integrity is the one of most essential quality of an individual. An individual having academic
integrity would tend to be the most trustworthy individual whether the individual is at college or at
organization or at the workplace (Bretag, 2016). People will tends to have more faith on individual
having academic integrity. Thus, in this report it has been discussed the academic plagiarism as well
as for the academic integrity. Moreover, we have also discussed the various advantages associated
with academic integrity in this report.
Academic Plagiarism
Academic plagiarism is the situation which occurs when the writer of the file repeatedly used
words from any printed source without the usage of quotation mark & an actual reference to
original source for the task presented as an author of own research's & scholarship's. Copying &
pasting of portion of a text document, borrowing information, buying papers online, improper
referencing & citation, following of authors' writing style too closely, falling to properly integrate
the work & unauthorized collaboration of assignments are the various forms of plagiarism (Raines,
2016).
Academic integrity & its relevance to professionalism in business environment
Academic integrity means always doing the right thing, even if no one is looking at the individual.
Thus, this means upholding the policies of academic honestly set forth by the college or university.
Academic integrity means individual must do its work by its own, even if its friend offers to help it
on taking home exam. Writing its own papers properly by citing on resources, undergoing online
quiz without taking the help of friends & textbooks, depending on the type of quiz. Moreover,
academic integrity also means to report the authority if the individual suspected someone cheated
on exams or on some other assignments (Kwong and et.al, 2018).
Students with high levels of integrity will tends to work hard for earning their academic degrees in
fair & honest way. Such students complete their assignment honesty by putting efforts on hours of
studies. When a student tends to clear the exam just by cheating then all of its moral get diminished.
This will eventually decrease its credibility at the workplace moreover it will have great impact on
its professional goals. Just for instance, no one want to get treated by the doctor who got its medical
degree through cheating.
People with no academic integrity are more likely to be dishonest, cheater & even commit crimes
such as stealing or fraud at the workplace.
Thus, academic integrity means having belief in standards & principles of the community &
ensuring that the individuals' behaviour must be consistent with those standards & principles.

Importance of academic integrity.
There are several reasons for which academic integrity is important.
If the individual is having the academic integrity then the individual will be more likely to be
trusted by others. The people would easily rely on the individual having integrity as the people
know the individual will act honesty and will definitely do the work which was assigned to it.
Moreover, as the people know that the individual will do the right thing , they will remain consistent
with their belief, & will trust the individual having academic integrity.
Additionally, for leaders trust is the key characteristic (Mullins and et.al, 2017). Therefore,
individuals with academic integrity has a very good reputation of being trustworthy, fair & honest.
Thus, the individuals which are successful in their business has the good knowledge of the benefits
of acting with integrity.
It is fact, that the world is totally dependent on the ability of an individual to trust other individual.
Meanwhile, in the college, development of good ethical habits for an individual would help it in
entering the workplace easily & could able to face various ethical issues easily which happens in the
most of the certain cases.
The value of the educational degree gets enhanced with the academic integrity. This could be the
another advantage to academic integrity. It is very common in an organization that the recruiters
tends to hire the candidates which the recruiters believe that the candidate is having the higher
personal integrity. Thus, it is the belief of any organization or business to invest in human capital of
an individual whom they think will give positive influence on the company & the individual would
be so trustworthy that it will carry out the company's missions efficiently & effectively.
One of the greatest advantage or the benefit of academic integration is it gives peace of mind to an
individual by keeping it knowing that the things it is doing are the right things. Thus, the individual
tends to act consistently with such beliefs of doing always right.
One of the another benefit of a person with academic integration is it reduces a lot of unnecessary
stress of the individuals' life. This reduction in unnecessary stress will eventually result in making
the individual healthier, mote happier as well as more productive.
Integrity helps in bringing the new ideas to an individuals' life as it lets the person marking the
individuals work to check what influences the individual for its idea. Integrity also helps the
individual for getting path to built new knowledge. Integrity enables the individual to give essential
credit to the person whose ideas & information the individual has used (Sutherland-Smith, 2015).
