Academic Integrity refers to moral code pertaining to the field of academia. The values of
academic integrity lays stress on avoiding the cheating and maintaining the academic standards. IT
refers to honesty pertaining to the research along with the academic publishing. The failure of an
individual in providing the acknowledgement amounts to plagiarism. Professional integrity refers to
the ability of an individual in carrying out the professional activities in a manner that is ethical.
Professional integrity helps in engendering climate of the trust that helps in the growth of an
organization (Ramezani, Mohammadi and Tebyanian 2017). This essay throws light on the
significance of the academic along with the professional integrity. The essay also describes how
academic and the professional integrity can be applied in education along with the industry sectors.
The essay also talks about my present knowledge pertaining to academic integrity and compares it
with my previous knowledge in relation to the academic integrity.
Academic integrity can be said to be important as it helps an individual in evolving as a
successful leader. I think that trust is the main characteristics of a leader and an individual who
abides by the norms of the academic integrity can grow to be a successful leader. I feel that
academic integrity can be said to be significant as it is instrumental in providing value to the degree.
Employers hire the graduates who have high amount of the personal integrity (Shephard 2015). In
my view, the organization wants to develop the human capital of those people who can act as a
positive influence within an organization. A person having academic integrity can carry out mission
of the company and act as a positive influence within an organization. In my opinion, the significance
of the professional integrity lies on account of the fact that it helps in building the mutual trust
between the employees of an organization. I think that an employee having the professional
integrity can help in delivering the deadlines and achieve the results. Professional integrity can help
an individual in working in a disciplined manner that can help an individual in his growth.
In my opinion, academic integrity can be applied in the sector of education with the help of a
holistic strategy that can help in shadowing the aspect of academic misconduct. Academic integrity
can be applied with the help of professional development of the staff pertaining to the academic
integrity education. The curriculum should be aligned to the institutional policy that can help in
managing academic misconduct of the students (Bealle 2017). I feel that the higher education
institutions should take a systemic approach that can help in the process of academic integrity. The
institutions should involve themselves in in-depth consideration that can help in integrating and
augmenting the institutional strategy. Academic integrity can be ensured in the event of
establishment of cross-institutional group that would be supported by the senior management. The
representatives from the various faculties can be involved that can help in ensuring academic
integrity within the educational setting (Tauginienė 2016). In my view, professional integrity can be

applied in the event of the human resource practitioners taking steps within an organization that can
ensure the process of the professional integrity. I think that the professional integrity can be applied
in the event of the head of the company keeping the employees updated about the struggles that
the business is going through. There should be clear and the frequent communication in the
organization that can help in taking care of the aspect of professional integrity in an organization
(Banks 2016). The employees working in an organization can explain the problem that they are
facing in relation to their projects that can help in taking care of the aspect of professional integrity
within the framework of an organization.
I had previously known that referencing helps in acknowledging contribution of the other
writers in one’s work. I was previously aware of the fact that university assignments drawing on the
ideas of the other people should contain the citations. Referencing helps in giving credit to the
writers from whom an individual borrows the ideas along with the words. My present understanding
pertaining to referencing is that it can play an important role in supporting the assertions. It can help
in revealing the fact that an individual is aware of the field within which an individual is operating
(Shepherd 2017). It can help in mapping space of the discipline and helps an individual in navigating
through the field of the study. My previous knowledge in relation to academic integrity was that it
helps in demonstrating moral behaviour within the academic setting. I have been able to learn that
academic integrity can help an individual in achieving the success in the professional field as it helps
an individual in behaving in a disciplined manner. I previously know that professional integrity can
help a person in working on the basis of the social standards and the moral values of the society. I
have currently been able to gather the knowledge that professional integrity can help an individual
in making the evaluative judgements beyond that of the immediate task. I have presently learnt that
recognizing the failure on the part of an individual can prove to be an effective step that can help in
taking care of the aspect of the professional integrity.
Academic integrity is indicative of moral code in relation to the academic field. Academic
integrity can help an individual in avoiding cheating that helps in the maintenance of academic
standards. Professional integrity is indicative of an individual’s ability of doing professional activities
in an ethical manner. An individual abiding by the principles of the academic integrity can become a
successful leader in the future. Professional integrity can help an individual in building trust within
the organization. Curriculum being aligned to institutional policies can help in management of
academic misconduct of students. The top management of the company should be transparent
pertaining to the current position of the company that can help a business in becoming successful.
