see in the work (de Maio, Dixon and Yeo, 2020). Academic plagiarism usually occurs when
an individual is using some of the material from already available sources and the work is
precise reference of the original source of author or their research. Plagiarism is increasingly
evidently in business as well as academic. The consequences of plagiarism can be personal,
professional, ethical as well as legal. It is necessary for an individual to make sure that they
are avoiding plagiarism in order to avoid any consequence that can affect their career
negatively.
While linking academic plagiarism to business environment it can be evaluated that
ethics is extremely important issue in every business organisation. And an employee in the
organisation is not only measured by the work they are performing but also the integrity and
professionalism that they are showing in the work. Integrity is necessary component for
students in their academic experience as well as in their professional life. It is often expected

will understand that they are doing the right thing. It is necessary that one is constantly acting
with all the believes and generating integrity. It will also help in reducing unnecessary stress
and anxiety in life of individuals making them healthy, happy and productive for the
organisation.
When working in a business organisation it is necessary to maintain academic
integrity and avoid plagiarism as the reputation of a business profession can be destroyed if
they are plagiarising the work. It will not only result in them losing their jobs but it can also
degrade their position in the organisation. This will also make it difficult for them to attain a
reputable job in the future. It is often considered as an offence and it can ruin their career in
long run. Apart from this there are also a number of different legal repercussions that
individuals my face due to plagiarism (Guraya and Guraya, 2017). The replications of
plagiarism can be quite serious as they are our Absolute laws regarding copyrights. One
cannot use the material of other person without references or citation. The writer or the author
have rights to take legal actions against the plagiarist. There are also numbers of plagiarism
that are considered to be criminal offence this can lead individual to prison sentence as well.
It is often seen that the people who are writing for their living such as authors, journalist and
so on are majorly facing the repercussions of plagiarism. Writers are very well aware of the
rights regarding copyright laws and the ways through which they can avoid plagiarism.
Plagiarism may also result in monitory repercussions for the professionals who are practising
it. There are a number of news reports and articles that have exposed to the plagiarism which
are done by a number of public figures, authors and researchers. In such cases it is often seen
that the plagiarist have to face monitory restitution by the author or the writer. Due to all the
repercussions mention it is necessary that the material which is used in business organisation
should be free from any kind of plagiarism. It will make sure that the professionals are
successfully working towards all the goals and objectives of the organisation without facing
any legal or monetary issues. It will successfully help them to develop in their career along
with working positively towards personal and organisational reputation.
