ENGLISH ESSAY
Section B:
1. Decisions are driven by emotions than logic most of the time. People take decisions
emotionally rather than rationally.
2. According to Taleb, human beings are emotional creatures when it comes to avoiding
danger.
This standpoint affects our behavior in many ways. For example, people often don’t
remember that diabetic patients should avoid sweets. However, if there near and dear ones fall
sick or have a heart attack then they understand that they should be careful too. Hence, once a
person is struck emotionally he or she accepts the fact more readily.
3. It consists of a one sentence question because even after the attack of September 11,
the effects of the attack were sporadic.
4. The author tries to say that we humans do not give attention to calamities and accidents
if the number of lives lost is less. People pay attention to accidents and disasters only when
humongous numbers of people die.
It is ironic because, nobody notices if a person has an accident. People are only alerted
when a large number of people succumb to death.
5. People were killed even after the attacks of September 11, indirectly because after the
catastrophe people started travelling in cars. This increased accidents from automobiles.
Unfortunately, more people were killed than those who were killed by the attack. But no one
reported the news of the car accidents as people felt it was not important.

ENGLISH ESSAY
Yes, I agree because humans do not understand the severity of a situation until and unless
it happens to a larger number of people.
Section C:
Dishonesty does not build up a strong character. A dishonest person cannot be trusted by
anyone. People might find comfort in being dishonest but it will not help in the long run as lies
spread like wildfire. Dishonesty can never give a person a peaceful mind.
People who are honest they don’t have to live with guilt and regrets. It is important to be
trustworthy and genuine in a world, which is full of forgery and corruption. An honest man
always ends up building stronger relationships than a dishonest person. People’s lives and
relationships gets ruined by lies. In today’s world becoming dishonest is easy, the real challenge
is to remain true to ourselves and having a good character. A world full of dishonest people will
leads to conflicts and confusion. The very fabric of human civilization will crumble if dishonesty
prevails over truth. People who take the path of dishonesty will never feel secure and safe.
Honesty is valuable in every sphere of life. A person who constantly tells lies is in no way in the
good books of others. A person should not use dishonesty as a shield to protect themselves from
pain or make things look presentable. One should never forget that in the end only truth prevails.
People find out about lies and liars. So, “honesty is always the best policy”.
