Introduction
Business communication is information sharing between people within and outside an
organisation. Doing the right things and sharing the right information with the honesty
policies is called integrity (Bretag, 2016). In this report, the discussion is made on the topic of
academic and professional integrity. At the beginning of report, the importance of academic
and professional integrity will be discussed. After that, the implementation of academic and
professional integrity in the education and industry sectors will be discussed. At the last of
the report, comparison will be done on the current and past understanding of academic and
professional integrity.
Definition
Academic and Professional integrity is the moral code or ethical policy of academia. It
includes the values such as avoidance of cheating and plagiarism, maintenance of academic
standards, honesty and rigor in publishing the academic publishing. It is necessary to be
loyal and trust worthy with the people who showing the trust on the education institution and
the other industry factor. It is a practice in the majority of educational institutions and it is
noted that the information is represented in honor codes. These are the qualities and
characteristics of a business and the educational institutions (Bertram Gallant, 2018).
Importance
Academic and Professional integrity is a moral values and ethics and these are important for
several reasons. The importances of academic and professional integrity are given below:
Trust

Trust is a key characteristic of a successful individual. The individual develop the high
reputation by being honest, fair, and trustworthy person. Trust is an important factor in the
academic institutions and academic integrity means the development of trust by being honest
(Giluk, and Postlethwaite, 2015).
Value to degree
There are many moral values are included in the academic sources and these are avoidance of
cheating, and less number of plagiarism. Avoidance of cheating and being honest person
provides the value of degree. An organisation hires the employee who has a degree with the
personal integrity. Value of degree means the student learn the new things and proof
themselves without any cheating practices. The company can also trust that person for their
work as per his ability and capability. These types of person develop the positive
environment in the organisation.
Peace of Mind
It also provides the peace to an individual for being a fair and honest person. It is a fact that
the mind of an individual will get peace when he/she doing the right things as per their
beliefs. Peace of mind reduces the unnecessary stress in your life and makes you happier than
the others. Doing the right things always makes the person happy, healthier and more
productive as compare to the others (Sheard, 2015).
Enhancing the knowledge
Academic integrity defines the moral values and codes such as honest, fair by putting the full
efforts and many others. Develop the value of degree enhances the knowledge of an

individual because it put the full efforts in order to learn the new things. It enhances the
knowledge and skills of an individual and that is beneficial for the future.
Implementation
Academic and Professional integrity is necessary to apply in the academic and industry
sectors. These sectors have to follow some steps and these are:
Creating culture
The educational and industry sectors have to develop a positive environment where the
ethical and moral values are very important factor. Creating the culture at workplace and in
education institution inspires the people to follows the values so that they also become a
honest person and do the right things (Chapman, and Lindner, 2016).
Provide education
The education sector has to provide the education to the students as a subject or as extra
learning. It is essential for the student because it is a right way for the students to learn the
new things and enhance their personal skills or knowledge. The industry sector has to provide
the training to employees in order to deliver the quality of services without any default and
illegal factors. In training period, it has to teach the people of organisation related to the
ethical and moral values (Thomas, and Scott, 2016).
Putting restriction of people
Industry and education sectors have to put the restriction on the people so that they do the
right things. Education sector has to develop the rules and regulation during exams and the
test due to which they do not take any unethical step.

Comparison
Earlier, I understood this concept in limited areas but after this analysis and research, it has
been seen that, it is a wide concept that is beneficial for the organisation and the student life
as well (Edwards, and Roy, 2017). It inspires me to follow the ethical and moral values
regarding the education which I did not understand earlier.
Conclusion
At the end, it is concluded that the academic and professional integration is the major practice
that can be implemented in the every sector. It is essential to implement in the educational
and industry sectors. In the education sector, it is important to adopt for the bright future of
student and in the industrial sector it is required to deliver the quality and fair services to
consumers. It is beneficial for the educational institution and the industry sector in terms of
developing trust and high brand image in the society.
