INTRODUCTION
Academic Skills are effective strategies which applied to the learning. It helps in boosting
individuals capability to retail, recall and study information. This study will highlight on
reflecting on the own skills in order to study will confidence and improve academic skills.
MAIN BODY
A. Reflecting on the skills developed.
I have critically evaluated that, I have learnt and developed note – taking capabilities.
This helps in writing down the key points in my own writing in order to understand particular set
of information. This is very useful in improving better understanding on the subject matter and
also helps at the time of examination. Planning in advance helps in scheduling all the activities
which are to be completed beforehand. This in turn helps in completing all the academic task and
also helps in studying with confidence by planning each task from starting to the end to attain
academic goals and objectives. I have learnt to use data from electronic and online sources. I
have also developed skills associated with the plagiarism. It tends to occur when the writer tends
to repeatedly use more than 4 words from the original source on internet. The individual shall
focus on avoiding plagiarism in order to de liver quality and original work to the professor. I
have also learnt to review various sources of information in order to collect true and relevant
information from the sources. I have determined various primary and secondary sources from
where data can be collected which mainly includes experiments, diaries, interviews, reports,
manuals, government documents, newspaper, study material, etc. I have also learnt about
building bibliography where they tend to focus on listing various range of sources that is very
useful in explaining the relevance of the particular research paper. It helps the reader in building
a framework which helps in demonstrating how particular argument has been formed.
B. Skills to develop.
Communication skills
I have critically evaluated that, I need to work on effectively improving my
communication skills (Travers, Morisano and Locke, 2015). It helps in effectively sharing
different set of information from one person to the another in order to make better understanding
on the subject matter. Development of effective communications skills helps in speaking clearly
and concisely with the large number of people. It is very useful in relaying various sets of
opinions and ideas for better decision making and attainment of goals.

Essay and report writing skills
I have also developed essay and report writing skills in order to effectively structure the
document which in turn helps in precisely describing the particular event. Effective report
document must be well structured, to the point, precise, etc. I have to learn to make a key outline
and also focuses on better understanding associated with basic style, grammar, vocabulary and
punctuation. I have evaluated that, I need to focus on using credible sources in order to make
sure that the data is collected from valid and authentic sources. This is one of the most
fundamental part of the academic study which helps in future goals and objectives.
Time Management skill
I have also analysed that I have to build the Time management skill (Rashed, Guo and
Guan, 2019). The reason behind the same is that we have to attend and learn more than one
subject in a day. Time management skill will help me in scheduling all the subject in the properly
and getting best out of all.
Revision strategy
Revision strategy is the another thing which has to be developed by me to get best out of
what I have learned. The reason behind developing the same is that as explained already I have
to learn the variety of the subject on regular basis. So after some period it gets difficult to
memorize the past learning. Revision strategy will help me to memorize the same in the future.
C. Challenges of Studies and ways to overcome same
Theoretical learning
There are many challenges which is faced by me at the time of studying. The biggest of
all is to link the theoretical learning with the reality to develop the better understanding about the
learning. This creates the situation that I used to become some sort of confuse to understand the
learning. To overcome the same issue I will be taking the help of the tutor to understand the what
does the text in real means. This will eventually help me in improving the effectiveness of the
learning.
Memorizing Skill
Another challenge which is faced by me is to memorising the learning for the longer
period of time. This eventually used to create the situation in which I used to find it difficult to
link the current learning of mine with the past learning. To improve the same I will try to make

the key notes of all the learning which will be gained by me during the studies. At the time of
learning I will try to note the specific note or highlighting the important part. On the basis of the
same I would be reading all the notes to memorize the learning which was gained by me in the
past.
Scheduling
Another challenge which was faced by me is in scheduling the learning in such a way that
I am able to gained the learning about all the subject. This used to create the situation where I
used to lack behind in one or the another subject. To overcome the same challenge I will be
making the schedule of my studies on the weekly basis, which will be developed on the basis of
the evaluation of the studies which has been done and which has to be done in the future. This
will help me in looking at the current situation of mine in the studies.
CONCLUSION
After going through the report it has been summarized that library and electronic resources need
to be use by proper planning and note taking. After that the report has summarized that there are
many skill which need to be developed by me for improve the effectiveness of the studies. In the
end the report has summarized that memorizing, scheduling and linking the study with the
reality.
