 Academic skills are the capabilities and the strategies that
helps learners to succeed in the academic setting. Such
skills encourages the learners to become more efficient in
the learning process. Whereas professional skills refers to
the development in the career of an individual through
training, certification and education.

Challenges of studying business management and thriving in
professional practice
Studying business management is the process of learning all the
aspects that helps in enhancement in establishment of the
business and efficient running of the business(Anders, 2018) .
There are many challenges that has been faced by and individual
in studying business management, some are discussed below:
 Learning to work in a team- The learning process demands
individual as well as team work or working in groups in
order to complete projects.
 Scheduling- business learners have to do a lot of
scheduling during their learning process. They have to
create a time in order to study in groups, preparing
presentations and to manage academic tasks.

The importance of effective academic skills development
Academic skills are very essential in order to enhance the
productivity and the success in career. It is also defined as the
habits and talents that pursuit academic learning. It very
important to develop academic skills that are discussed below:
 Time management- It is the capability to organise and
scheduling time effectively which develops through
studying more effectively or by devoting enough time to
work on various assignments.

The importance of effective professional skills development
Through the enhancement in the professionalism in an
individual results in achievement in the better and successful
career(Liu, Lo and Lin, 2020) . An organisation develops skill
sets and knowledge base which adds in potential of an
employee. It is very important to build effective professional
skills, some of them are discussed below:
 Opens new opportunity- Development of the professional
skills generates new opportunities which offer more
attractive packages. These opportunities develops different
career aspects in employees.

Strengths Weaknesses
Through the enhancement in the academic and professional development
in me results in development in the confidence and makes me more
productivity in my work. My confidence makes me more efficient in dealing
with different problems. Constantly performing same tasks enhances my
ability to work. These skills also evolves me as a learner. My confidence
contributes in thriving growth.
In the process of learning I understand that I am lacking in many aspects in
dealing with the things as I get stressed out when I missed any deadlines
with that sometimes while performing tasks I became more impatient.
Theses two aspects are my weaknesses and I need to make improvement
in this.
Opportunity Threats
There is bundle of opportunities with the development in the academic and
professional development and the most important opportunity is that it
generates the leadership skill that provides chances to an employee to
show their skills and manages the teams more effectively.
The constant academic and professional development demands continuous
change in the learning as well as development process. And dealing with
change generates various threats such as it requires time away from the
work, appropriate decision making and it can be expensive as well.
There is one important aspect of business which is dealing with things patiently but I am lacking in this skills. In order to make improvement in this skill
in need to manage things effectively in tasks and through the constant performance I became more use to handle stress and dealing with problems.

Detailed example of the actions that would be taken to develop
skills identified as weakness in SWOT analysis
There are multiple actions that can be achieved in order to
enhance my patience skills, patience requires management
of the situations with confidence and in effective manner
(Muhammadiyeva and Ibrohimova, 2020). Some of the
important actions to improve and develop skills are
discussed below:
 Listen and questions with positive approach- In order to
enhance the patience an employees need to active and
attentive listening and putting frustration aside. Showing
someone that you are listening actively and don't be in
hurry makes a person more productive and responsive.

Conclusion
 From the above report it is concluded that
academic and professional development plays
a very important role in enhancing multiple
aspects in an individual in terms of building
career and in performing tasks and
responsibilities.
