INTRODUCTION
Portfolio development is a major approach which is collection of different skills and
abilities of a person in order to gain competency edge. The application of portfolio helps a
student to develop effective edge over competitor students (Alzouebi, 2020). This project
includes the research on various skills and their development to proceed at the marketplace. Also
the portfolio development gives rise to professionalism in a student for long term growth. It is
also a key responsibility of a person to take assistance of portfolio development for long term
growth of business. This project covers various skills and their development which was learned
by myself to lead others. In this report main focus is on academic and professional skills in order
to develop a dynamic personality.

MAIN BODY
Self analysis which is important for development
It is important for a student to perform self analysis for individual growth in a set period of
time in academic life. The most beneficial approach for an individual in his life is SWOT
analysis to identify different strengths and weaknesses. In the life of an individual SWOT
analysis play an important with also facilitating career development. The SWOT analysis is a
major approach which helps an individual to focus on developing group goals. Also SWOT
analysis helps a person to develop competitive advantage in career related life. My SWOT
analysis has helped me in gaining the knowledge about my weaknesses in order to develop and
determine strategies (Asamoah, Alagidede, and Adu, 2021). I have formulated beneficial
approaches which are suitable for career growth in a set period of time. This is major role of a
person to focus on SWOT analysis in order to understand major academic factors which are good
for all round development of a person. In depth SWOT analysis and its application is suitable for
achievement of various goals and objectives. In competitive marketplace, when a candidate
enters professional life it is majorly important for him to develop SWOT analysis. The skills
develop a major approach for a person to develop all operations and functions in a precise
manner. The self analysis also impacts on a student by developing major parameters of learning.
Focus on various elements related to professional life should be on overall growth of a person by
developing major effective goals.
ACADEMIC SKILLS
Academic skills is known as the study strategies, study skills and academic skills. Study
skills is the ability of taking new information and retaining information in an organized form. It
also benefits academic pursuits such as presentations, report writing, learning and research. This
includes test taking, planning, analysis, social, planning, communication, studying and technical
skills, but the core of academic skills are writing, mathematics and reading.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT GAINED THROUGH ACADEMIC LIFE:
REFERENCES LEARNING AND APPLICATION OF ITS STYLE
The references are good sources which are used by a person to learn and develop knowledge
about a subject matter. I learned all types of referencing styles in my academic life which helped
me understanding different dimensions of source learning. The guidance by my professors was
crucial for me as it helped me in learning Harvard referencing style. This is major responsibility
of a person to learn Harvard style of references in order to develop and gain systematic
knowledge related to a subject matter. In the recent times, major institutions organise a separate
space for references learning which is helpful in delivering a good knowledge. In the
professional life a person can also develop competitive advantage by learning major styles of
references (Cooper, and Sommer, 2020). Application of referencing styles is helpful in
developing relevant academic sources to support information. Research related to a subject
matter is also facilitated by references by providing a crucial piece of information. The
information and knowledge gathering was develop by me using appropriate resources. It is
recommended for students in their academic life to learn application of marking references for a
particular topic. This is the ethical duty of a student to focus on learning academic skills in a
precise manner for self improvement. I learned all major types of referencing styles like Harvard
and APA to develop and focus on major activities of learning.
LEARNING RELATED TO KNOWLEDGE FOR DEVELOPMENT
The learning is a major approach which should be developed in academic life for overall
growth of the individual. Knowledge is an important aspect which should be considered by a
student to develop familiar understanding related to a subject. This is the major role of a student
to focus on knowledge increasing in order to lead others. I have developed knowledge in my
academic life related to ethics. In the professional career related life, this approach can be usual
for a student in order to gain desired development at the marketplace (Davis, and Southward,
2021). Also major focus of a student should be on professional and personal growth with using
different strategies. Mental development of a student is dependent upon knowledge development.
Ethical knowledge and its understanding also helped me to focus on various social aspects of the
society. I have learned that being ethical is also good to lead others with major focus on self
growth. Knowledge is now an important consideration for me in order to develop various
effective approaches for leading others in social life.

TIME MANAGEMENT FOR LONG TERM GROWTH AND ROUTINE MANAGEMENT
Time management is the main aspect in academics as it is useful for student's agitated
schedule. It guarantees that students are balancing there daily life activities and completing their
daily academic assignments on time. It not only improves the performance but also lower the
anxiety to manage everything on time. Time management builds confidence and allows you to
work smarter not harder (Fitz-Koch, Cooper, and Cruz, 2019). It increases the level of
productivity and make things easier. Time management skills can be created by making time
tables, agendas, project plans, by setting goals for every study session and by eliminating
distraction.
RESEARCH SKILLS
Research skills is the ability to find or evaluate the relevant information in a précised
form related to a specific topic. These skills are gained by staying up to date with the latest
trends of industry and market condition. Identifying the problems that are impeding the
performance and then working accordingly. By learning new ways of doing things which can
help to stay creative and build thinking power. If the researched information is not précised
student can also face grade loss, research skills can demonstrate by collecting, recording and
verifying data.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR OVERALL GROWTH OF A CANDIDATE
Communication is known as the interaction between two or more person, every one knows
existing without communication is impossible but effective communication makes a vital change
in academics (Lam, 2018). Communication skills include correct body language which include
gestures, being confident is one of the skill which does not mean to cut anyone's view it means
maintaining eye contact and speak your view with confidence, respect everyone's point of view ,
respect the speaker staying with presence of mind.
NOTE TAKING FOR THEORITICAL DEVELOPMENT
Note making includes in academic skills as which means learning new things by practising
and noting it down. There are mainly three note taking skills to outline the important matter,
Cornell and visualising. The main academic purpose is for active learning and preparing study
material for exam time. Developing notes systematise the matter into a understandable form, it
can be done by attentive listening and being creative to put it into summraised form by including

important key words, thinking before writing is also important so that the material will be
relevant and concept can be reminded by the note.
ONLINE LEARNING IN ORDER TO GAIN FOCUS ON KNOWLEDGE GAIN
The online learning is also beneficial for developing a precise knowledge by using advanced
computer systems and internet. In the recent times during my academic time, it is crucial for a
person to learn various things on online platform. I have gained knowledge related to a subject
matter for focused knowledge on a deep subject in a set period of time. Online learning is a
major platform which provides direct learning using internet (Mylnikov, 2021). The online
videos are important source of getting knowledge in a practical manner by the student. In order
to facilitate online learning it is crucial for a person to focus on direct learning using online
platforms. I personally learned knowledge about different subjects like management and human
resource in some extra online courses. Human development in an ethical manner contributes to
success of a candidate in both personal and professional life. It is major responsibility of a
candidate to develop online learning using set of software in order to develop systematic
approach. In the era of stiff competition between different institutions, majority of them focus on
online learning for saving the time. I gained knowledge related to virtual teams and their
formation in my online learning experience. I also developed knowledge related to online
learning by focusing on instructions which were clearly given by my seniors. I will also actively
participate in upcoming online sessions and seminars of our institutions.
ESSAY WRITING IN ORDER TO IMPROVE MY WRITING SKILLS
In my academic life, I also gained knowledge for improvement of my writing skills in a set
period of time. Essay writing is a beneficial approach which is helpful and supportive in
developing crucial knowledge about a subject matter. The writing skills are very much important
for a person to focus on major writing practices (Xu, and Cavusgil, 2019). This is the major role
and responsibility of a person to write detailed essay on a given topic with effective knowledge.
In my academic course I have learned about writing detailed essay on any topic that is beneficial
in academic life. I majorly wrote about team management in the organisation for focused
approach. This is major responsibility of a candidate in academic life to develop precise focus on
major objectives of individual. Essay writing is a very interesting topic that developed my

interest towards the studies. I am now competent enough to write fair essays on major topics
which are given by my lecturers and professors.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO GAIN GROWTH IN CAREER PATH
During my academic tenure, I have also developed professional development related skills in
order to gain competency edge. The professional development is a major type of development
which includes developing certain high skills and values in a person. Professional development is
also related to focus on self development in order to grow in professional life. I expect a good
and fair experience in my career life after learning different skills as a part of professional
development (Ziakas, and Getz, 2020). Major institutions in the academic field are now hiring
highly skilled and trained workers for overall professional development of the company. In the
recent times, the importance of personal development is increasing day by day with the the
application of skills. I have learned professional skills like business development, employee
management and workplace management in my academic life. I will now have the ability to
work in a good working environment for development of professional skills. In order to develop
a good approach in selecting appropriate essay writing it is important to learn about referencing.
The professional development also includes application of systematic and precise approach for
self career development.

CONCLUSION
From the above stated report it can be concluded that skills play a vital role in
development of an individual which helps a person to focus on career development. It is
