INTRODUCTION
Social and Health care is a kind of service which are provided by Social and Health Care
Providers. It comes under the head of “Human Services” in United Kingdom (UK). Abbots Care
Ltd. is a privately owned organization who work for those person who are facing learning
disability. It was established in year 1995. Since then, it is leading human service provider in
UK. Today, It has 500 care takers. Report will highlight organizational structure and
organizational culture. It also tell about the impact of structure on culture in organization. It will
describe about the changes that will improves the organization.
TASK 1
Structure Of The Organization
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE – Organizational structure means the framework in
which an organization conduct its activities like task allocation, communication, reporting
system, fulfilment of duties and responsibilities, managing work in line of authority etc.
Organizational structure is basically depend upon the objectives of organization (Palmer and
Biggart, 2017).
Abbots Care Ltd. Follow Functional Top Down Organizational Structure. This structure
is also known as Hierarchical Organization Structure. In this structure, whole work is divided
into similar types of jobs and than according to the jobs, departments (like – Administration
Department, Finance Department, Customer Service Department, Laboratory Department,
Human Resource Department, Service Department, Medical Records Department, Management
Department, Information Technology Department, Marketing Department) are made. For
department management, specialized manager who experts in that field is hire. Under this
manager, Employer, Employees, Supervisors and Leaders are hire who help the manager to
achieve departmental objectives. In this structure, 2 objectives are tried to be achieve –
Organizational Structure and Departmental Structure. Here, communication flow chart will be up
and down. Reporting system will also be in flow of up and down. Task allocation is done by
departmental managers (Young and Ghoshal, 2016.).

The reason behind this structure is to be follow by Abbots Care Ltd. Are -
In Functional organization structure, employees have skills and knowledge about that field in
which they are working. This lead to work effectively and efficiently. This will reduces the costs
to manage the operations and to carry out the services. This also increases the productivity of
employees. Employees know their duties and responsibilities. Also, allocation of tasks become
easy for managers. It also increases the operational speed as well as operational efficiency. This
all lead to enhance in high morale and satisfaction level of employees. It makes co-ordination
and communication between employees – employers easy, clear and understandable. This will
improve the service quality and give better results. Also, managerial efficiency too increased.
Thus, these all lead department to achieve its departmental objectives on time and effectively
()Winnubst, 2017.
Identification Of Organizational Culture
ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE – Organizational Culture is an organizational system
in which values, philosophies, experiences, beliefs and assumptions drives employees that how
to behave and how to react (Kasemsap, 2017). It also helps the company to achieve its mission,
vision, goals and objectives. Every person with different culture, working in organization are
different. Thus, organizational environment is also different due to organizational culture. It also
plays an important role in the organization (Driskill, 2018).

11 CLAN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE - In this culture, Organizational environment is
friendly. Here, all the members considered to be whole organization as family. Managers,
leaders and supervisors are seen as mentor. Also, they take care of employees need and
considered them a factor of successful organization. Team spirit is strong. Management
promotes participation. It enhances the morale and satisfaction level of employees.

1 ADHOCRACY ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE In this culture, Organizational
environment is creative. Here, employees are believed in taking risks and finding news
solutions for the problems. Leaders, Managers and supervisors are seen as Innovative.
Also, they motivated employees to do something innovative. It enhances the confidence
level and freedom of employees to do something new (4 Types of Organizational
Culture, 2019).

1 MARKET ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE In this culture, organizational
environment is competitive. Employees and employers both are focused and tried to
achieve the organizational goals to gain competitive advantages. Here, success and
goodwill are considered as important factors. Their main objectives are to earn profits,
increase market shares and achieve organizational goals.

1 HIERARCHY ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE In this culture, organizational
environment is traditional and formal, where every work is done in structured framework
decided by organization. Rules, regulations and policies are the reason behind the
togetherness of organization departments. They believe in smooth operation of business.
Their main focus is just to earn profits and rectify the error, if any mistakes are make.
Abbots Care Ltd.'s organizational culture is Hierarchy Organizational Culture
(Gordon, 2017).
Impact Of The Organizational Structure On The Organizational Culture
Organizational structure and organizational culture are interrelated to each other and both
the terms are directly linked to the organizational performance and its objectives. These two
term influenced each other in many way and that is how an organization shapes up. The strong
relationship between these two terms are beneficial for company to achieve its organizational
goals, values and objectives.

ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE -
Abbots Care Ltd. Organizational structure directly impact the organizational culture. If
there is any change in structure so it would also bring change in organizational culture. The
impact can be positive or negative. Suppose organizational structure of Abbots Care Ltd. is
proper which means employees know about the company policy, whom to report, what are their
duties and responsibilities and communication system is open. These all lead to employees to
work proper with on time. This will boost their confident, enhance their productivity and they are
able to achieve their goals. This all create satisfied employees by whom employers will be
happy. This will lead to boost their relationship and create better organizational environment,
which create good organizational culture where employees values, experiences and perception
towards company and employers is good. Like this, organizational structure positively impact
organizational cultural (Organizational Structure and Culture Change, 2019). Suppose Abbots
Care Ltd. structure is dysfunctional like employees don't get proper training or employees are
placed on wrong job or employee's promotion is done on the basis of bias or communication
system is closed or policy is tight and unclear to follow. These all lead to create conflict in the
organization, decrease in morale, productivity and capability of the employees. This will lead to
dissatisfaction and irritation, which impact the culture of organization as employees behaviour,
values and perception will change for organization and employers. This all lead the organization
to give poor social and health care to the person. Like this, Structure impact culture negatively
(Harper, 2015).
Identification Of Two Potential Changes To Improve Provision Of Organization
In Abbots Care Ltd., there is TIMING PROVISION ISSUE as no one is on zero hour
contract. It means employees are continuously working. This lead to decrease in his/her working
capability and productivity. They will be tired all the time and deprived from sleep. Also, they do
not manage proper balance between his/her work-life balance. This all lead him/her
dissatisfaction and distraction from work. Even, if they do work, service quality will not be at
satisfaction level. This will lead to organization to distract from its goals. Thus, Company should
change its timing policy. They should implement shifting timing provision, in which some
employers and employees will do day shifting while another will do evening shifting. This

shifting should be co-ordinated so that employees can do their work without any tension and
peacefully. This will improve the quality of services as well.
`In Abbots Care Ltd., there is another issue. That is WORK PRESSURE ISSUE, as
included in the case study, Myra Bell, who is health care manager, is engaged with paperwork
and do not consult the patient and family. A manger is considered to be fully skilled in their
work, have experiences and knowledge in their field and easily attract the consumers. If Myra
continue to engaged in paperwork, this will lead to waste talent as well as lost of patient.
Because, every patient want the best and Myra is best in this field. Thus, organization should
change in its delegation of authority provision so that Myra can delegated his/her work to
trustworthy employee and focus on consultation of patients so that results can improves and
organization can grow. Also, by delegation, Myra can focus on another important work which
require his/her attention. This will improve the efficiency of organization (Drummond and et.al.,
2015).
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been summarized that In organization, Chosen of
organization structure should be carefully and properly because it decides the values, perceptions
and behaviour of employees which create organizational cultural. Organizational cultural should
be creative and friendly so that employees can grow and satisfied. There should be clear
understanding of interrelationship between organizational structure and organizational culture.
Also, there should be timely changes in the organization according to the requirements so that
employees, employers, managers and teams work properly and helps organization to achieve its
goals and objectives.
