1ABORTION
Abortion is demarcated as the process that is used to end the pregnancy through the
expulsion or removal of the fetus before it can endure outside the uterus on its own (Faúndes &
Miranda, 2017). It is illegal in many terms, but if it is performed for any genuine cause, it is said
to be legal. Hence, by considering the ethical dilemma associated with it, I chose abortion as my
topic.
According to Marquis (2017), there are many ethical dilemmas associated with abortion.
Some researcher states that aborting a child is against the moral values of the human being as the
fetus also have some moral certainty and should not be performed at any cause, whereas the
others argue that if the pregnancy is detected to be harmful to mother or for a fetus, abortion
should be performed.
As per Savulescu and Schuklenk (2017), medical science has a different perspective
regarding abortion. They understood that abortion in some instances is necessary, and if not
performed, it can lead to various adverse effect in future. For example, in many cases, abortion is
done when the child has been detected with any genetic or physiological disorder, hence if in that
case abortion is avoided, it can only provide extra financial burden on the family till the child
survives due to the disease. Hence to avoid such condition abortion is adopted as a safe choice.
However, the ethical dilemma related to abortion still exists, and there are lots of arguments
associated with it.
