INTRODUCTION
Game Design is an unique field in which there are a lot of options which are required
to be considered by the designers before finally making the game (Akcaoglu and
Green, 2019). In this discussion, specific focus will be made on designing of a game
which intends to uphold academic integrity and reduce plagiarism.
Designing a Business Game
The instructions for playing the game will be as follows-
There will be maximum 10 students in the game.
Each of the students will be made to sit on the different computers where they will be given a
paragraph to write on. The question on which the paragraph has to be written will be the same.
The students will then need to write the paragraph on their respective computers and then upload
it on the Plagiarism Check Software. This will reveal the respective plagiarism score by
comparing the work with the work done by the other students and the content which is available
on the internet.
The student who will have the lowest Plagiarism score will be awarded maximum points out of 100.
Other students will be awarded points according to their plagiarism scores. The student scoring the
maximum points will win the game.
Academic Integrity is very important for the students due to the
following reasons-
Academic Integrity helps the students and staff to be able to build new ideas, knowledge
and creative work while respecting the work which has been done by the other students.
Thus this provides a proper acknowledgement to the person who has done the work which
is being used by someone else.
By upholding Academic Integrity the students are able to make sure that they can prevent
plagiarism in their work which thus enhances the originality of the work. Also this can
help them a lot as this increases their chances of obtaining of good marks in their
assignments and exams.
Upholding of Academic Integrity allows the students to ensure that they can enhance their
knowledge on the subjects of the course which they are studying. This can help them a lot to be able
to ensure that they are able to enhance their skills and competencies. Thus in this way the
enhancement of the skills and competencies can be done by them which will help them a lot in the
future in their assignments and exams.
Academic Integrity helps in ensuring that the students can develop their own skills and competencies
effectively and efficiently which will help them a lot in their career so that they are able to make the
relevant progress in the future.
I am a student who is studying in the university. As a part of our curriculum, our teachers in the
college give us a lot of challenging tasks, goals and objectives which have to be attained in the
future. Therefore I was also given a challenging task of designing a game for the students which
helps them in upholding the academic integrity. Thus I developed this game which is called
“Academic Honesty” which helps in checking the plagiarism percentage of the students and awards
highest scores on the basis of lowest plagiarism percentage.
I had to make the use of various types of skills so that I can produce the game.
The skills which were used by me are explained as follows-
Creative skills- Creative skills were used by me so that I ensured that the used
them in a proper manner which helped me a lot in raising the overall bar of
efficiency and effectiveness in the future (Kultima and Sandovar, 2016). The use
of these particular skills are helpful for the purpose of ensuring the design of the
game. Thus in the game of “Academic Honesty”, I had to make the use of
creative skills properly for developing the game in the right manner.
Innovative skills- Innovative skills were used by me because I had to find out the
right way of ensuring the development of new products and services in order to
satisfy a wide range of needs and requirements of the people (Spieler and Slany,
2018). In the game “Academic Honesty”, the use of these particular skills were
made by me which helped me in ensuring that I attain the short-term, medium-
term and long-term goals and objectives.
Academic Skills- The use of Academic Skills were made by me so that I was able
to attain a higher-level of academic excellence in my studies which helped me a
lot in ensuring that attainment of higher-level of academic goals and objectives
can be made possible effectively and efficiently in the right way. I had to make
use of these skills because the game which was designed my me is related with
the academic subjects and thus it requires that I make the use of these skills
appropriately.
Organizing Skills- The use of Organizing Skills was made in the right manner
effectively and efficiently. I therefore ensured that I made the use of these
particular skills in a proper manner so that I was able to design the game in a
proper way for assessing the students. This therefore helped me a lot in ensuring
that I used my skills appropriately for the purpose of producing the game.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that Game Design is
a concept which involves using the ideas in a proper manner for the purpose of designing the
game. The different types of methods and techniques can be used so that the designing of the
games is done which will help in making the games successful

Academic Honesty” is a computer game which will help the students to learn about
the various ways through which they can uphold academic integrity and thus prevent
plagiarism (Gauthier and Jenkinson, 2018). The game will involve providing the
students a paragraph to write on by giving them a particular question which will be the
same for everyone. The game will aim for ensuring that the different types of students
are able to uphold their academic integrity in the right manner.
