mostly school and colleges. These include learning different languages, strategies,
problem solving ability, time management, accounting and many more. These help a
person in building of career paths, effective communication and many different
aspects (Adams, Turner and Eaton, 2021). The following report has been divided in
two sections. Section 1 includes description of academic integrity, its importance in
higher education, brief of the term academic misconduct and its several implications
are discussed in section 1. The another section includes difficulties the author faced
in producing the game in its second project. It then includes the skills the author has
learned and that has been used in producing the game.
Section 1
An Introduction including a description of Academic Integrity
An academics related community such as universities and boards are build
with some values which decide its goodwill in the education market on which basis
its admission quantity and quality of students depend. Some of the related values
include respect, honesty, trust and fairness among all the studying or examinations
participants who provide their examinations/ assessments or tasks with these values.
Not only the students but all the related community that include teachers, examiners,
researchers and many more are responsible for maintaining these fair values (Ard
and Ard, 2019). Its importance, academic misconduct term and some of its activities
are further included in this report.
A discussion of the importance of academic integrity in higher
education
Academic skills of a person are made of several core skills. The career and many
other important elements of life depends on these skills. So these must be real in a
person to use them in their employment services or somewhere else depending on
its academic standards and profiles. The use of academic integrity is important in
many ways, some of them are as follows:
Document Page
Self development – Its important for a person to give himself the best
chances of success by doing given assessments with honest attitude. It helps
in providing stability by avoiding the bad consequences like failing, restriction
from the university and some legal issue through practicing fair values
(Barnhardt and Ginns, 2017). When a person invests his time and effort for
acquiring a particular degree, which can be his biggest point of a successful
life. He must ensure that his learnings are pure so the foundation of his
professional life stands on strong pillars of information not on some insincere
activities just for getting the degree and this increases the chances of getting
a valued post, employment or job.
University's worth – The way people see a particular university depends on
how its staff and students work in it. It needs to be consistent in its
educational standards for getting a trustworthy image with full of confidence
from the spectating community that its graduates are of high value and with
appropriate knowledge of the relevant courses. This trust of community
provide the university with great and high number of students thus providing it
with big revenues. People are fine with high fees when the university is
worthy. Also the graduates are proud of their universities after getting passed
due to their strong foundation of knowledge.
Evolution – The changing of human needs and demands are consistent for
this ever changing world. Real education provide a person with detailed
information about his relevant topic or job. This helps in getting to the root
causes and finding new and advanced ways for doing the current activities
with more efficiency or satisfaction level (Bens and et. al., 2021).
Genuine credit Researchers, writers and other content or new ideas
providers perform high level of hard work and creativity usage in their works.
Academic integrity provides them with genuine credit when using them in their
study materials. It let them build their own identity as a return of their
challenging innovations and researches.
Legal regulations – Universities and educational related authorities have
several guidelines in respect of academic integrity which are needed to be
followed by the related community (Gomes and Goncharova, 2021). In case
of breaking these guidelines, the relevant person can be given harsh

punishments like warning, restriction from the university or particular college /
school, reexamination, money related penalties and can even be imprisoned.
These depend on the level of misconducting activities practiced.
Discuss the implications of academic misconduct
It is the activity of practicing or attempting to practice an act of doing an
academics related assessment, examination or task with using of some unfair means
for self or for any other member that is prior to do the relevant tasks. This is done
with the motive of getting an academic related advantage (DiPaulo, 2021). There are
various types of academic misconducting activities, some are them are elaborated
below:
Plagiarism – This is an activity in which the user copies or uses some other
person's work and show that as their own work without using appropriate
references, source or without the owner / writer's consent. Plagiarism can also
be upraised even when the acknowledgment is used as some data need use
of copyrights in its utilization. There are few tools or games that help in
recognizing plague if the text of two contents match. The use of this activity
can also lead to failing in assessments or even legal actions. This can be in
many forms such as drawing, graph, screenshot other than the obvious one
written and can also be renowned unintentionally in similarity of thoughts.
Cheating – This is a commonly used way of achieving academic related
advantage in middle level of education (schools and colleges). When an
individual copy, buy , use internet modes, do an activity or particularly
assignments (in reference of educational activities) with the help of any other
person in not allowed circumstances, it is called cheating (Eaton and Boisvert,
2021). It is a frankly acceptable and used academic misconduct activity at
some educational institutions.
Theft or damage of intellectual property – Permanent or temporary stealing
of some other person's documents or assignments and using them with the
motive of gaining academic advantage comes under this type. This can also
include stealing or getting a copy of the original exam paper before the
examination or its authentic release for all.

Fraud or false information – This type of academic misconduct include the
use of false information in context of an academic assignment or even using
of different person that is better in the related examination in place of the
examine (Eaton, 2021).
Section 2
Reflect on the steps you have taken, and difficulties encountered in
producing the game for Project 2
Academic integrity is one of the crucial element in this education accompanying
evolving world. It allow us to build new and innovative ideas in the minds of students
for a better and colorful future. But due to the increasing use of academic
misconducting activities, the standards of pure education is getting effected.
Plagiarism is being top of them in the research aspect. Considering the use of these
misconducting activities and the importance of academic integrity, I decided to do
something to minimize the unfair practices and make it a honest and consistent in
my power by a game that can help towards it. I decided to make a quiz game. It was
near to impossible for me to code a complicated game alone. So I started seeking for
some members who would be excited for this task. After finding few like minded and
intelligent students of different classes, we started the process. Then we discussed
about the type of the game that will be efficient and effective. A quiz game was then
finalized about the paraphrasing, plagiarism and other misconducts used In
completing projects and assignments in universities. The formation process of the
quiz started. Manner, accordance and several required rules were decided further.
We focused that the rules must be easy to use and understand to easily be
understood by every player and spectator. Certain documentations and permissions
needed were then focused as we wanted a fair game that can deeply make an
impact. We also took some practice sessions to identify the mistakes and spots that
were needed to be rectified.
Some of the difficulties that were encountered by us in producing the game are
as follows :
Finding teammates – Some intelligent and cooperative mates were required
as it was so hard for me to alone design and perform the game. Members that

could make a good and supportive team together was also necessary to avoid
conflicts. Finding individuals that had the needed skills and were ready to
work for this project was the most challenging part of the process.
Identifying the game type – The misconducting activities are of various
types and done in various ways. So we needed a game that would work for
minimizing all these activities. There are several already presented game for
this in the market and something different was only going to get appreciation.
All these factors obstructed but through good team work we got different
useful ideas and got to one result on majority basis.
Reflect on the skills you have learned this academic year and those
emphasized in producing your game
Communication skills – This is the most common and useful skill in human
life. These are the abilities of giving and taking different kinds of information
between each other. This is an far elaborated and disputed topic of different
authors and speakers. It also include body movements, listening and reacting
abilities. Me and the other teammates leaned this skill in deep in the process
of producing the game. I went to different people for leaning about several
implications, getting ideas and for collaborating and explaining the task for
building of the team. In our group, we worked with cooperation by listening to
every member's idea and wants. To bring out the quiz game in front of all the
audience, confident speaking was required. Firstly every member of our team
neglected to go on the stage, but after practicing these skills a lot, all
members were eager to confront the quiz in front of all the school/ university.
Creativity - This skills help a person to view things differently and produce
innovative ideas. In the corresponding task, we motivated all the team mates
to put their ideas forward and practiced group discussions to find different
solutions and contents. The members were also given their individual space
to deeply think and find something innovative. The game helped all the team
mates to develop their creativity skill.
Problem solving – Many problem comes in day to day life of a person.
Developing this skill help in finding new and different solutions to different
problems. In the activity of forming quiz, many different problems came in

front of us such as solving the conflicts of the team, finding the cheap and
effective materials used and choosing the best ideas and these were
effectively solved which helped us in developing this skill of ours.
Conclusion
In the above report it has been concluded that, academic integrity is an
essential element in acquiring fair educational values to students and should be
honestly practiced by all the academic related community. There can be several
important points with their reference of academic integrity. Some of those several
points can be self development, maintaining university's goodwill, providing genuine
credit to the source, evolution and legal involvement. The topic 'academic
misconduct' is a topic of concern. There may be various implication and types that
are being used by some people for getting unfair academic advantages. The covered
ways in which these misconducting happens are – plagiarism, cheating, theft and
fraud. Then, there is information about a quiz game which is made to minimize the
misconduct. There are many steps taken and difficulties faced in making process of
any related game. Some of the difficulties can be in finding the teammates or
employee (on larger level), identifying the game type, getting the resources needed.
