Introduction
Academic skills are the collection of habits, different strategies and management of time
tools which helps the students to enhance their skills and knowledge. It is important because it
gives and confidence to the students and helps them in filling their expectations with respect to
their career goals. The students can develop their academic skills in the classroom by responding
to and asking questions by their teachers and follow up with them (Abenavoli, 2019). The report
is being discussed about and reflective summary on the development of the academic skills and
how those skills can be developed in form of SMART goals model.
Main body
Skills required to develop
Every student has a dream to become successful in their life. For this they have to
develop their skills and knowledge in order to attain the goals of life. There are some skills
which I have to develop follows:
Critical thinking: education is not depends upon learning the facts but it also requires the
proper training to the mind to think about it (Anderson and Valero, 2020). I have to develop my
thinking skills which will be used to understand the concept of career and the work please in the
changing environment. It helps me in clearing myself directed and self discipline skills which
help me in making my thinking the realistic and meaningful way.
Communication skills a good communication skill plays in significant role in order to
obtain the main objective life. I possess average communication skills which resulted in low
confidence. For this I have to develop multiple modes of communication which will be used as a
tool in order to communicate within the team at workplace. I also have to develop my written
communication skills for the modern students and employees.
Smart goal model
It is the model which is clearly plant and trackable objectives. It is useful in building the
career I want by setting in objective and creating a clear roadmap so that I can reach to my
intended target (Kikas Soodla and Mägi, 2018). The model is given below:
