ABORIGINALS AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDERS
Australia is one of the most diversified country, with people from all across the world.
It has come to my notice that, approximately 250 different forms of dialect are found in the
country, enriching the culture of the country. However, the most diversified and the most
unique cultural groups are the natives of the country. The Australian aboriginals and the
Torres Strait Islanders are considered as the natives of the country, though the two cultural
group are quite distinct in their orientation and in their culture. However, while pursuing my
studies in Australia, I had often come across the native Australians. They are much different
from the people of the main land, and the beauty likes in their culture and in their cordiality.
While researching it came to my notice that there are a traditional group and is completely
dependent upon the forest to continue their lifestyle. However, they have certain specificities
in their nature, for example they have tattoos and scars all over their bodies, which distinct
them from the Torres Strait Islanders. One of the most exceptional feature of this culture
group is that they have a concept of autopsy, and they create beautiful artefacts with the
remaining skeletons. This may be eerie, but this is a part of their culture. The Torres Strait
islanders are also very similar; however, their livelihood is mostly dependent upon the fishing
and other subsistence lifestyle. Lastly, it came to my notice that they have a very rich culture,
which can be termed by tribal, as they make beautiful artefacts with the forest residues.
Both these culture groups are stay afar from the main land of the country, and were
previously abandoned by the government of the same, however, recently, the government has
of the country has recognized the need and significance to include them within the socio-
political and cultural life of the country.
