based on analysing the conditions of the growing teenage knife crime
in UK. Study will be based on the perspective of growing knife crime and also teenagers are
being killed. With this, knife crime in UK has been described as the national crisis.
Background to the Research
Current research is based on elaborating the problem of increasing knife crime in UK. Knife
crimes are mainly increasing and the crimes occur for the reasons of murder, threats to kill,
assault, robbery, rape, etc. Also in knife crimes teenagers are also being killed due to personal
reasons. Teenage knife crime is being increasing and popularly it is being taking place around
schools, around home, park or open space, etc. Victims are generally living in the same country
and current threat is being revolving around the people with such trend of crime in UK. There are
families that are reeling with the loss of their teenage children as 93% of the young children are
being targeted by knife (BBC news about knife crime, 2018). However, the problem is getting
worse and is increasing in the parts of UK and with this government need to keep strict control
and safety within the areas of school, parks, etc.
Statement of the Problem
Concerned research analyses the problem of rising teenage knife crime in the parts of UK. The
problem is growing with the time and even teenagers are carrying sharp objects along with them.
Current research aims to analyse the impact of growing teenage knife crime within the country.
Research also helps to develop understanding of increasing level of knife crimes (Muncie, 2014).
Research Questions
In order to develop current understanding of the research it is necessary to carry out the research
on the basis of different research questions. These questions are elaborated below:
At what percentage the teenage knife crime is being increasing in UK?
What are the causes of teenage knife crime within the country?

Who majorly are the targets of such knife crime?
What are the possible recommendations through which the crime can be controlled in
UK?
Literature Review
According to the reports of The Guardian, (2018), currently in 2019 among 10 teenagers are
being killed because of the attacks of such knife crime. Half of about knife crime offenders in
London are the teenagers of even the younger children. As per the police statistics, 41% of them
are being caught for knife crime across the London boroughs and mainly they are aged from 15
to 19. Also, 8% are younger still, ranging from 10 to 14. Killings are being of greater concern
about the way in which Londoners are being a caught in the knife crime. According to the
national statistics it showed that 14, 987 offences were being identified in June 2018. But the
percentage has been increased about 8% rise that includes 83 knife killings and 161 rapes of
sexual assaults carried with the help of blade (Lugo-Ocando and Faria Brandão, 2016).
The above stated data is being recorded and some of the cases are left from the reach of media.
However, the impact of such crime is mainly motivating children to commit crime to achieve
anything. As per Smith, (2012) this need to be controlled else the children would have the
powers to perform illegal activities and in the need of anything they will show the fear of knife.
Increasing lifestyle of the people has created the feeling of jealous among the children. In the
attitude of taking revenge for personal disputes, children are carrying sharp objects and also
teenagers are being killed.
Since the police forces have been lodging more violent forces because of some advanced
technology more is needed to be identified to reduce the number of crimes. Worryingly the
involvement of young people is growing and this is needed to be controlled for the betterment of
the country. In addition, government is paying attention towards increasing security of the places
and also children are being checked in the school (Moore, 2014). Also fine is imposed of
carrying the sharp objects. This might reduce the percentage of increasing crime and also protect
the teenagers.

Methodology
Introduction
Research is being defined as the activities to carry out the suitable data and the information on
the suitable topic. It is also concerned with collecting the material outcomes of the research.
There are different methods, tools and techniques that are being used to complete the research.
The suitability and nature of the research depends on the choice of correct method applied in the
research. Also the research is being carried with keeping in mind the limitations and ethics of the
research.
Research type
There are generally two types of research and it fits with different topics and nature of the
research. This includes both quantitative and qualitative type of research. Current research will
apply qualitative kind of research as it matches with the nature of the research. This is effective
to have the theoretical analysis of the suitable topic and also effective analysis can be done with
collecting data with the suitable source (Kumar, 2019).
Data collection
There are different kinds of data collection matching with the suitability of the research. This
includes both primary and secondary data collection. Primary research is being collected with the
help of fresh sources that includes questionnaire, survey, etc. This is one of the raw and fresh
collections of data. On the other hand, secondary data is being collected with the help of books,
journals, articles, etc. These are generally the second hand sources (Mackey and Gass, 2015).
Currently, the data would be collected with the help of secondary data to have the theoretical
analysis of the data.
Data analysis
The collected data would be analysed through the secondary sources as books, journals, articles
and other online sources would be used effectively to collect the data. On the other hand, after
collection of data, thematic analysis would be performed where analysis would be divided on the
basis of different themes.

Limitations
Researcher needs to keep in mind the cost and time available for completion of the research.
Also data collection is needed to be corrected and verified and secondary sources might lead to
wrong and confusing results. Also researcher is time bound to complete the research on time.
