INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are those skills which helps the students to pursue their studies in a well defined
manner. It is important for the students to learn such type of skills because it will be important
for them to achieve success in the University and on the other side understand the information in
a correct manner(Woods‐Grove and et. al., 2019). These skills are basically the strategies which
can help the student to learn and grab more things which will them in understanding the things
properly. When students learns and develops new things then on that basis they develop
confidence in themselves and this is the only important factor which gives motivation to
students. Development of these skills are not only required in their academic life but also in their
future time. This report will cover academic integrity and its importance, implications of
academic misconduct, difficulties faced in producing a game and the skills which have been
learned in the academic year and in terms of producing a game.
Section-1
Description of academic integrity
Academic integrity is the way in which students have to develop the behaviour of being
honest and doing all those activities which are not considered as a misconduct. It has been seen
that students for getting good grades do those things which are not considered as good and for
that also they have to face many difficult consequences. Thus, it is basically the commitment
which the students have to give towards the institution because this can hamper the image of
them also. Following the rules and principles of an institution is very important because none of
them will be promoting such things which will not be good for them (ZELENKOVÁ, 2019).
These things are being provided to the students in their earlier phase only when they start
studying that doing any type of thing is false which helps in getting them good grades. Students
follows such type of step when they does not studies for the exam or they might hesitate to ask
any thing from their teacher and this results in creating an issue for them. For the University
when students take their higher degree than at that time they are being told about the things
which they have to do and those things which are not at all acceptable. They have to follow the
rules so that students can abide by it without any problems but still students chose this roadmap
for working and getting good marks. Developing the goodwill for University is a very important

thing because with that only students will be coming to take their admission in the University.
But for the students also developing this factor will be important because with that only they
learn things independently rather than getting information from some other place. This will be
helpful for them only because education is a key to success and this will help in their career also
because if they will not be having any knowledge on the information then they would not be able
to get their required job.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity is the way by which students will be acting in a good way and will
not be doing anything which is not good in academics. It is important for the students to work
with great ethics so that they does not face any problem or issues. Academic integrity is
important for the students and to the University because with that both will be having some or
the other benefits(England, 2020). For the students when they will be performing their work
with great integrity then at that point they will be learning the things on their own without taking
the help of others. It is important for the students to do their work and assignments on their own
because with this they will be collecting all the things and then identifying that if the collected
information will be good for them or not.
The chances of achieving success by the students will be more in this because they will
be developing the honest attitude towards their studies and this is the most important factor.
Doing and showing honesty is not just required when the student is in their academic life but it is
also important during that phase of life when they will be working and doing some job of their
own interest. If they will be behaving in such factor then the confidence in them will be higher
level compared to that of doing those things which does not involves any of the honest
behaviour(Price and Kalil, 2019). Students are involved in copying the things from other people
or involved in any cheating but this will create problems to them at some or the other time. It is
important for the students to make some investment for the studies and to make and prepare
notes by themselves because if they will be involved in such things then this can help them in
getting and understanding the things on their own without taking help from other people. For the
University also, working with great integrity is very important as this helps the Institution to
portray their image in a better way. No student would like to come in that institution which is

allowing all such misconduct because this will create an impact on their degrees which they will
be taking from that particular University.
Implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct refers to any fraud or the dishonest behaviour which is made by the
students towards their academics. These are considered to be that activities in which students use
some misbehaviour where they conduct their academic activities. These are unfair in terms of
University and also in terms of students because these are non-beneficial for both the parties.
Academic misconduct is that in which the University does not gives permission to students to do
such type of things and those includes cheating, plagiarism and other things in which University
does not gives any permission to this (Yong and Ashman, 2019). But if students will do such
type of thing then in the end this will be harmful to them only because this will not enable any
transfer of knowledge to them and they would not be able to learn anything. They will not be
able to work with great zeal and motivation and on the other side they will not be having any
information about the things which will make an impact on their studies.
Students and University both will be having great impact if they perform any such type of
activity which can include less grades or they might not be provided with their degrees. The
other thing is they may have to give some fines and with that they may not be given admission in
other University. For the University also any type of academic misconduct will create bad image
for their goodwill and no student would like to take admission in such type of Institute which is
promoting these things.
This is a negative thing for both of them because if the students will taking help of such things
then the chances of getting success for them will be less and they would not be able to achieve
those things which they wanted and the reason for this is lack of knowledge in them. It is
important for the University to make strict regulation where they are creating policies for any
academic misbehaviour for people(Hawe, Lightfoot and Dixon, 2019).

Steps taken for the game and difficulties which were faced in producing a game
The game which I have taken for avoiding the plagiarism was “Pro-Plag” and this game has to be
done in a group. This was the game which I developed in which user can conduct the search for
any topic which they want and can make the use of it. But with the development of this game I
found many difficulties which has created lot of complexity for me and those are discussed
below-
Managing a team- It was really difficult for me to manage the team as everyone was
having their own points and relevance because of which I used to face lot of
problems(Salam and et. al., 2019). Everyone in the team was having some or the other
issues in which at some point of time I have to do some or the other thing. At some time
I used to be in a pressure where conflicts arises in a team.
Raising funds for the game- As a student who is already studying faces this issue of
raising the fund in which I have to work for a part time job so that I can earn some
money. I want to be a game developer from many long time but with it was the major
issue which created the problem to me to work on this thing. Raising funds I found to be
the most difficult task for me where I have to work to earn money and with that I have to
make the whole designing of the game.
Finding a right concept- The other factor which was the most important but in that my
mots of the time was spent is to find the right and the best concept so that my game can
look better and gain popularity(McKevett and Kiss, 2019). For that I searched many
websites so that I can gain some information in order to work on my game and make it
the correct and popular one.
Skills learned in the academic year and those developed while producing a game
There were many skills which I developed in the academic year and also while producing a game
and those were discussed below-
Creativity skills- This is the most important skill which I have developed when I was
studying and with that I also learned something about creativity when I started to produce
a game. This was the time when I learned that in which way and how I can work with

creativity so that people who will be using the game can found it more interesting and
with that it will make me feel satisfied also.
IT skills- This is the most important skill which I have developed in producing a game
which helped me a lot in producing a game. This skill is related with producing a game
and that is to use the software which helps in the development of a game and this is the
most beneficial one which I have identified(Jones and et. al., 2019). This will be helpful
to me not just in producing a game but also in my future where I will be working for a
job.
Communication skill- This is the skill which I have developed in my academic term
where I was studying. It is the most important skills which is helpful in increasing the
confidence of a person and also to build relationship. I have developed this one by
actively participating in the class and also communicating with other students for the
topics which I was unable to understand in a better way. With this manner, I gained lot of
knowledge and information helping me to develop this thing(Sin, Tavares and Amaral,
2019).
CONCLUSION
From this report it can be concluded that academic skills plays an important role in the
life of students because this helps them in increasing their motivation as they can learn new
things without facing any complexities. Students develops these skills and with that they become
more organized with the studies they do. The importance of learning and developing these skills
is that it provides the knowledge to students as what they can do and how they can manage their
studies in a better way. When the students will develop these things they get higher grades in the
University which will be helpful for them.
