INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity is one of the most important as well as critical aspect for each and every
institution that is working in the industry of providing quality educational services since it is one
of the reason behind the employed and educated youth in a country so it must be analyse and
evaluated in a proper manner so that it can add value to the industry in the long run (Davidsson,
2016). In this report there is a detailed evaluation done of the various aspects and factors of the
academic integrity and the things that are associated with it and the various other things like
academic misconduct that is going on in the institutions. Apart from that the report also covers a
lot of different aspects like a reflection of the different steps that are taken with context of the
difficulties that are faced while producing a game for the project 2.

A detailed introduction of the concept of academic integrity
Academic integrity is very important for a student to follow as it involves various ethics
and values that a person should follow in general so that it can lead to the overall growth and
development of that person in general. It is very crucial for a student to be honest towards his
work so that it can lead to setting up an example that others can follow. Not only students,
teachers, workers and everyone that is associated with it must show integrity so that it can help in
the growth of the institution as a whole. Apart from that integrity must not only be limited till the
premises of the institute but one should follow it in the daily life too so that it can make the
person more ethical, valuable, honest, etc. Also if a university works with utmost integrity it
stands well ahead of all the others and thus a reputation becomes of that institution which helps a
lot in the long run so thus it is very important to show integrity at each and every place and by
every individual too (Engwall, Kipping and Üsdiken, 2016).
Evaluating the importance of the topic that is discussed above which is academic integrity
It will be not wrong to say that integrity is the foremost thing without which a university
cannot perform in an effective and efficient manner and thus it is regarded as the backbone of
working. All the activities that are performed in the university starting from teaching and
learning to so all the research work integrity must be maintained and also with that academic
integrity must also be given preference as it helps in improving various areas that are ideas,
knowledge, creativity, etc. Academic integrity possess a lot of value not only for the students and

teachers but also for the university itself since it helps in evaluating and analysing the overall
performance of the institution as a whole (Rosati and Faria, 2019). Its importance in context with
different aspects are shown below-
For students- If a student cheats in a course or any other subject the person tends to
nullify the chances of his improvement that can happen if he does not cheat in work so academic
integrity is a must in this regard as it helps in the overall growth and development and also tends
to show their exact position where they stands in learning and executing it in the same manner.
For the community of the college- Almost all of the institutions that are working in the
industry of providing quality services mainly focus on three major factors that is teaching,
research, and values. Thus it can be said that it is very essential for every university to keep a tab
on all the activities that are performed in it so that it can lead to the increase of its value and
reputation in the current period of time.
Thus it can be said that it is very important to follow all the code of conduct that is
established for the working of the institutions so that they can run in a very smooth manner
without facing any complications in between (Forkmann, Henneberg and Mitrega, 2018).
Analysing and evaluating the major implications of the misconduct that happens in the academic
part
There are a number of activities that are done by the students and thus are regarded as
misconduct since they are not according to the rules and regulations of the university and thus it
can hamper the career of the student too. The things that can be done by the university in case of
an academic misconduct range from penalties to debarring the candidate according to the activity
done by the student and hence it becomes very much important for each and every student to
abide by all the laws and regulations that are formulated by the university at the starting. The
different aspects of academic misconduct are explained below in a very detailed manner-
Plagiarism- It is an act in which a student copies someone others work or tends to use the
earlier made assignment in the name of his own and thus by this the student engages themselves
in needles trouble and the universities takes strict action on these misconducts. Thus in this the
student can get various types of penalties that are failure form the course in which the individual
is enrolled, academic dishonestly case can be also files, dismissal from the university, etc are the
major problems that can be faced by a student if he becomes a contender of plagiarism. It is also
one of the most serious crime and due to the breach of the code of academic honour it can lead to

the destruction of the image and reputation of the university and the student can face many
charges because of that and thus an individual must abide by all the laws so that it can lead to
attainment of the desired degree and job in the future. So a person must not copy the exact work
of others and rather focus on preparing it with the knowledge that he possesses and the learning’s
that he got in the university.
Collusion- It is a situation when individuals work together and do the work in a group
rather than individually and thus it is regarded as the misconduct if the academic part and thus it
is very important for every individual to work separately so that it can lead to the
accomplishment of the desired goals and objectives that are set at the beginning. Thus it can be
said that students can take help of the teacher so that they can better understand the topic so as to
complete the assignment in the stipulated time period with full accuracy and preciseness which
can lead to overall development of the student rather than completing it by making groups. In
this the students doesn’t copy the things but they do somewhat similar with each other and hence
it is regarded as collusion in which more than one person completes the work together (Gielnik,
Zacher and Schmitt, 2017).
Data fabrication or falsification- It is a misconduct which happens when a student takes
false information in his assignment and completes it with that data only. Also it includes using
someone’s user id and password so as to do the assignment in time and thus by doing the
individual becomes a candidate of data fabrication and falsification.
Bribery- It is a misconduct that involves mainly money as in it a student might say his
professor or the faculty teacher to pass him and he’ll give money, goods, or provide some sort of
services as per the requirements of the teacher and thus it can cause trouble for both that is the
teacher and the student. The other form of bribery is that a person can give an amount to other
individual or a company so that they can complete the assignment for the student as per the
needs of the person and thus it also has many negative repercussions of it. The effect of bribery
can be removal of both the teacher as well as the student from the university in the first case and
in the second one it can result in the removal of the student and the company can lose its license
of operating in the market.
Thus it can be said that the academic misconduct depends on the seriousness of the crime
and thus punishment can vary from lenient in case of normal misconduct while it can go beyond

harsher and harder in case of serious misconduct. Also it can result in the loss of opportunity and
can also hamper the career plans of the individual in the future (Johnson, 2018).
The ways by which academic misconduct can be avoided- The things that can be done
so as to avoid the misconduct is by citing references and doing the work in a proper manner and
nit letting other persons copy the tasks.

Identifying and reflecting the major steps that has been taken and the difficulties that are faced
during the preparation of the game for the project 2
The preparation of the game involves mainly two three main aspects like designing,
developing, and using appropriate graphics so that it can attract a number of individuals that are
able and willing to play the game. Since the main aim of the game is to develop an understanding
among students so that they can use their knowledge in the right direction. The use of mostly
Harvard type of referencing is seen and thus it can be used by the students accordingly. Different
in text citations must be used in an effective and efficient manner (Laukkanen and Tura, 2020).
The difficulties that I faced is in terms of not having enough knowledge about how to
develop a game in an appropriate manner and also different aspects like designing also created a
lot of problems for me in the starting.
In the card game I got black card and hence it became difficult for me to get on to the
white card and thus I got a bit confused in that.
Examination of the skills that are learned by me in the whole year which proved beneficial for
me while producing the game in an appropriate manner
There are a number of different skills that developed in me and there are various skills that
I was having but still lacking something in between it made me improve those skills too. The
skills developed are Power point, paint, word, etc.
Apart from that I also develop different skills that is honesty, ethics, etc. which helped me
to carry out all the activities with full accuracy (Priem, Wenzel and Koch, 2018).
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above that academic integrity is a very important aspect and
thus each student must abide by all the laws and regulations that are formed so that academic
misconduct cannot be implied on them. There are various factors that have to be kept in mind

while preparing assignments and thus all has to be analysed and evaluated in a proper manner by
the student so that it can help them to grow in the current time.
