This report provides a comprehensive overview of academic integrity, its importance in higher education, and the implications of academic misconduct such as plagiarism, cheating, and data fabrication. It reflects on the steps taken and difficulties encountered during the development of a game designed to reduce plagiarism, highlighting skills learned throughout the academic year, including presentation, writing, time management, and research skills. INTRODUCTION
The concept of academic integrity is defined as the moral code of conduct as well as
ethical policy of academic institutions. It is considered as the expectations of students, teachers
and researchers and academic community to perform their actions with trust, fairness, honesty,
respect and responsibility. If established rules and regulations are breaking down than it is
termed as academic misconduct or academic dishonesty. There are various skills that help
students to perform their academic work in efficient manner. The report is divided into two parts.
First part of report covers concept of academic integrity, its significance in higher education and
and implications of academic misconduct. In the second part of report stages of game and
difficulties that are faced during game development are explained. Furthermore, skills that are
developed during game development are mentioned in this project report.

An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
Academic integrity: Academic integrity is related to keeping honesty and accountability
in preforming academic work. It is related to performing own work, submitting own work,
getting credit of own work as well as providing credit to other authors if there work is referred.
The concept provides freedom to staff members and students to develop their ideas, perform
creative work, respecting and acknowledge others work. It ensures that ethical values and
practices are put down to complete work with honesty in university. It make sure that moral
behaviour is used in academic work. As per the perspective of students, it determines ethical
decisions, consider instructions and perform work with great integrity. Generally, it is defined as
a commitment that includes five fundamental values such as honesty, trust, respect, fairnesses,
respect and responsibility. These standards and values provide an educational environment that
allow students to learn and take responsibility of their own work. It is related to avoiding
plagiarism and other academic misconducts to ensure that defined work is performed with
efficiency and effectiveness. The aspect of academic integrity provides an opportunity to
academic institution to pursuit work properly.
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity is the concept that plays important role in higher education because it
ensures that all academic work are performed with honesty and integrity, follow all rules and

regulations and take responsibility of their work that make effective environment in university.
It provides freedom to university staff members and students to describe their ideas, thoughts and
knowledge. It facilitates students to learn new things and perform their work with honesty
without taking credit of others work. Along with that it maintains quality of teaching and
improve student's understanding through obeying determined regulations that are developed by
institute. Academic integrity is important because it help to reduce the level of unfair activities ,
misconducts and lead students to complete their work with efficiency on time. It plays significant
role in maintaining ethics and values as well as provide career opportunity to students.
Implementation of academic integrity maintains strong image as well as reputation of university.
In higher education, academic integrity plays important role because it helps university to
maintain consistent trustworthiness in specific courses and develop confidence of community in
the people who complete their graduate course in specific degree. To maintain trust level,
university consider the concept more seriously. The concept also enhances the feeling of trust
and proud on academic standards that are achieved by students in academic year.
Academic integrity helps university to maintain efficient environment in university and
facilitates through developing strong international ranking. Fails in the concept of academic
work impacts university credibility in negative manner. Through implementing effective
academic standards, professional practices and integrity student develop their skills and
competencies that enable them to attain the objective of employment in future. Hence, execution
of academic integrity in work is important for university to develop strong and effective
reputation.
Discuss the implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct is considered as the unfair activity that is performed by students
for the purpose of gaining academic advantages them other students. In academic misconduct
various activities are included such as plagiarism, using unauthorised material, cheating
fabrication of data as well as taking different actions that reduce the level integrity in academic
work. There are various academic misconducts are performed that have various serious
implications. These misconducts and their implications are mentioned below: Plagiarism: It is considered as the unfair activity and unethical practice that is related to
using others work with informing or acknowledging them. The level of plagiarism in
work reflects that work is not performed with integrity. If students do not provide the

right source of information and author is also determined as the academic misconduct. If
these activities are found in university than it take serious actions against those students
who steal others work without informing them. University make it difficult for students to
take admission in other university in any courses. Cheating is the misconduct that is related to the activity through which students cheat
others work in exam and in preparing assignments. Collusion is another misconduct that states that students perform their work with others
and submit it as their own work. It is related to taking others work credit. Fabrication of data is the misconduct that is related to misinterpreting data with
intention that influence the outcome of research.
Causes: Students face various causes through conducting the activities of academic misconduct.
Exploitation of online sources in order to copying the assignment is considered as the latest
academic misconduct. University creates various policies and practices in order to promote
ethical behaviour. Insufficient time and knowledge and time is the causes that leads students
towards cheating other assignment and perform misconducts.
There are various consequences are faced by the students is they are involved in the
activities of misconduct. There are various penalties are imposed by university to reduce the
level of plagiarism and misconducts. Consequences of academic misconduct are mentioned
below: loss of intellectual properly is the greatest impact of academic misconduct because it is
related to stealing the work of others. Original work considered as the assets of person if
someone use it without their permission than it is determined as the loss of author's
property. Legal concern: In university, various external sponsor offers an opportunity to develop
projects that are related to real life problems. If students conduct cheating, plagiarism
and other misconducts in preparing these projects that sponsors has right to take legal
actions against university and students. It impacts reputation of university in negative
manner.
 Inaccurate assessment is the consequences that is raised by academic misconduct. It
unable the instructor to examine the performance level of students in accurate manner.

University takes actions against the students through reducing their marks, suspend them
or declare them fail in module.

Reflect on the steps you have taken, and difficulties encountered in producing the game
In the process of designing game, various steps are taken that helps to develop game with
efficiency and effectiveness. The game is related to removing the plagiarism as well as
misconduct from academic work. I have develop simple instruction to play game that can be
easily understand by others. We have included various interesting features in game like “Red
Alert” that recognise the plagiarism in written content and highlight them with red colour.
Grammatical errors is another tool that improves students writing skills and then them to perform
there academic work with efficiency. There are various steps are taken to develop game that are
mentioned below:
 Game is played among students and teachers for the purpose of reducing plagiarism in
content. Initially, it is required to login the game in their computers and mobile. Game is
opened with some specific features and various options are displayed to participants.
 In this step, group of 5 to 6 students formed than the activity of writing content approx
100 to 500 is allotted to team in word format.
 In last step, winner team of game is announced whom content minimum plagiarism is
found. These winners are appreciated by the teachers.
In the process of developing plagiarism remover game, I have faced various problems and
difficulties that affect my actions and performance in negative manner. I have analysed that lake
of coordination among team members is greatest problem that create conflicts in team and
impacts on overall efficiency. I have analysed that lack of technical skills and related tools is the
aspect that limits overall gaming process. In the procedure of preparing question list, we have
faced difficulty such as arranging them in sequential manner that are properly will be asked to
participants. There is no outsider testing is conducted for testing efficiency and effectiveness of
game. I have analysed that, some decisions are taken improperly that affect game procedure. I
have recognise these difficulties and take suitable decisions to manage them on time.

Reflect on the skills learned in academic year
As there are various stage are conducted to develop the game that is used to reduce the
level of plagiarism and academic misconducts. I have learnt various skills and competencies
during the process of developing game that help me to perform academic work with efficiency
and effectiveness to attain desirable outcome. Through out the academic year, I have learnt how
to avoid plagiarism as well as misconducts from academic work. Skills and competencies that
are developed in academic year are explained below:
Presentation skill: The skill of presentation helps an individual to present their ideas,
thoughts and concepts to others in efficient manner that create mutual understanding. In my
academic year and developing game I have learnt to present my ideas to target audience in
efficient manner. I have used power point presentation to convey my ideas in attractive way. It
helps me in future as well to perform academic or professional work in best possible manner.
Writing skill: During my academic session and developing plagiarism remover game , I
have learnt effective writing skill that enable me to present my ideas in written form through
making correct sense of grammar, spellings and punctuations. During the designing game, I have
prepared a list of questions with proper sequence that help me to improve writing skill. This skill
helps me to prepare my assignment in proper way and perform well in examinations.
Time management skills: In academic year, various assignment are allotted to me that
must be performed in specific time period. I have developed a schedule according to activities
that enable me to complete my academic work and assignments on time and help me to improve
my time management skill. In the process of developing game I have divides all activities and
stages according to time that helps complete the assignment on time with efficiency. Somehow,
this skill emphasised me during the game production because initially I do not manage time
against activities that impact overall performance.
Research skill: In the process of preparing my academic assignments and projects, I have
used different sites and online sources to collect reliable information. In assignment of
developing plagiarism remover game, I have prepare a list of questions that enable participants to
improve their knowledge and academic integrity in fun way. I haves different online sources that
improves my understanding and learning regarding academic topics. Research skill enables me
to collect reliable and authentic data with efficiency.

CONCLUSION
Academic integrity is the is related to implementing values as well as ethics in
performing academic work for gaining desirable outcomes. Execution of the concept of
academic integrity in important for higher education due to maintaining strong reputation.
Students perform various misconducts such as cheating, plagiarism, fabricating data and other
unfair as well as unethical activities that affect their work and knowledge in negative manner.
University takes various serious actions against students who are involved in unfair activities. In
academic year and the process of developing plagiarism remover game, various skills and
competencies are learnt by students that helps them to perform academic work with efficiency.
