Introduction
Academic skills and the skills required for the fulfilment of job role is the core for successful
employment. Every person need to develop own time management as well as communication
skills to fulfil the expectations of the employer. This study will shed light on the academic and
employability skills. The basic academic skills that will be considered for this study are research
methods, referencing techniques, and academic writing skills. Excellent oral communicational
skill, potential teamwork efforts as well as time management skills are the employability skills.
In this study, the gaps in skills will be discussed along with the ways of mitigating these gaps for
achieving success in career.

Research methods
Research method is an essential aspect in content writing (Bell et al., 2018). The efficiency of the
research methods portrays the quality of the content. Focus on intricate details while researching
a topic helps in prevention of losing the directed path of the topic. Researching forms the base of
the content in my organisation. Learning from the module has helped me in developing efficient
ways to research a certain topic and reflect them on my writing. The module has also taught me
to gather authentic sources in the research process to avoid the inclusion of falsehoods in my
content, hampering the quality of it.
Writing skill
The excellence of my writing skill has helped me in proving the efficiency of my words and the
refined understanding of verbally exchanged information. The clarity of the problem
understanding and the intelligence to solve the problem is reflected in my work through my
writing skills. My grasp on the vocabulary helps me in the enhancement of my content. The
pattern in which I portray my contents is distinct and exceptional. The regular usage of phrases
and detailed input of research is portrayed clearly in my writing. A well-written content has also
helped me in avoiding corrections, constant rework and degrading reputation as a writer.
Referencing Styles
The module has provided me with knowledge on the styles used in referencing. The different
referencing styles that I have learned are Harvard, APA and Chicago (Williams and Davis, 2017).
I have gained knowledge on the use of all these referencing styles and the areas in which a
particular referencing style must be used. The most important element in the learning of
referencing techniques is the point of distinction between each one of them. The differences
among them are minute and could be easily missed out. However, the efficiency of the module
helped me in understanding each of the differences and taught me the best ways to use them at
my workplace.

Employability skills
The major employability skills that I possess are strong oral communication, excellent writing
skill, time management and teamwork. These skills have majorly helped me in continuing my
employment with uninterrupted smoothness and non-existing flaws.
Oral communication
The refined and efficient communicational skill that I possess has helped me in a better
understanding of the allocated tasks. According to Aulia et al. (2019), the appropriate
understanding of work further helps in the smoothening of performance deliverance. The
elements causing blockages and interruption in performing the work is almost non-existent. A
strong communicational skill increases the interaction with the employees at the workplace and
feeds knowledge in new areas of learning (Gallois and Giles, 2015). This added knowledge is not
only helpful in the performance of tasks but will also help in future. Efficient communication
leads to an increase in the efficiency and development of personality.
Teamwork
The individual effort that I put in-group tasks has helped me grow individually as well as my
team. I understand the difference of opinions of members in the team and try to integrate each
one’s suggestions in the formation of a unique and highly efficient idea. The most important
factor in team working is the integration of the efforts of each team member and increase the
productivity of the result extracted from the performance of task (Singer et al., 2018). My effort

Gaps in the skill
There are some gaps, which have to be sorted in accordance with the service providing
management. It is seen that the issues related with proper kind of solution management is related
with understanding of the measures that are related to the learning process I have found that I
have issues in presenting myself in front of the main clients which makes things harder for me
(Adler et al., 2016). The issue might cause loss of reputation and work if I work for an
organization and a client handler. On the other hand, in terms of writing skills I have deduced
that I face issues regarding presenting complex opinion. I think that the gap of what I think, and
verbalizing it in a precise manner is the main factor to be considered. The writing process needs
to be managed with proper kind of delicacy as well.
On the other hand, the teamwork related activities are going to be managed as well. It was
observed that while managing business one person has to be a team player. The essence of team
player is there in me but I think that I have to make sure that I am working as a team and not
prioritizing the individualistic attitude (Lacerenza et al., 2018). I have the urge of proving myself
and I think that I need to make delicate changes in approaching for a solution. The importance of
being a team player needs to be ensured to make proficient changes in the system analysis. I do
not waste time too much, but I think that I need to make sure that I am looking forward to using
it in a more comprehensive manner so that the time related issues could be minimized
proficiently. This s a basic need to be managed for reputation management and ensuing a
proficient state for working. I think that I have to ensure a productive path of working in order to
meet the requirements of making changes in the system.

provided to me regarding assignment making. The research skills that I have are connected with
the needs to mine and I have the understanding of the concern and I priorities the need of mine in
order to make some changes in the system. I feel that in some of the cases I make hasty decisions
and consider those sources of information, which are not legible. I think in the long run, I need to
make sure that I am checking the authenticity of the research and making a logical amendment in
the process, which includes analysis of the sources’ legibility.

condition in the service management policies as well. For this purpose, it is better to present
some opinion in front of the people who are willing to listen what I am trying to say. This will
help me I modifying the skills.
For better kind of teamwork related culture, it is necessary to understand the difference in
making a proficient analysis of the scenario. The team management processes have to be
understood first. I think I have to ensure that I am a team player and that can only be done with
the help of self analysis and I this segment I think that I have to make some amendment I the
think process of mine. For this purpose, I have to ensure that I am working in a team and
considering the group opinion as the prime factor for me. This is a necessary factor to be
considered and in the long run the process is going to ensure a proficient change n the service

This study was concerned with the academic and employability skills developed in me with the
help of the module. I have provided the academic and employability skills that I possess and
their importance in my line of work. I have also stated the ways in which these skills have helped
