INTRODUCTION
Health and Social care is the very interesting area for job, learning and any other field.
Health and Social care is the most important concern of every country in the world (Dickinson,
and O'Flynn, 2016). This present report is based on the reflection of strength and weaknesses of
an individual which he/she learns in the academic preparation. Gibbs's reflecting cycles will be
used to write the reflection report.
MAIN BODY
Gibb's Reflective Cycle
This is the popular model for reflection which was developed by Graham Gibbs in 1988
(Redmond, 2017). With the help of this model it becomes easy for anyone to share the
experience and knowledge. There are five stages included in this model which are Description,
Feelings, Evaluation, Conclusion and Action plan (Gibb's Reflective Cycle, 2018). I am using
this model in order to share my experience in my academic preparation of health and social care.
Description- I am a student and continuing my education in health and social care. I want
to share my experience of learning where I identified my various strength and weakness. I have
learned so many things which is very effective and helpful for me to grow and develop more in
the filed of health and social care. I am very happy that I am taking education or learning in a
very critical filed which is health and social care.
Feeling- I am felling very happy that what I have learned and experienced is very
effective as well as helpful for me to develop and grow more in my carrier. During the study, I
have experience many things which earlier I don't know actually. I am feeling pleasure in
helping other and contributing for the betterment and welfare for the society. My teacher also
admire me that I have qualities to be health and social care specialist or practitioner. During my
academic preparation I have found that I am very good at some areas like I have very empathy
on those patients in my practical work when we are allowed to diagnosed the patients in hospital
and clinics. I am also very proactive person in my academic course as I being always in control
of the situations and it my biggest skill (Dickinson and O'Flynn, 2016). I am always ready to take
step ahead whenever the situation of emergency arrived. In addition to this, I have good skill of
managing time in very effective way, I never waste my time in any useless activities. On the
other hand, I also experienced some of my weaknesses in my academic course of health and
social care. I identified that I am lacking behind in communication skills as sometimes I commit

mistakes in treating patients in my practical work and in theoretical test too, and it was only
because I don't listen carefully.
Evaluation- The entire experience was went well as I am very happy that I have gain and
learn many qualities which are very essential for my future when I become a health and social
care professional. Everything that I have learned will definitely work well in my future course.
With my strength of time management, empathetical person, proactive person, confidentiality
and many others makes me very confidence that I can achieve good marks and I will become the
best healthcare professionals (Wahlbeck, 2015). Beside this, the things which are not went good
is that in health and social care, it is very challenging for me to work in a group as I never ever
done before. In health and social care, team working is vital part as in my academic sessions we
are assigned many projects in groups where we have to collect data and informations in areas for
how many infected persons, number of diseases etc. Moreover, I am also lacking in Critical
thinking which is also my weaknesses as I unable to use logical thinking when I have to
alternative solution of the problems as it sometimes happens in my practical work where
emergency cases are to be handle at that time I was not able to give alternative suitable treatment
to patients. I have evaluated all my strength and weaknesses in learning of health and social care.
Conclusions- The entire experience of my academic course of health and social care was
incredible. I have learned so many things like team-working, time management, patience,
confidentiality, critical thinking and many others (Redmond, 2017). In this, some of them I have
already developed and some I was lacking behind. The skills which I have cope up with me in
many situations as well as in my entire course work. These all my weaknesses will be improved
by my efforts as Dickinson, H. and O'Flynn, J., 2016Redmond, B., 2017well as efforts of my
teacher too. I am very confident that I will become the best health and social care professional.
Action Plan- I am very concern and serious about my weaknesses, thus for that I had
make a action plan top develop my skill.
