INTRODUCTION
The expectations of the teachers with the students that they will carry out of particular
task or assignment with due honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility can be referred to
as academic integrity (Gamage, Silva, and Gunawardhana, 2020). The present report intends to
discuss the concept of academic integrity for the students as well the universities. It will also
provide a brief introduction with respect to the concept of academic integrity and its importance
in the higher education. It will also discuss the implications of academic misconduct. The second
part of the study involves presenting the difficulties faced by an individual while producing a
game and skills acquired in the process.
MAIN BODY
SECTION 1
Introduction to academic integrity
The concept of academic integrity refers to asking the students to follow all the rules and
regulations associated with their standards while studying. Academic integrity asks the students
to carry out their tasks, assignments and activities in a manner in which they abide by certain
principles which includes respecting the work done by others, taking responsibility of the work
carried out by them, being truthful, honest and fair while presenting their work. This concept
restricts the students from using wrongful activities in order to pass an examination. The
activities which are included in the list of academic misconduct includes collusion, plagiarism,
cheating, self-plagiarism, impersonating another individual in the examination, falsifying and
misrepresentation or forging an academic record.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
The importance of integrity in the higher education is as follows:
Career growth and development
It has been determined that academic integrity helps an individual in his career growth
and development. This is because, this concept restricts the students from making use of the
wrongful practices in order to pass an examination (Poitras Pratt, and Gladue, 2022). When the
students are forced to study and develop an understanding towards their subject in order to pass
an examination, they get to enhance their knowledge and understanding in their required field.
This in turn helps the students effectively learning their skills effectively in enhance their

This in turn helps the students effectively learning their skills effectively in enhance their

knowledge towards the subject of the study. This helps the students in acquiring a good job and
position in their career and thus achieve great heights.
Recognition and rewards
It has been observed that there are times when the students make use of unethical
practices in order to carry out a particular activity, assignment or task. Some students make use
of practices such as plagiarism, collusion, cheating, forgery and other such activities. These
unethical practices restraints the individuals who have actually carried out the work on their own
to be recognised by their team and rewarded on the basis of the same. Therefore, it is essential
that the tutors keep in mind the concept of academic integrity and restrict others from using such
wrongful practices This will help the ones who are actually making an effort in order to carry out
a particular task to be recognised and achieve rewards on that basis only.
Discussing the implications of academic misconduct:
Academic misconduct is one of the most common but important term in academic session
impact performance of learner, this simply means disobeying rules and regulation provided by
university and authority. Learner who try to perform unethical work considering cheating and
keeping work under performance, misconduct occur when learner fail to meet the requirements.
It is very clear that misconduct occur by mistake or intentionally, learner sometimes by mistake
perform misconduct and impact code provided by the university, there are any cases which
impact rules and regulation of university and authority, examples of academic misconduct may
include;
Plagiarism: This is one of the most common type of misconduct in which learner try to copy
work or assignment, plagiarism occur when learner try to copy work of others, they do not even
change a single piece of sentence. The concept of plagiarism is wide, learner need to create their
own piece of work where they should not consider other's project, or they need to carefully
review literature and include these understanding by own language (Awasthi, 2019). This is
misconduct because learner simply copy work of other without their permission, this may occur
intentionally and unintentionally depending on amount of plag occur in the piece of work.
Cheating: This is most common type of misconduct as well, learner try to perform cheating in
either assignment or exam, learner perform cheating to clear the academic session. Cheating may
include asking someone else to perform the work and submit it to the university, misconduct
occur when learner performs illegal activity which impact their performance during academic
position in their career and thus achieve great heights.

session. However, cheating is illegal as well which means learner even have to face legislation
and government involvement, this misconduct impact performance of learner and university as
well, learner need to avoid such misconduct to manage their performance during academic
session.
Falsification: This is attempt in which learner try to include false information, here learner
include those data and information which is completely false and do not have valid viewpoint,
this type of misconduct occur when learner try to end their project in limited time, the quality of
project is impacted when learner includes false information and impact their own performance
during academic session. Falsification is considered as misconduct because learner include
wrong data which means whole survey and research become false impacting next researcher.
Wrong information may impact other area as well, this may become critical issue in the
academic process (Parnther, 2020).
SECTION 2
Reflecting on the steps taken, and difficulties encountered in producing the game for Project 2:
Game design is one of the most challenging process, for the completion of spin and win game, I
have encountered with certain challenges and barrier (Dimitriadou and et.al., 2021). I have taken
certain steps which allow me to carefully design this game, these steps helped me to consider
each and every important part of game design. However, spin and win game require certain type
of process and careful selection of key steps in order to develop final outcome of the game, these
steps are:
Step 1: Concept designing: Concept is one of the most important steps in which I have design a
stable concept of game, this may include what game is and how this going to work. Once
concept was clear I encountered with difficulties, the player of this game need to have rules and
regulation which means I have to set rules for each player. It took me to critically think and
design game after setting rules accordingly, this step is critical because I need to provide
foundation to a game. I have carefully examined each and every step allowing me to design
game accordingly.
Step 2: Resource arrangement: This is one of the biggest challenge for me to arrange every
key resource and design game accordingly, I need to have budget and knowledge to design this
game. I encountered with barrier like lack of budget and craftsmanship which impacted the final
design of the game (Laakso, Korhonen and Hakkarainen, 2021). However, resource play vital
and government involvement, this misconduct impact performance of learner and university as
well, learner need to avoid such misconduct to manage their performance during academic
session.
Falsification: This is attempt in which learner try to include false information, here learner

design of the game (Laakso, Korhonen and Hakkarainen, 2021). However, resource play vital

role in this game, I tried to seek help from my friends which allowed me to design game
effectively and craft this game as per the requirements. I managed resource by my own which
means I have to seek any financial help to arrange budget.
Step 3: Rule setting: This is another challenging part for me, I have to set rules for the game.
Although every student knew some rules already which means I have to bring major
modification to rules and regulation of the game. I took step to add my own rules in the game,
spin and win game is complex which require new type of rule at every stage. I carefully set rules
after mitigating any kind of discrimination occur due to critical rule and regulation. Even after
carefully setting rule, I have encountered with certain issue, here I have learned key skill to set
rules according to the game.
Step 4: Testing of game: This is one of the most challenging task where I have to test game
before introducing it to the player, this is challenging process because I have to test game and
have to bring modification according to the requirement (Zubek, 2020). I seek my friends to test
this game, they effectively collaborated with me and helped me to test this game, later we have
encountered certain type of mistake which took us time to improve. However, in the end, I have
tested the game and no mistake was found, I carefully examined final result and design other key
process as well.
Reflecting on the skills learned this academic year and those emphasized in producing your
game:
Academic skills does matter when it comes to career development and performing each
task professionally, I have learned certain type of skills during my academic session allowing me
to produce spin and win game effectively (Bacha, 2022). Academic session allowed me to
examine my weakness, I carefully examined these weaknesses and converted it into key skills, I
carry certain type of skills which helped me to effectively design this game and make this
process successful in the process, there are certain type of skills, these are:
Creativity skills: This is one of the most important skills I have learned in the academic session
which helped me to develop this game, it is very clear that creativity skills allow learner to
design something creative. I have used my creativity skills to design spin and win game, here I
have included my own concept of spin and win, I have set certain rules as per my requirement.
Creativity helped me to improve quality of this game so that player will not going to get bored or
tired playing spin and win, I have selected the best price for winner and for loser as well.

Research skills: This skill helped me to perform research before designing this game, I have
used my research skills which helped me to first understand the concept of spin and win game
(Rose and et.al., 2020). I took help of certain website, source, books, online article and journals
and viewpoint of certain author to keep game effective. Research skills help me to identify
potential barrier and solution to mitigate this barrier, however, researcher skills with creativity
helped me to design game accordingly. I have carefully performed research on academic
integrity to maintain effectiveness in the game, I have included every important element to make
the process ethical and enjoyable for each player.
Communication skills: This is most important skills which learner need to carry for betterment
of their career development process, I have communication skills which allowed me to
communicate effectively with other member of the game including my friends who helped me to
design this game, players who played this game and provided their valuable viewpoint and tutor
who provided me feedback for game I have designed. Communication skills helped me to
convey my creativity, with this skill, I have convinced my tutor to provide approval, convinced
my friends to provide help and reduce chance of failure due to effective communication skills.
Leadership skills: Leadership does matter when leading a game and providing the best moment
to player, with my leadership skills, I have designed this game and included key area allowing
me to deliver enjoyable game to player (ten Braak and et.al., 2019). Leadership skills me to lead
group of player, subordinate and other member, this skills helped me to convey my message and
helped me to implement rules designed by me in the game.
