INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity accounts for the commitment and the presentation of the honest and
moral behaviour in respect to the academic setting. This is very relevant at the university level
pertaining to providing credit to the people whose work has been used for the completion of the
work. It is most for the successful life after the completion of higher education. It draws about
the relevance, implication of academic integrity in the higher education. In addition, it covers the
difficulties encountered while producing game and the skills learned on producing game during
the academic year.
SECTION 1
Introduction about academic integrity
Academic integrity represents the value which underpin everything that one studies in
university. It depicts the values of honesty and integrity, fairness pertaining to the creation of
knowledge. All the staff and the students are required to apply these values in the activities and
along with that implement ethical behaviour pertaining to the broader academic enquiry. In order
to be a successful, it is important to understand what is academic misconduct and determining
the ways for avoiding it, is very important (Luck and et.al., 2021). It simply refers to making use
of the honest means for completing the academic task and providing proper credit to the work of
others if used. It is the fundamental principle pertaining to the scholarship and as such offers
rationale which provides guidance to each one of us to be carried out in practice. The university
needs the students to act with integrity in addition to abiding with the regulations in respect to
the academic misconduct. Through the way of developing ethical behaviour in work assists in
meeting with the standards of conduct which helps the student preparing for the professional life
after graduation. In future, employers not only requires critical reasoning and oral expression but
along with that ethical behaviour which is mainly learned from the academic life. The main
values of honesty and accountability results into informed research, expansion of knowledge
base along with publishing standards at academic institutions all across the world. These values
are important in life as well pertaining to industry practice. Understanding this will lead to
avoiding the chances of engaging into the academic misconduct which involves plagiarism,
cheating or falsifying the academic documents. On getting caught of such misconduct, it can
result into harsh outcomes even expulsion affecting the future of the student.

Importance of academic integrity
It is important to uphold the academic integrity which involves presenting the values like
honesty, fairness, respect and responsibility pertaining to learning, teaching and research. Having
the knowledge of academic integrity is very beneficial to the students as it provides a better
understanding about the expression of one's ideas and opinion pertaining to a specific topic and
assist in understanding how to credit the sources in order to avoid academic misconduct
(Anohina-Naumeca, Birzniece and Odiņeca, 2020). The Academic integrity is important which is
mainly because of the reason that the dishonest behaviour results into undermining the learnings
along with the credibility of the university which helps in promoting well-being of the society. It
is important to understand the relevance of academic integrity and in ability to do so will result
into breach of academic integrity, consequently leading to diminishing the student, university
and the trust of the public pertaining to the academic endeavours.
It is important for the emergence of the new ideas as the student will act honestly in
respect to the completion of the tasks, assessments. It depicts the new path in regard to how the
new knowledge is built and offers proper acknowledgement to the people whose work is being
utilized. After learning this, it depicts how the person is able to understand the material being
read and results into clearer analysis of the topic resulting into better understanding. It is a great
opportunity for the students in respect to effectively carrying out the assessment tasks with the
honest and ethical behaviour. It also supports in avoiding the bad consequences such as failing
the test or even worse being asked to leave the university (Burke and Bristor, 2017). Student is
spending time and efforts in studies for attaining a degree which will be a stepping stone in
respect to the success in the career which is completely based upon the professional knowledge
and practice. Thus, the relevance of academic integrity is very important and crucial in regard to
giving direction to the students academic as well as professional life which cannot be ignored
and is for the betterment of the students itself but the reputation of the university is also attached
to it in case any breach of conduct takes place. The academic integrity is not only just related to
the students but also the staffs, researchers and administrators.
Implication of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct refers to the any type of dishonesty, cheating, fraud that are being
conducted within the campus and during any formal exercise. The basic motive of conducting
these academic curriculum is that knowledge could be transferred smoothly and efficiently

among the learners where none of the wrong activities like tampering, falsification, unauthorized
and malicious interference and dishonesty with the students needs to be avoided. The
implications of the academic misconduct are that the environment of learning is spoiled and
accordingly the learners get demotivated and do not achieve equivalent benefit from the studies
that are conducted.
Post the academic misconduct there are several consequences that are suffered by the
learners in the University one of which is that they shall face social consequences of by seeing
these acts they shall be morally and ethically depreciated and receive the habit of cheating and
will apply unfair means to excel in life. Apart from that if the academic matter is stolen from a
copyright protected source it shall make loss of the intellectual property as well arise plagiarism.
Sometimes the academic misconduct that is done shall be availing legal actions on the students
and the faculty as they have used unfair means and cheated over somebody. This can cause
claims, penalties and charges against the Institute. It is better for the people in academic to work
fair and honest.
SECTION 2
Presenting the steps which will taken and identifying the difficulties encounters while producing
game
In order to develop a game, first, I would understand the concept of academic integrity
and for that I search different websites that helps me to understand the concept in better manner.
Next, I devote time to analyze is there any games which helps me to minimize plagiarism and for
that, I read study materials and online websites (Rachmawati, 2017). Also, to search relevant to
the topic, I also used keywords such as game + remove plagiarism + designing that helps to
identify the list of games can be played for the same. In next step, I go through the instructions
already marked on the website and try to understand the same, then I wrote the same (in
rephrasing manner). As per the game instruction, it contains a spinning wheel and multi-colored
cards which reflect the awareness and knowledge pertaining to plagiarism.
In the next stage, I played game by so that it helps me to identify my knowledge with
regard to academic integrity. Also, through Google, I search for different things which in turn
helps me to understand the example of misconduct so that it will help me to enhance the
knowledge as well. Further, there are different rules defined to design a game which needs to be
read thoroughly so that it will assist me to understand the game properly. Lastly, I would

recommend others to play the game so that they also realize the concept effectually. This in turn
assists me to produce the game properly and also let other know about the game as well.
In addition to this, I also find different difficulties while producing the game such that I
do not possess strong ICT knowledge and that is why, I am not able to design the game
effectively. Also, there is a need to improve such knowledge because it might affect the overall
presentation of a game in opposite manner. Apart from this, I do not have strong creativity skills
and that is why, I face difficulty to design the game effectually. Though I am able to search
content in internet but due to lack of creativity and innovation skills, I face difficulties while
designing. It is so because designing a game requires innovative and creativity skills that
encourage other to participate that also shows their knowledge pertaining to chosen topic.
Besides this, I also face difficulties to research the content with regard to chosen topic.
As academic integrity can be done in many forms and as a result, I got confused regarding
questions which can be asked within a card. Also, it is analysed that due to having a vast content
regarding the chosen topic, I am confused, but with the help of my tutor, I am able to design a
game in effective manner that clearly demonstrate how to apply the game so that it assists me to
minimize the error and also improve the skills pertaining to chosen topic.
Reflection on the skills learned during the academic year and those emphasized on producing
game
During this academic year have gained various skills which is very important for my
career development and professional life. I have learned the skills of in-depth research,
understanding the current requirement and the knowledge base. This is helpful for me in
undertaking research pertaining to the specific topic which helped me in effective completion of
my project (Galván-Sánchez and et.al., 2017). In addition to this, it helped me in gaining
analytical skills which supported in determining the relevance of the data as just a mere data is of
no use until one is having the ability to derive relevant information from it. Thus, my searching
and analytical skills expanded. I have also learned skills on effective communication which is
important to conveying intended message to another person without any confusion or jumble of
the words. For me, it is the most important thing which otherwise, I wouldn't have achieved in
any other way.
In respect to producing game, I have leaned various skills like effective writing skills as
this task required clear and proper writing of the steps and instruction of the game so that it is

easy to understand for the others. It helped in improved my designing and creative knowledge
and helped me in identifying my inherent skills which I was not aware of before. This skill
involves designing of the game which required hard brainstorming and the outcome of which can
be seen at the game produced (Joseph and Sherine, 2019). In addition to this, it has helped me in
improvising my power point presentation skills which has also helped me in the completion of
the task in a better and effective way. The way of preparing the presentation along with the usage
of the various power point features helped in gaining expertise into it which is very essential for
my future career growth and development. It is also important to note that all the skills which I
have learned are the core and the basic skills which can be used in any field of study pertaining
to career development. Thus, these are the specific skills which I have learned during my
academic year and through producing the game.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above that the there is an importance of academic integrity
which results into giving direction to the students behaviour and code of conduct. In case, a
student fails to meet with the standard conduct then it may result into academic misconduct.
Thus, a student is required have knowledge about the negative implication of the misconduct.
There were various difficulties which came across while producing the game but with the help of
structured steps resulted in successful completion of the task. This task resulted enhancement in
the skills such as the power-point knowledge, writing skills designing and creative skills.
