Business case review
The paper mainly reflects on ABC corporation which is a medium sized manufacturer of
specialized test equipment. It is found that recently, the company came under huge pressure from
both the global as well as regional competitors and therefore the executives have reduced
competitive inroads within the key markets by increasing the revenue by 15% per year by
effectively expanding the ability of the firm to respond to new market. For achieving such goals,
the management committee have mainly decided to improve its competitive advantage by
winning a greater number of sales deals as well as by increasing appeal of new products.
Project culture
The culture of the team is mainly made up with proper beliefs, values as well as
behaviours that are shared by the project team and entire team is very much united therefore,
they will handle the work of the project effectively for resolving the hurdles.
Project structure
It is found that the project utilizes matrix stricture where proper functions are generally
maintained in a proper management structure where the project related work is carried out in

Challenges
It is found that the project team are much skilled and experienced and therefore they can
face a lot of challenges in improving the competitive advantage of the organization effectively.
They need much more time in comparison to experienced staffs to handle conflicting situation
and thus it can create negative impact on the project.
Uncertainty
It is analyzed from the business case that the primary risk is due to the GKB project
failure and it is generally considered as a medium risk. Secondly, the security breaches are also
considered as a risk but they are considered as low risk. It is found that though intranet solutions
are much more prone to different types of security breaches in comparison to client server and
therefore the architectural design helps including state of the art security features which helps in
minimizing the risks quite significantly.
Scope, time and cost
It is found that the project will follow the scope and as a result the objectives of the
project will get accomplished within the time and cost that is estimated irrespective of other
hurdles.
Positive and negative impact
It is found that by undertaking the work of the project quite effectively, the organization
will be able to improve the engineering related productivity as well as loyalty which are
considered to be quite advantageous for the intranet GKB related solution. The benefits are
further helpful in improving the quality as well as the quantity of the products efficiently. It also
helps in increasing the competitive advantages as well as revenue of the entire organization quite
effectively. Furthermore, it is analyzed from the business case that IRR for the intranet related
GKB solution will be around 109%. On the other hand, it is found that within the project, it is
quite necessary for the management to make GKB related decision effectively within the next 30
days of time and the cost that occurs due to delay in decision will be around $50,000 monthly.
This further negatively impacts the competitive advantage of the organization and further delays
the revenue of the project which is considered to be the top goal of the organization.
Recommendation
After analyzing the entire business case, it is found that the development of GKB
solutions within the ABC corporation not only helps in increasing competitive advantage but
also assits in improving the quality and quantity of the product that is delivered. As with the help
of these project, the top goals of the organization achieved therefore the business case must be

properly approved and must be undertaken by the ABC corporations. Furthermore, it is analyzed
that the document of business case that is developed is also helpful in forming the basis of the
project management system.
