Professional practices nee a constant up gradation to enhance the knowledge and practice.
This study is based on an article of professional practice. There would be an analysis of the
theories in the section of professional practice in nursing. Other than that the study also
includes the effective methods of identifying and analysing the peer reviewed articles. The
discussion of two strategies for identifying the right resource for journals would be done. One

resources.
Discussion

understand the theories and practices in this subject, an article has been selected. This article

2ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Purpose: the main purpose of this article is to analyse the connection between self-concept
and clinical performance.
My approach to identify the right research is that the article must be peer reviewed. In the
peer-reviewed journals, the information is available in the database and there is a clear
mention of the peer-reviewed articles. To analyse these articles, one must first consider the
methodology of the study. To understand that the methodology is appropriate for the study or
not and how the author has analysed the data collected is the second priority (Highfield et al.,
2016). All the research gaps of the article must be reviewed in the course.
Two main strategy to identify the appropriate peer reviewed journals are- using library data
base and to plan my search (Harper, Aucoin & Warren, 2016). Using the library data base
gives authenticity to the search, while planning the search would make the process easy and
systematic.
Library data base the most effective way to find the peer reviewed articles. The resources in
the library data bases are scholarly and authentic. The articles are been reviewed by the
experts in the subjects and high quality articles are found in the library database resources.
Conclusion
Finally to could be said that finding the right type of article for the research is quite
important. Peer-reviewed articles are of high quality and they are authentic. In the nursing
profession to understand the relation between professional knowledge, self-concept and
practice are all related. One would get positive outcome if they concentrate on all these
theories while performing their job roles.
