INTRODUCTION
The term academic integrity basically means the qualities (such as honesty, responsibility,
respect) with which the academic related community (students, teachers and other affiliated
people) are expected to work. It supports the building of educational values and standards. This
report consists of detailed explanation of academic integrity. File is divided in different topics for
clear understanding of the readers (Forsha, 2021). The file further divides in 2 sections, section 1
includes importance of academic integrity on higher education and implications of academic
misconduct, section 2 with different difficulties, skills and references used.
TASK 1
Academic integrity -
It mainly oppose the frank behaviour towards cheating and several other misconducting
activities that is increasing in students day by day and they even entitle it as a brave and
competent activity. This should be a matter of concern not just for the community related people
but for the world as some not appropriate students gets promoted to higher qualifications and
some suitable ones don't get the opportunity due to high competence.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education:-
Laws - There are strict legalities provided by the universities that are supported
by the government which can lead to different harsh punishments, fines and
prisoned in serious circumstances for misconducting educational activities.
Quality of leaning – Not using fair values in education system will affect the
quality of leaning and have no guarantee of actual knowledge needed for the
certain post or position. This also gets a student to study about various elements
of the world, systematic maintenance of records, geographical and many other
knowledgeable formats which can help the learner immensely (Hiebert, Quinn
and Vogt, 2021).
Respect/ fairness – Maintaining this element will help the education system for
building transparency in their functionality and will promote various social
values.
Document Page
Reliability – Through getting platforms provided due to the loyal understanding
of different type of information, a person gets independent and relied on himself.
Even certain people of society are relied on those. (Veerachamy, 2021)
Respect – The reputed people are mostly the ones with high information or their
high reliability. The educated ones are with both of these qualities and thus get a
good respect in the society.
Influencing skills - The academic tool includes psychological elements of
behavioural aspect too, providing the students with impactability over the human
behavioural which develops the influencing skills making people believe in them
and getting their things done.
Best chance of success – It provides the students with best chances of success
who use honest attitude in performing their academic tasks as they posses the
actual practical and theoretical knowledge that is used in their working or
operatives.
Value of university – The quality of leaning and the way staff and students work
or study in a university, impacts other people see the university and what is its
value. So for maintaining a good worth in society, an university must uplift and
maintain the fair standards of the assessments and courses held. (Hysaj and
Suleymanova, 2021)
Self confidence – When a student passes through honest leaning and without
using any academic misconducting practices such as cheating, he/she will have
faith and will be proud of his/her standards of true learnings.
Proper credit – In giving tests and assessments, its important for the enrollee to
provide the actual data about the data provider or writer whose information has
been used. It gives proper recognition to the writer which is the outcome of his
hard work used in collecting and providing the information. It also tells the
checker see where your ideas have come from and which can also effect the
marking (hoForsha, 2021).

Implications of academic integrity misconduct :-
Cheating – It is the term which is commonly used in today's world in reference of
'breaking the rules or not doing things in a correct way for obtaining some unfair
advantages'. When used in terms of educational activity it means if any enrolee buys or
exchanges some other's work or uses internet resources for getting required answers of
the asked questions. These is one of the basic and commonly used and practised activity
in examinations.
Plagiarism – When someone uses or copy some other person's data or research without
providing prior reference or without consent of the data provider for incorporating it as
his own made answer or report, the activity is known as plagiarism. It not necessary that
the plagiarism must be in written data form, it can also be in printed, graph, drawed or
coded form. The activity can be intentional or unintentional. Performing this activity
intentionally without providing required references may turn out to be legally
challenging. In some cases it is even said as stealing some other's intellectual property.
(Tsigaros and Fesakis, 2020)
Collusion – It is activity of collaborating of more that one student or scholarly person for
submission of assessments that must be done by an individual. It may result in
punishment of all the individuals involved. The activity in which different people
collaborate or discuss about the task together but present their tasks differently which
represent mostly similar data, can also be mentioned under the activity collusion. This
doesn't involve the group tasks in which a group of people are told by the university to
collaborate with each other to complete one or their different tasks.
Falsification of academic records – This is one of the most offence considered type of
academic misconduct activity. In this type, a person buys, duplicates or makes other
person conduct tests or assessments in place of himself for any certain job position or
degree or use the fraudulently document for any work.
Social – The misconduct of these activities may also effect the social life of the
individuals who practise it or had practised it in the past like it can effect as forming a
cheating habit of the person which he may use in his daily life like in his friend circle,
work and many other aspects of life. This may look as a cooperative activity in starting,

but it can deeply effect the image or self satisfaction of the person in the long run (Kasler,
Hen and Sharabi, 2019)
TASK 2
Reflect on the steps taken to produce the game
As elaborated above, the importance of pure practices of academic integrity is so important
for the world and effects the society severely when use of academic misconduct becomes
common. I felt the need of a tool or game which will help in minimising the most common
misconducting activity – plagiarism. Due to this, I got an idea to do something towards this
important concern and securing the level of academic integrity. So I decided and started working
towards building an efficient game which will be easy to use for the users and works to help
immensely in solving the problem. I first began to form the group with some skilled individuals
for building a creative team which can work together in building some useful resource, as it was
near to impossible for me to program and build a complex game alone. Then I managed the
useful resources that were needed in the process such as computers, coding software, quiet place
to perform the workings and many more. After starting the procedure, the task was of managing
the team and overlooking of the work. We worked on identifying the key issues to address. We
focused on the colour and texters of the game so the users find it attractive and want to play it.
The coding was needed to be perfect so the players would not face any inconvenience, so this
activity got full of our attention and time.
Difficulties faced :
In the process of establishing the game, me and the team faced several issues that were needed
work upon. Some of the issues we faced are as following :
Easy usage – We identified our target audience as students, researchers and other
education related people some of which can be less knowledgable about computer
workings. So the process was also needed to be easy to use. (Pratt, 2021)
Designs, context – Identifying of the colours, textures, format and other factors of the
game which effects the looking was very difficult as there are unlimited number of
choices for it. This looks like a simple subject, but this was actually one of the hardest
and a topic to be focused as it helps greatly in attracting more and more users.

Collaborating ideas – Working in a team in a decentralised manner helps to discover
more and more ideas and ways to do the work as different people specialise in different
areas. But this also create chaos and battle of ideas though different individual have
different point of view. We faced this difficulty. But selected best of the some ideas by
taking majority between the team.
Identifying the best resources – For making the project fascinating and better than the
competitors we needed qualified resources such as – our employees, data we used and
materials / software required. To identify and find these resources from the market and
providing them the demanded fees was a very tough activity but we fought with it and got
the resources within our budget.(Sanni-Anibire, 2021)
Skills learned this academic year and those emphasised in producing the game :
Creative skills – This is the ability which shows how a person sees and finds solutions of
a task or problem faced. In context on the task, it helped me and my team a lot in
developing our creativity skills. We found some new and different ways of certain
procedures that were not used before in the process of developing a similar type of game.
Different workers had different ways of solving problems, we compared and found some
new efficient ways. I gave my team full power of putting their ideas in front of the other
team which helped immensely in understanding and developing these skills of our. This
can only happen through good team management and not performing centralised manner
in the project or organisation.
Tech savvy skills – These are the skills which helps in using and developing new ways
of technology. This skill is a deep and large topic itself and it needs deep understanding
of technology and how it will help in betterment of the production and technique. The
using of these skills in our project made several things easier and better. Some of our
team members were highly tech savvy and cooperative who helped to develop this skills
of mine and some other teammates too. (Smith, 2021)
Critical thinking – It is the activity in which the skill holder think clearly and according
to the plan and knows where the focus should be put. Understanding the connection
between different ideas and process logically. In the projected we thoroughly understand
the different ideas we had and chose the best ones. We also praised the idea giving

manner of all members even if the idea was not up to the mark to keep them motivated
and told them their areas of lacking.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned report it has been concluded that academic integrity is an area of
focus and it benefits the society in many ways. There are some qualities with which the
education related community is expected to work. It then tells about its importance in the
educational world and real life aspects. How the government interferes in matter and what are the
legal charges that can be applied on the ones who uses the wrong practices. Then it goes towards
the topic of what is academic misconduct and its certain implications. It also tells about the
different types of misconduct happens in today's world. Report then highlights the frank
behaviour of students towards these misconducting activities and how these are practised.
Moving towards the second task. It first includes the self-reflection of the writer about how he
developed the game and what were the different difficulties that he faced. The writer/developer
than tells about the skills that he and his team members learnt in the process of developing the
game and in what way they helped in the activity.
