INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity is a crucial concept which is related to follow the predefined norms,
rules as well as regulations which have been prepare for maintaining reputation of educational
institute. Here, some values are formulated by respective universities and academic institutions
to regulate behavior as well as practice of students & staff (Bretag, 2016). Main aim of academic
integrity is to prevent dishonest and inappropriate behavior such as plagiarism and more. In
addition, academic integrity is important to bring new as well as innovative ideas to develop new
knowledge. There are some predefined pillars of academic integrity such as honesty, trust,
fairness and respect. In the current report, importance of academic integrity has been discussed
in detail along with implication of misconduct in academics. Along with this, it also comprises
difficulties encountered during evolution of game. Lastly, it includes different set of skills which
have been developed during game.

Description of academic integrity:
Academic integrity refers to a practice to prevent dishonest and inappropriate approaches
in academic practices. It is related to demonstrate honest as well as moral behavior in academic
setting. It is the responsibility of both students & staff members to maintain integrity within
education institutions. For students, they are required to avoid plagiarism, copying assignments
and projects and other inappropriate practice. On other side, staff members are also required to
promote new & creative approaches within institutions for maintaining academic integrity. It is
stated that academic integrity is more crucial at university level as here it is essential to provide
credit to other people for their contribution. In this regard, there are some pillars of academic
integrity which are mentioned underneath:
Honesty: It is the most crucial pillar of academic integrity which is considered fair as
well true efforts of individuals to get success. As per this, individuals need to perform task within
educational institutions with great honesty and fairly (Keefer, Brown and Rothschild, 2020).

Trust: Trust is important to maintain strong relationship with other individuals who are
involved within team. Trust is considered as the most important foundation for any relationship
which is vital to attain predefined group objectives.
Fairness: This is another crucial component of academic integrity as per which all the
tasks in academics need to done with fairness. For this, staff members as well as students need to
be fair enough while performing their task. Here, faculties need to evaluate work of students in
fair manner for maintain academic integrity within institutions.
Respect: Respect is regarded to listen as well as give importance to the view points of
other individuals. In Academic integrity, it is the responsibility of both students as well as staff
members to respect each other. For this, students need to listen professor and complete the
assigned task within set deadlines. On other side, teachers also required to listen innovative as
well as creative ideas of students.
Responsibility: It refers to acknowledge accountability for own work. It is regarded as
crucial component of academic integrity where individuals significantly invest time as well as
effort to perform their work with complete integrity (Lancaster, 2018).
Importance of academic integrity
Academic integrity is a vital concept at higher level of education as it helps to bring out
new creativity as well as innovation in academic setting. It ensures to undertake all the activities
related to academics carried out in fair as well as ethical manner. In addition, it also helps to
maintain strong prestige of university at market place. If, a university or college indulge in any
kind of inappropriate activity, it might hamper their existing reputation. Here, academic integrity
is considered as the fundamental of learning, teaching as well as research at university level. It
helps to bring new, knowledge, creativity as well as ideas with due respect and acknowledge the
efforts of other individuals. Apart from this, academic integrity is crucial to maintain the
credibility of studies. It is stated that it helps to safeguard reputation of educational institution
and significantly contributes in societal well being. In addition, academic integrity depicts that
the degree of students is completely authentic and get by fair efforts. This practice is further
helpful to maintain the dignity of degree & receive necessary opportunities of future growth and

success. Therefore, academic integrity ensures fair practices in educational setting by minimizing
dishonest as well as inappropriate approaches (Myers, Hardy and Mason, 2019).
Implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct is a serious issue which might have serious implications. It comprise
getting involve in different kinds of inappropriate activities such as cheating, plagiarism and
other such activities. It moreover depends on respective universities as they have right to
determine the consequences for academic misconduct. In addition, there are some general
implication have also been determined by the higher authorities which need to follow by all
educational institutions. For this purpose, different implications of academic misconduct are
given as under:
There are some actions such as imposing fines, loss of future projects considered as the most
crucial implications of academic misconduct. Generally, these kinds of activities have major
implications as it not only hamper existing brand image of university but also put adverse impact
on the future of other students (Orr, 2018).
 Sometimes getting involved in academic misconduct might lead a student towards
suspension and rustication from college which will ruin their whole future. Also,
involved students do not get admission in other universities. So, it harms existing image
of respective educational institute and also destroy the future of student.
 It is sated that implication also differs as per the nature of misconduct. If, a student does
misconduct in presenting assignments, research project then instructor can take required
actions such as redo of assignment, fail student in the assignment evaluation and more.
Thus, there are different kinds of implications from failing students to suspend them from
college for rest of the year.
 Academic misconduct is also incurs loss of intellectual property. For instance, plagiarism
is considered as stealing someone’s original work. Sometimes, other person use the
creation of author within permission. This misconduct not only hampers intellectual
property of author but also the put adverse impact on income & reputation (VanDeGrift,
Dillon and Camp, 2017).
 It is sated that students who are involved in academic misconduct, they feel guilt, self
esteem issues for longer duration. They losses their self respect which can further lead

toward depression, anxiety and other issues. So, academic dishonest is not only have
legal implication but it also affect the self esteem, respect of individuals.
So, there are a lot of implications have been examined of academic misconduct. It might
create social, legal as well as other implications. So, it is vital for higher authorities to take
necessary steps for prevention of dishonest practices in academic setting.

Reflect the steps taken for producing the game along with difficulties
Step for producing the game
There are some steps which need to undertake in order to produce a game. In current
scenario, am going to develop a card game that will help me to driven desired outcomes. For this
purpose, necessary steps are given as under:
 For this, I first determined the concept to develop the whole game. In current scenario, I
developed a card game to develop appropriate knowledge & competencies in students.
 After developing concept and gathering necessary information, I developed the game and
invite students to take part in it so that I can test my game. By this way, I will be able to
know that whether the game will be effective or not.
 After getting positive results, I will launch the game in real context with an aim to get
predefined outcomes.
Difficulties in producing the game:
Firstly, it is not easy to develop appropriate idea and thoughts. For this, I need to execute
extensive market research so that I can develop such a game which will help me to get desired
outcomes. In this market research, I have to develop ample of time as well as cost that enhance
overall cost of project. In addition, get acceptance of game is not an easy task. I need to perform
a lot of marketing efforts to get acceptance from individuals. After development of game, it is
vital to take care of its maintenance so that predefined results can be received. For this, I have to
devote a lot of time for maintaining game in proper manner. While developing the game, there
are a lot of security concerns which may be related to legal issues regarding the game. Here, I

consider all the legalities while developing the game in order to avoid any kind of issues which
may arise in future. Therefore, I faced several difficulties while developing the game. These
difficulties are related to resources, acceptance, maintenance and more. I also formulated several
strategies in order to cope up with these difficulties in an efficient manner.
Reflection of skills learned during semester and game production
It is stated that I developed ample of skills during the semester. I developed management
skills as I got an opportunity during the semester to manage different activities. Management
skills are important to manage ample of activities in best possible way to attain predefined
objectives. With this, I will be a able to perform my roles and responsibilities in an appropriate
way that will put better impression on peers and other person. Further, I also manage team
including several individuals during different activities conducted within the semester. It
developed leadership skills that will help me to guide as well as manage team of individuals in
an efficient way. By this, I will be able to provide appropriate direction to team mates by
formulating necessary strategies. While developing the game, I need to schedule different
activities in such as manager that task can be fulfilled within predefined time. By this way, I got
exponential time management skills that will assist me to attain predefined objectives within
deadlines. Time management skill is also crucial to make optimum use of available hours by
doing productive task. Here, I need to divide all the activities in an efficient way so that project
can be completed within set deadlines. In addition, I also developed good communication skills
as I got an opportunity to interact with different individuals while producing game. It is stated
that communication skills is imperative to put better impression on other people. With this skill, I
have great opportunity to grow in future and interact with my peers, colleagues and other
individuals in an impressive way. By this, I will get huge scope of career enrichment &
enhancement. For developing a game, creative as well innovative skills are vital so that one can
produce such a game that grabs attention of individuals. For this, I brainstormed a lot of creative
ideas and thoughts so that I can bring something innovative & creative at market place.
Therefore, I got several competencies during semester and game production that will help in
getting enriching opportunities to ensure future growth & success.

CONCLUSION
It is summarized that academic integrity is concern with maintain higher integrity,
fairness in academic setting. Under this, main emphasis is to avoid dishonest as well as
inappropriate practices in academics. Discussion has been carried out regarding importance of
academic integrity in higher education. In addition, there are a lot of implications of academic
misconduct such as imposing fines, suspension and more which can bring serious consequences
for students. It is concluded that there are a lot of issues that may be related to funds, resources
and more need to face while developing a game. Further, there are different skills like
communication, time management, innovative skills and so on can also be developed during
development of game.
