INTRODUCTION
Academic skill is considered to be the collection of different learning strategies and time
management that helps the person in getting the knowledge. These skills not only help in getting
the knowledge but also help in making the career in the future. Academic misconduct is defined
as the practice for doing an unfair academic advantage by cheating, plagiarism, fabrication and
so on which can be intentional and unintentional. In this report, it is divided into two sections in
which first section covers the academic integrity with its importance and implication. And
reflection on both steps taken and difficulties and the skills developed while producing the game
is explained in second section.
SECTION 1
Academic Integrity
Integrity is defined as the honesty and strong value that an individual cannot change.
Academic integrity is considered as the goal of leaning institution for developing new ideas and
knowledge of individual. Academic integrity involves writing of reports, assessments, research
papers and so on in which the individual has to generate their own ideas and information to
represent in it (Aubert Bonn, Godecharle and Dierickx, 2017). This provide student to gain
knowledge and skills with the help of their own ideas and creativity. Also it concern with the
giving credits to the authors who have already made reports and the students are using in their
work. The student should acknowledge the information and the name of the author which shows
that student is able to understand the concept related to the study. It involves values that are put
into practice by being honest related to academics such as developing unique and creative ideas
and others. Also, being fair to other without doing partiality with them and not taking advantage
of other’s work as well as gaining of trust of others. Along with this, an individual should respect
the others and their work. They should be responsible for their own work and understanding the
concept of academics.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity is important as it enables the person to produce their own work, best of
their ability to earn the degree in higher education. Some importance of academic integrity is
mentioned below:
Document Page
Trust: An individual who is having academic integrity enables others to trust you. This
gives the other person a chance to rely and honest with you (Bonn, Godecharle and Dierickx,
2017). Human has a tendency to trust that person who always do right and thus it creates impact
and has trust on the individual. It helps in developing a good reputation in the workplace as it
shows the honesty and truthfulness.
Value to degree: Academic integrity is important as it gives a value to the degree which is
achieved by the student. The employers of an organisation hire those candidates who have
integrity (Cook and Kuhn, 2020). They believe that a candidate who has high level of integrity
will be able to create positive influence on the organisation and also trust that they can achieve
the mission of the organisation.
Stepping stone: It is important to maintain the academic integrity as it provides a chance
to show honest attitude towards the work done by the students. It helps in generating their own
idea to do the assessments, projects and research. Thus, creating a confidence in them by
investing time in the area of their study that will be stepping stone to the success in their careers.
Institutions: Academic integrity has a vital role in a learning institution as the staff
members and institutions are consistent with their standards which allow the student to have
confidence when they earn the degree (Godecharle and Dierickx, 2017). The student will be able
to feel proud that they have done work by their own and also feel the high standards that they
achieved, knowing that their learning was done on the basis of trust as well as with respect.
Able to generate new ideas: Academic integrity enables students to generate new and
unique ideas for their assessment and projects. This gives them a chance to show their creativity
without copying the other’s work. It influences others to do their work by their own.
Proper credits: When a person is using other’s work, proper mentioning of their names
are importance. This gives credit to the people whose ideas are used in the work that reflects that
the person is able to understand the topics as well as they are able to implement it.
Implications of academic misconduct

other’s ideas and work in own without giving credits to them. This includes paraphrasing,
copying word to word, taking facts and figures which are already there without proper citation.
Another type of academic misconduct is fabrication of information which means altering the
documents which are already present by including artificial information and it includes
presenting fictitious data, misrepresentation in attendance and so on (Mohamed and Lebar,
2017). The consequences of academic misconduct can be very serious which can include
suspension from the learning institutions. Some of its implications are mentioned below:
Student reputation: Students who are found with doing academic misconduct, they can be
suspend or expel from the learning institution. It also includes not entering into the other
institutions also as the learning institutions take academic misconduct very seriously and can
take serious actions against it which can lead to destroying the student reputation (Silver and
Stafford, 2017).
Social: Individuals who have habit of cheating devalues their work and fairness and also
think they cannot be found while doing academic conduct. This will create a direct impact on
their personal as well as social life which can lead to harming the person itself as well as others
also.
Legal: Sponsors may take formal action against the university if the student steals,
plagiarise or fabricate data in works. These activities may include a fine and the loss of potential
university projects also. Such activities have serious consequences and implications as they not
only harm the institution’s image but also limit potential opportunity for other students.
Inaccurate assessment: Instructors cannot accurately assess student performance on the
basis of their expertise, skills, and applications that are necessary in their profession when
students cheat or plagiarise in those academic activities (Van Scotter and Roglio, 2020). As a
result, the institutions can award credits to those people who don't deserve them which can have
a major management consequences.
SECTION 2
Reflection on the steps taken and difficulties encountered in producing the game
Reflection is considered as an analytic practice in which it describes the different situation
that is encountered with the help of Gibbs reflection model which was developed by Graham
Gibbs in 1988 that explains the experience why producing the game and it is mentioned below:
Document Page
Description: this game has three different set of instructions which is related to academic
misconduct and plagiarism. While developing this game, I decided to divide each game
instruction between the members. We also divide the sections among us and we expected that the
game can be completed before the deadline but when we combine all the sections into one, we all
saw that all the parts have different style of writing. This was a difficult for us and decided to
rewrite the game and also make sure to communicate each other properly so that the game can
we completed on time.
Feelings: When this project was assigned, I was happy and thought that this assessment
would be easy for all of us and we completed on time also but the work which was done was
quite frustrating and we have to rewrite the whole assignment, I had little motivation for this
work and feel guilty about the same. We all decided to cancel our plans and do the work which
leads in getting the work done.
Evaluation: The game which was produced was divided into different members. The work
done by the group members was both satisfied and motivating as some members decided to
cancel their evening plans and rewrite the work this shows that they worked hard and contributed
to the group work.
Analysis: I have experienced that we stressed a lot during working on the project as we
have faced difficulties. The stress has both the strength and weaknesses as it provides a push to
all of us for doing the work. I have also analysed that the work done in group is more satisfying
then doing individually as it helps in motivating so that the work can be completed before the
deadline. Apart from this, I have also experienced that every individual has strength and
weaknesses and the weakness can become strength if taken in a positive manner.
Conclusion: From this project, I have learned that when the work is divided into groups,
the project is completed before the time. Along with this, if any mistake or fault happened, all the
team members give their best to solve the issue. Moreover, while completing the assessment
everyone has its contribution towards the project as they work hard and motivate each other for
completing the work.
Action plan: While working on this project, I divided the work into different groups so
that the group has an aim of completing the work on time. In future, I will implement Belbin’s
team role for dividing the work. Along with this, I will make sure that the all group members can
firstly work on a single part so that everyone can get to know about each other’s style of work.

Reflection on the skills learned and its emphasized in producing the game
I have taken number of skills for producing the game which helps me in developing
different strategies and learn from the skills which are mentioned below:
Strategic thinking: The skill is used analysis of all the factors that influence the success of
the game. It helps me in defining the problems that encounter while producing the game as well
as I have analysed the different opportunities and the decision taken which was beneficial for all
the members.
Problem solving: This skill is for used for identifying analysing and providing solution for
the difficulties faced in order to produce the game. It also helps me in implementing the solution
within the time. Along with this it also assess the effectiveness of the solution for the difficulties
that we faced.
Decision-making: Decision-making is a skill that is used for choosing the optimal
solution between the two or more solutions. While producing the game, I have face difficulties
and for this we decided to divide the different section of the game two different individuals so
that the work can we turn on time.
Interpretive analysis: This analysis as an aim for getting insights which a person makes
sense while encountered with the problems. I have experienced that stress was there by
developing the game which happens to be the life changing event for us as we are able to
complete the work on time
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that, academy integrity plays an
important role in higher education and also for a person as it provokes do the work by your own.
It provides the other people to trust and it is the stepping stone for the career as well as avoids the
academic conduct. In this report, it includes about the academic integrity with its importance in
