INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity allows students in terms of creating and building new ideas within
respecting and acknowledging the work of the others. Academic integrity is highly important as
this leads to guide students in terms of conducting fair work within showing complete honesty
(Tatum, 2022). There are major five values of academic integrity and those are- trust, respect,
fairness, honesty and responsibility. The present report is based on the importance of academic
integrity. The report will highlight the importance of academic integrity in higher education and
implication of the academic misconduct will also be explained. Lastly, the reflection in context
of producing the game will be shown.
SECTION 1
Analysing the importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity has been considered as highly important for the students who are
studying in higher classes as it is highly important for them to manage academic integrity.
Otherwise, academic misconduct leads to impact their study procedure which impacts their
professional character development. In case, any student cheats and does not follow ethics then,
student get fail in test and along with this student also get failed in the self-development process.
In order to get educational degree that shown effective academic results of the students it is
highly important that student must perform the academic integrity. Otherwise, students have to
face heavy penalties (Sotiriadou and et.al., 2020). Here is the explanation of the major
importance of academic integrity in higher education.
Assures quality improvement- Academic integrity includes fundamental values that are related
to the honesty and fair work. Thus, within using this, students can easily perform the quality
work that is concerned with the fairness. When the work is carried out within focusing over the
quality then, it results in effective work. Thus, academic integrity helps in enhancing the quality
of the work that is being done by students.
Organizes student- The another major importance of academic integrity is that is leads to
organize students in proper manner. The fundamental values of academic integrity are learned by
students which results in organizing the students in proper manner which is highly beneficial for
them from personal as well as from professional aspects.

Ethical values- Academic integrity results in delivering ethical values to students which is
highly important for the students in higher education as this lead to guide them ethics that are
mandatory which are related to plagiarism and referencing (Egan, 2018). Thus, within
conducting academic integrity student can effectively learn the ethics which will be highly
beneficial for students in their present as well as in future.
Professional and personal development- Academic integrity ensures professional and personal
development in the students as it guides students about the ethics and morals that lead to shape
the professional character of the students. Thus, in this manner professional character of the
students is being developed that supports them in future as well. Personal and professional
development are highly mandatory as this results in enhancing the future of students. This further
results in enhancing the future of students.
Effective interaction among the teachers and students- Students who perform academic
integrity effectively gain the trust of the tutor towards them as the work is being performed with
complete honesty that helps in creating effective interaction among the students and teacher.
Thus, when the effective interaction is being developed among the students and tutor then, it
automatically results in creating an effective environment in which students can effectively learn
everything.
No plagiarism and following referencing pattern- Plagiarism has been considered as illegal
attribute in the higher studies. Students who directly copy everything from google has often get
dismissed from the colleges. However, academic integrity saves students from this as under this,
students learn that they have do rephrase sentences by their own. Along with this, credit to the
actual author have also been given within doing referencing (Eaton, 2022). Thus, in this manner
students get to know, what should be done by them and what should not.
Thus, from the above stated points it has been proved that academic integrity is highly important
for the students in the higher education. Academic integrity results in teaching fundamental
values to students that are highly beneficial for them from all aspects. Thus, academic integrity
plays crucial role in enhancing the future of the students as well. Within performing fair work,
students learn about honesty and dignity which can be used by them in future as well. Also,
plagiarism has been avoided by the students and credit to the actual authors is being also given
by students within using academic integrity concept.

Discussing the implication of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct leads to impact the future of the students as those students who does
not follow academic integrity gets the low grade and often in their results they get negative
marking which impacts their future. Thus, Academic misconduct has been determined as the
cheating which occurs in the relation of academic exercise (Parnther, 2020). The universities and
colleges takes all the report seriously which are related to the academic misconduct and deal with
those reports in fair manner. The major examples of the academic misconduct are related to
copying the work of others, allowing others copy own work and using materials such as-
textbook and notes during the test.
Thus, these are the major examples of academic misconduct that can lead to impact the
character and future of the students (Awasthi, 2019). Therefore, students must follow academic
integrity which helps them to grow from all aspects and often save students from the academic
misconduct. It has been found from various studies that, academic dishonesty is directly linked
with the academic misconduct which results in heavy penalties. In case, academic misconduct is
consistently repeated by a student then, it directly results in creating the threat in future for
students. In the result it is being mentioned that student has been part of academic misconduct
and when students go for interviews then, it directly results in impacting the image of students as
well.
Therefore, students should not follow academic misconduct as the consequences are highly
negative that can lead to impact the future of students and it can often provide negative impact
over the well oriented career. In higher education, focus of the students must be on academic
integrity so, they can effectively learn the core values of academic.
SECTION 2
Reflection
Reflection plays vital role in performing the self-analysation. With the help of reflection an
individual can know about their potential strength and weakness (White, Laxton and Brooke,
2018). I have prepared a game and in order to know which skills has been developed in me while
producing game here is the reflection has been performed by me.
During this session I have prepared the game “Fun and Brain time”, This game was related
to the academic integrity concept. While producing the game I have analysed numerous elements
related to my strength and weakness. Thus, it was really mandatory experience for me as I have

learned the major skills which has been proven highly beneficial for me. Thus, in this manner I
have learned the major skills which will be highly beneficial for me in my future as well. The
major skills that has been learned by me is related to digital, analytical, communication and time
management skill. In order to prepare the game, I have done critical analysation as well which
has often enhanced by critical analysation skills. In order to select the game concept, I have made
searches so, I can become able to produce the games. At that time, I was confused that which
game should be produced. However, my critical analysation skill has helped me as I evaluated all
the selected concept and on the basis of that I have selected the most interesting option. Thus, I
evaluated the negative and positive point of each selected concept and that game is being
selected by me that was consist of positive points. Thus, in this manner I have develop critical
analysation skills in me. In order to prepare the game, I have used the online platform as well
which has enable me to develop digital skills in me as well. So, in this manner I become able to
learn digital skills as well. Earlier I used to hesitate while communicating with my mates and
tutor. Ineffective communication skill has always down my confidence which has resulted in
lack of listening and speaking ability.
However, at the time of producing game I have made effective communication with my
tutor and mates as well in terms of preparing the game. I have explained everything to the in
well-defines manner. This has boost up my confidence level and I become aware about my
ability which is effective communication skill. Thus, I will use this ability in my future in order
to make effective interaction with my colleagues. Thus, I can say that I have changed my
weakness into the strength while producing game which has been proven highly beneficial for
me. The major challenges that has been faced by me was related to ineffective time management.
However, I have improved this skill in me within producing the game on time. I have parted one
major goal in different task and I have allotted specific time period for each task. Thus, in this
manner strategy is being prepared by me and I have completed my task on time. As a result,
major goal has been achieved by me on time and the challenges related to time management has
been faced by me.
I will use this skill in future as well. Time management skill is highly important as this leads
to impact my professionalism at the workplace and often help me to assure effective outcomes
on a given time (Rose and et.al.,2020). In every project I have learned something. However, this
project was special for me as this was related to game designing. Also, this project has made me

aware about the importance of academic integrity in the higher studies. The concept of the game
was based on the academic integrity concept in which the major knowledge is being gain by me
and by the students who have taken part in the game. I have designed certain questions that was
related to the academic integrity and the question is being asked to the students within giving
them options. The selection of the students has been done within parting them in team and they
have passed the ball to each other. Thus, in this manner starting of the game has been done.
The another skill that has been developed in me during game project was decision-making
and leadership skill. As I have taken the major decision within analysing all the aspects of the
decision. Therefore, each decision that has been taken by me has provided me benefits. Also, I
have analysed leadership skill as I have guided students in proper manner in relation of playing
game (Brandt, 2018). Thus, I can say that I got multiple opportunities while producing game as I
have become able to develop important skill in me. Also, I have changed my weakness into
strength which has been proven highly beneficial for me.
Thus, I will all these skills and knowledge in my future as well. This will provide me
numerous benefits and also this will influence me in terms of performing my task in proper
manner. I will make effective interaction at my workplace within using all the skills that have
been learned by me during this project.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is being concluded that academic integrity plays vital role in
assuring the fair work by the students. In higher education, students make numerous assignments
that requires academic integrity in them. without performing academic integrity students cannot
become able to perform the fundamental values that are related to trust and honesty. Thus,
academic integrity helps in making students more disciplined and enhance their personal as well
as professional development that results in enhancing the career of student as well. Thus, the
final conclusion that is being arrived is that academic integrity is highly important for the
students in order to learn about ethics and values.
