1ACADEMIC WRITING - A REFLECTION
The communication process within a business organization is one of the most important
factors that help in the proper overall functioning of the organization as a whole. The multitudes
of the business organizations that are active in the global markets all over the world should be
advised to maintain the proper communication among the internal as well as the external
communications of the organization (Pearson 2017). This would help in the development as well
as the maintenance of the transparency among the various stakeholders of the organization. The
following paper attempts a reflection on the factors that were discussed during the entire
semester.
The first week has helped me to learn more about the various models that are followed
for the maintenance of the business communication within any given business organization. This
week has also helped me learn about the value and the importance of the ethics within the
communication process that is followed by the concerned organization (Martin and Nakayama
2015). The lecture of the week further helped me in gaining knowledge on the most common
areas of using the unethical means within the operations of the organization. This week further
helped me learn about the integrity that should be maintained within the professional as well as
the academic fields.
The second week has helped me know more about the interpersonal as well as the
intercultural communication that should be maintained within the organization. This week has
helped me to learn about the various areas of nonverbal communication that majorly includes
gestures, body language and expressions. This week lecture has enlightened men on the various
barriers that might be present in case of communication through listening. Listening is one of the
major factors that are necessary to maintain a proper communication among the employees as
well as the external stakeholders of the organization (Ha and Riffe 2015). The intercultural

communication as discussed in this week has helped me learn the ways in which a proper
communication can be conducted with people from different cultural backgrounds.
The third week has helped me in discussing the factors that are helpful for the proper
research in the given organization. This week has enlightened me on the issues that might be
encountered while undertaking research on a certain subject. The researches on the given
organization has further helped me in learning the various types of researches and their
importance within the business operations (Coffelt, Baker and Corey 2016). I have also learned a
lot about the various tools that are used to conduct researches among the internal as well as the
external stakeholders of the organization. I have also been educated on the ways to evaluate the
web-based sources that provide information on a given topic. This week has helped me to gain
knowledge on the ways in which an authentic source might be detected among the multitude of
information sources that are available over the internet.
The fifth week of the lecture has helped me to gain better knowledge on the critical
thinking that needs to be implemented within the organization. The lecture has helped me learn
about the importance of the critical thinking capabilities in the proper completion of the
operations within the given organization. This week has also enlightened me on the necessity and
the different types of the argument that might help in the decision-making activities that are
performed as a part of the management of the internal operations of the company. Cardon and
Marshall (2015) state that this in turn helps in the development of the organizational
performance.
The sixth week has helped me learn more on the analysis of the issues that are presented
within the organization. This week had helped me by providing me the exposure of the case
studies which demonstrate the issues that are generally faced by the organization at any given

point of time during their operations within the given market. This week has helped me gain the
knowledge on the use of the mind-maps in order to derive solutions for the situations that are
faced by the company.
The seventh week has helped me to learn majorly on the ways to prepare business
reports. This week lecture has helped me in learning the factors that are important and need to be
included within the report. The lecture has further helped me learn more on the issues that are
presented due to the inclusion of the redundant information within the report thereby making it
cumbersome for the reader to analyze and understand the issues that are addressed by the report
(Brink and Costigan 2015).
The eighth week has helped me in understanding the importance of the teamwork and the
proper conduction of the effectivity of the meetings within the organization. The lecture has
helped me understand the importance of the proper teamwork within the organization (Bao
2017). This would further help me in my future endeavors in my life as a business professional.
The ninth week has helped me to develop my skills as in oratory. The lecture of the ninth
week has helped me learn more about the importance of oral communications and the activity of
public speaking. The lecture of the ninth week has enlightened me on the importance of the
public speeches that might help in motivating the workforce as well as deal with the external
stakeholders of the organization.

presented in the business correspondence. The lecture has helped me learn more about the use of
the internet-based technologies that help in the enhancement of the proper communication within

organization. This course has been useful in learning about the value and the importance of the
ethics within the organizational communication process.
