INTRODUCTION
Academic Integrity means commitment and honesty in academic setting. It shows the moral
behaviour as a part of academics. It is an important concept that gives credit to others for using
their ideas. It can also be said as acknowledging the contribution of other people. This report is
based on academic integrity and its importance (Klijn, Alaoui and Vorsatz, 2020). There is
discussion related to implications of academic misconduct. As the end there is reflection based
on the problems that were faced by producing the game.

Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
Academic Integrity means following moral values and ethics in academia. Community of
academics and the University are built on norms shared values such as honesty responsibility and
fairness. The meaning of academic integrity is to put all the values in the practice so that there is
honesty in a card make work that is done in University being fair is an important task. Everyone
should take the responsibility of learning in a way that does not harm others. If students will
work honestly and in a fair manner they will be able to learn and learn and implement all those
things in real life and will be able to become successful (Kusumawardhani, Purnama and
Rokhimah, 2020). All the norms should be followed by a student so that there is no chance of
misconduct or any problem associated in the career. It is desired that all the students should
know about the norms and should think it as their responsibility to follow all these norms and
moral values. It is not a thing that can be neglected as if a student does not understand the
concept or follows it. The individual may get in problem and has to bear the consequences.
Academic Integrity means following the concepts that are means following all the norms that are
formulated and working with honesty and fairness. As per ICAI there are five fundamentals to
academic integrity. It is said that all these fundamentals should be followed even in the event of
adversity and they are mentioned below:
Honesty: All the work done should be completed with honesty and there should be quest for
truth. It says that it is vital to be honest while learning, research and teaching.
Trust: The communities if Academic Integrity works on the mutual trust. This trust helps in free
flow of ideas and reaches full potential.

Fairness: This says that it is vital to follow all the norms and learn and study with maintaining
fairness. It establishes transparent expectations, practices and standards that there is interaction
between teachers, students and administration.
Respect: It is vital to respect the norms and then follow them. It is vital to honour and value the
opinions and exchange of ideas.
Responsibility: It is responsibility to work within the standards and then take actions based on
those. Everyone should consider it as responsibility to work as per the norms that are established.
It is important to follow the principles and the concept of academic integrity. All these
fundamentals will help to maintain fairness while studying. Every student should understand the
concept of academic integrity and it importance.
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic Integrity is the concept of following all the norms and regulations in a way that helps
students to gain knowledge with integrity. If it is not understood the person may face various
challenges while studying in university or while doing job in future. As following the concept of
honesty will always help the individual (Douglas and Watt, 2019). It shows values of student and
the effectiveness in studying. A student is ought to follow the concepts of integrity so that are
able learn effectively. They should respect all the things that are being taught to them and take
learn them faithfully. Teaching is important part of ever student’s life. If the student will do
cheating while they study it will hamper their career. They will become dishonest. A student who
will be honest while they study that will help the student (Pethrick, 2020). All the other will trust
you and this will boost the confidence. If a student will learn and study with honestly they will
be able to complete their future in a desired way. As the students that follow the principles of
integrity are trusted by others and they develop a trust. A confidence is developed among them
and there are more chances that they will be good leader. Honesty and trust are sign of a good
leader. By developing good habits at the time of college will help them in future and will be able
to get good job. All these principles of integrity will help them in the workplace. At the time of
interview also the integrity and their experience help them to get selected. The student should
know their responsibility while studying and learning (Krishnamurthi and Rhode, 2018). As all
this is important and shows the moral values of student. This will help the person in such a
manner that the student will have peace of mind as the individual will know that all the things
that are done are right. So there are no chances of problem in future. Honesty always helps (Fass-

Holmes and Vaughn, 2018). Learning is one the most important phase of life and the individual
who has followed the concept of academic integrity will be able to learn good principles like
honesty, responsibility, respect, fairness and trust that will always help the person in future in
every part of life. All this norms if learnt once are stored in mind and one remembers them. The
moral values will help the person in every phase of life. This is the reason behind learning and
studying the concepts of the academic integrity and following them.
Discuss the implications of academic misconduct
If people do not follow the integrity while they study then there are chances of academic
misconduct. There are fines imposed, also loss of future projects and the university may also file
lawsuit against the student. All this may ruin the future of the student. Also this will be
problematic for the university as well. This also causes problem for the teachers as they are
unable to teach the concept of honesty to the students. If a student does misconduct there are
consequences that are discussed below:
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is considered as unethical. The reason is that it is an activity of threat.
Plagiarism means copying the material and study of another student. The idea of writing is not
own. The thoughts of other person are being copied (Reedy, Janssen and Wurm, P., 2020). This
is not an ethical work. The words of other people are stolen and the ideas are being copied. It is
same as stealing which is unethical to do. It is a phenomenon of using the work done by others
and presenting it as own. The owner of work can file complaint for the same. That is ideas and
words of that person. Plagiarism is known as violation of academic integrity. There are penalties
for not following the ethics. By not following the fundamentals of academic integrity there are
chances of the work getting plagiarised.
Cheating: It is another ethical issue. This means copying the work done by others. That is a way
to pass an assignment or to get good marks in class. This means just doing the work in the same
way that the other student has done. It gives unfair advantage over others. As academic integrity
means following and working with honestly and fairness. The cheating means doing the work in
a unfair way. Cheating also means using the material that is prohibited to use (Reedy, Janssen
and Wurm, P., 2020). The problem is faced by the student as they are unable to know and learn
the concept. There are chances they may pass through cheating. The knowledge is not gained by
the individual. This also becomes habit and the person may do the same in future.

Collusion: It means that a work is completed by a group that was to be complete by individuals.
It is also against the academic integrity as the work that should be completed by an individual is
ought to be completed by that person. That is wrong way of completing the task by taking help
of others (Luniachek, Brovdii, Kulakovskyi and Varenko, 2020). It is responsibility of the
student to complete the task assigned to them and not taking help of others and not involving
anyone else while completion of the work that is being assigned to them.
All these are the implications of not adhere the academic integrity principles. All the
things that are taught while studies are important and help the student in future. So no one should
try to abolish them. As they have bear consequences for the same. Plagiarism, cheating and
collusion are considered as academic misconduct and there are penalties against them (Scurr,
2020).

Reflect on the steps you have taken, and difficulties encountered in producing the game
It is a privilege that I was given the opportunity to develop the game. It was an
interesting work and there is need of so much hard work to completely develop the game. There
is need of critical thinking and research ability to decide and finalise the area. It is not an easy
task to develop a game. Not only hard work there was need of smart work. First of all a proper
research was conducted. As the research will help to gain a good idea. Also there is requirement
of skills to develop a game. I analysed that proper planning was the reason of success. As all the
things were not manageable. Every person of the group has different opinions and it is not an
easy task to coordinate with all the group members. All of them have different opinion. It is not
easy to make them all work in a coordinated way that the task is achieved. It is important to
implement the plan effectively. The main problem that is group faced way the conflict. As no
one understands others. And these conflicts cause problem and hindrance the working of the
group. As these conflicts also stopped the working for the game for a time being. Also the group
members not always take interest while working. Lack of engagement was another problem that
was faced by our group. Tension was another problem faced by us. As at a time we were unable
to work effectively caused problem. I was in stress and unable to work effectively then. All this
stopped us. As there is requirement of positivity to complete a task. Our team was lacking this
factor and that is the reason we were unable to do the task fast. Also the problem of proper

management was seen. As the team members were not doing the tasks on time. Also if there
were changes then team members were reluctant to change. This also caused problem. If the
team members do not work and will be reluctant to change. Also everyone not share the
information with each other. Lack of communication is a major problem that is the reason the
efficiency in working will be reduced. Overall it was an interesting task to develop the game. No
doubt there were various challenges that were faced but it was effectively and efficiently
developed. It was a good experience and will develop team work ability in me and also the other
group members.
CONCLUSION
From the above report this can be concluded that academic integrity should be followed by
every student. It is a concept of following all the norms and moral values that are made and will
help student to learn and study in a fair way. There is discussion about the concept of academic
integrity and its importance. Also there is discussion related to the implications of academic
misconduct. In the end of the report there is a reflection showing the problems that were faced
while developing the game. A student should always follow the principles of academic integrity.
