This report, prepared by a student, examines academic integrity, academic misconduct, and the process of game design. INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity mainly refers to a concept or an approach that particularly involves
the expectations that the teachers, the researchers and the students in particular have within the
academic community related to the aspects of fairness, respects, responsibilities and honesty in
particular. This report discusses regarding the academic integrity and its different aspects. The
report also states the importance of academic integrity in higher education. Also, the implications
of academic misconduct are given below. Also, the skills that were particularly enhanced in the
process of game development are also stated below and also information regarding the game is
given.

SECTION 1
Description of academic integrity
Academic integrity is basically referred to as the code of conduct regarding the morale or
can also be stated as the ethical policies that are set in the academic institutions or the academia
(Bretag., 2016). Mainly, academic integrity refers to elimination or avoidance of the aspects of
cheating and plagiarism in particular within diverse behaviours or tactics of misconduct. Most of
the educational institutions practice this and this is usually expressed within the mission
statements, honour codes, procedures and also policies of these institutions. The major motive of
implementation of academic integrity within an educational institution is to develop and maintain
the levels of honesty and trust for students and also to provide appreciation and credits to the
ones who are actually practising this in particular (Morris., 2018). The concept of academic
integrity mainly is a commitment to the major and the fundamental values regarding the aspects
of respect, trust, fairness, courage as well as honesty in particular.
Through the use of academic integrity the educational institutes also gain discipline
which further implements this within all the stakeholders of the institution, such as the teachers,
students, parents, etc. Discipline is one major aspect that should be taken care of and learnt in
lifetime. And the major learnings are learnt from the educational institutions only. Through the
usage of this particular or specific concept the creation of a community that is inclined and is
dedicated towards the approach of exchanging ideas and also learning is developed and is also
sustained in particular.

Academic integrity can also be stated as a way of acting in a way that is hones, is
respectful, is courageous and mainly is fair and not at all biased (Bretag., 2018). All these
practices if practised by the students can majorly support in development of an effective and a
healthy environment in the institutions in particular. This is something that should be explained
to the students in such a way that they get more attracted and inclined towards the approach and
to implement it into their behaviours in particular. This can be explained by instances like being
honest regarding any ideas generated from other sources, acting in a manner that is fair, not
taking any advantage of the work that is done by other students, taking responsibilities and then
further also carrying them out. Such basic values should be taught to the students to develop the
practice of academic integrity within the educational institution in particular.
Importance of academic integrity within the higher education
Policies and the procedures that basically allow in developing the overall character of the
students and also help in betterment of the goodwill and the recognition of the educational
institution in front of the parents and the potential candidates or the target audience (Atkinson.
Nau. and Symons., 2016). Which means such policies lead to a win- win situation for the
institutes in particular. Obviously, as per the discussion in the above paragraphs it has been
understood that such ethical policies are known as academic integrity (Guerrero-Dib. Portales.
and Heredia-Escorza., 2020). Their implementation is relevant due to many reasons in particular.
One of the major reason the increase in the levels of technological advancements in the
education system. These advancements have also increased the levels of risks in the higher
education system mainly, which has led to hindrance in the goodwill and the recognition levels
of the educational institutes providing higher education.
Due to implementation of academic integrity the position and the image of the institutes
can be restored, and also this will help them in adding well- being in particular. Academic
integrity also helps in development of new as well as creative ideas by involvement of the
contribution of every single individual in particular. This helps in generation of new ideas and
also gives the individuals a sense that they are also an important part of the institution. By
copying things from other individuals and not practising academic integrity leads them to be
stuck in one place, and they are not able to learn new things. Whereas, academic integrity allows
the students to learn new things and further achieve their educational goals as well as success.

This is important not only for the students but also for the teachers within an educational
institution (Raxmatovna., 2022). This also allows the staff of the institution in developing new
and innovative ideas. These ideas can be related to the methods of teaching, etc. It also gives
freedom to the staff as well as gives freedom to the students too. Academic integrity supports in
building the knowledge and also helps in development of the skills in the individuals, also, due to
its presence the levels of academic misconduct are also reduced, as there is transparency and the
levels of efficiency for responding to issue increases.
Implications of academic misconduct
If one end of a thread is academic integrity then academic misconduct is the other end.
Academic integrity is totally different from the concept of academic misconduct in particular.
Academic misconduct basically refers to the practices of cheating in some way or the other that
occurs in the formal organization of the educational institution in particular (Parnther., 2020).
The concept of academic misconduct mainly focuses on tasks or the activities which are not in
the boundaries or the limits which are set by the institution through implementing the approach
of academic integrity within the educational institution. The major types of academic
misconducts are the actions like, collusion, contract cheating, possession of the materials that are
unauthorized, fabrication of information or fabrication of data in particular mainly at the times of
tests or examinations that are conducted within the educational institution in particular. There a
lot of implications of the academic misconduct. This mainly depends on the institution and the
guidelines of the institution in particular. And these implications are present so that the academic
integrity is particularly ad precisely followed. Because just making rules is not enough, those
guidelines also need to be followed.
The misconducts like cheating, plagiarism and dishonesty on the basis of academics can
basically lead to implications such as suspension from the educational institute (Velliaris., 2016).
At times, students are also charges penalty to practice any academic misconduct, this is mainly
so that others are warned and do not perform similar actions. Also, there is a loss of the future
projects, or the students might not get into the next semester or class and a whole year can be
wasted. It totally depends on the intensity of the misconduct and the guidelines of the institution
in particular.

SECTION 2
Reflection of the steps that have been taken and difficulties faced in game designing.
Name of the game:
Dice roll
At the time of developing and designing the game 'dice roll' the steps that were
particularly followed are stated further in detail.
Concept development.
The primary step in the overall process of game designing and development is generation
of diverse ideas and concepts and then evaluating them to further select the most suitable and the
bes game that is required to be designed in particular. By the conduction of the research and
exploration of various subgenres and genres. This step requires careful performance.
Collection of information.
Then the idea that has been selected, information regarding that idea in particular needs
to be designed, information related to that idea needs to be evaluated. The collection of the
information is very necessary for the game designer so that the best game can be developed in
particular. This game, dice roll which is designed by me will be played by children and the
instructions and the information needs to be specified.
Resource collection.
In the next step, resources need to be collected that are required for the game designing.
This basically helps in finding the resources that are required as they are particularly relevant for
understanding the availability of the resources for the designer.
Initiation of game development procedure.
In the next stage the framework of the game that has been selected needs to prepared o
developed in particular. This step basically focuses on conversion of the ideas that have been
prepared into reality. The resources need to effective and also proper. The last step is basically to
evaluate and test the game developed. This majorly helps the designer in making any major
improvements that are required in the overall game in particular.
Difficulties faced in developing and also in designing the game 'dice roll' are as follows:
Balance between education and fun.
This is one major difficulty or challenge that is faced in designing the game for creation
of the balance between the factors that are fun and the factors that are educational.

Lack of experience.
Due to lack of experience the development and designing of the game in accordance to
the demands of the audience and in a manner that is effective is not possible. This can
particularly be done if the game is designed with proficiency and experience.
Data collection.
The process of acquiring the data or the information related to the game is difficult. The
data can not specifically be collected for the game only, hence, it becomes tough for the game
designer to do so.
Reflection on the skills learnt,
Through the overall procedure of game designing in particular, I have learnt a lot of
things. These skills will also be helpful for me in the future. First of all, the major skill that I
have particularly learnt is the skill of team work (Driskell. Salas. and Driskell., 2018). As to
develop and design this game in particular, I had to work with a bunch of different kinds of
people or individuals. Also, I learnt the skill of coordination which is very necessary or relevant
for the completion of any project successfully. Also, through this in particular, I learnt that each
individual has to be dealt in a different manner. This totally depends on the personalities of
different people and the way they deal with issues.
Other skill that I have learnt is communication skill (van der Vleuten. van den Eertwegh.
and Giroldi., 2019). This helped the team members that I was working with to understand the
goal that the project was particularly inclining towards. Also, this will help me to conduct
projects in the future in a way that is better. Better communication leads to clear and precise
understanding which enhances the productivity and further the goals are achieved more
effectively and also more efficiently.
One other skill that I have learnt is to make decisions effectively. This has helped me a
lot. Through the project and will also help or support me in the future as well. Through the
project I have learnt to take better decisions without wasting a lot of time.
CONCLUSION
This report in particular gives a description regarding the meaning or the overall concept
of academic integrity. Further, the report also describes the importance or the necessity of
academic misconduct in particular within the higher educational system. The report also gives
information regarding the academic misconduct and its implications in the educational institution

in particular. In the next section of the report information regarding the game that has been
designed is provided and mainly the learnings that have been generated through the overall
procedure of game designing in particular is provided above in the report.
