INTRODUCTION
Torres islander are recognised as the people those who comes from islands. Aboriginals
Australians are those people who are the members of aboriginal race of Australia. The various
issues or challenges faced by these indigenous group of people include poorer health, lack of
education as well as employment opportunities. In addition to these, people who are the members
of aboriginal race of Australia have to face negative social attitude. Therefore, in order to protect
both Aboriginals and Torres islander from discrimination, government have implemented some
legislations these are kingship system and Torres Strait islander law
The report have focus on analysing the significance of Torres Strait islander law and
kingship system.
MAIN BODY
Kingship is considered to be as very much important especially for indigenous people. As
these system supports indigenous people in developing relationship with other people. There are
few researchers who argues hat there is evidence of the early practice of both agriculture and
aquaculture by Aboriginal peoples. The kingship system was implemented by the government in
the nation for regulating the interpersonal behaviour. Kingship is recognised as a system of
social relationships expressed in a biological terms (Loos, 2017.). It provides guild lines related
to expected behaviour. Kinship system is crucial in order to maintain peace as well as avoid
conflicts. It is also important in order to promote the development of cultural relationship (Grant
and Greenop, 2018). This system also encourages sharing. It helps in creating as well as
sustaining bonds between people residing in one nation but belonging to different culture.
Kinship system is also important for promoting unity and equality which is very much crucial for
growth of society as well as country. Kinship is thus brought with it a set of obligations that an
individual has to perform when relating to others. These obligations form a part of Aboriginal
Law (Dance, Guthrie and Tongs, 2018).
Customary law can be defined as principles as well as process which has been formulated
considering a custom of people or nations. Torres islander law is important in order to prevent
family violence (Salmon,Williams and Lovett, 2018). Torres islander law governs the social
interaction, particularly marriage, in traditional Australian Aboriginal cultures. These laws are
important in order to resolve disputes within indigenous societies. This law assist in maintaining
respect between certain classes of people or between relatives.

CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the report that kinship program is very much important in
order to maintain peace as well as unity. Study has also concluded that Torres islander law is
crucial in order to prevent family violence. Both Kinship system and Torres islander law helps in
promoting equality and aids in eliminating the discrimination among people.
