INTRODUCTION
Academic research is defined as important aspects for individual as it develops the
understanding about particular task and topic. If a person is having good knowledge and skills,
then it will be use to bring changes in existing performance and maintain higher productivity.
The chosen topic for report is environment and suitability. It has seen that business environment
is changing day by day where it became important for business concern to analysis the
environment and make right decisions (Beagon, 2018). If an individual is able to understand all
task, then it will be opportunity to grow business and attain productivity. The present report is
classified in two three sections such as report, reflective writing, and personal development plan.
PART 1 REPORT
To operate a business successfully it is important to conduct analysis of environment that
can help to know which factor could influence the business and how it could be overcome. For
each business organization it is needed to adopt changes and technology that can help to
introduce new products and services. To start any business should be analysis the environment
that can help to make right business decisions. Environment sustainability is the major business
issues which is running rapidly because companies are not following the regulations, formulated
by government and affected businesses. Environment sustainability involves making decisions,
and taking actions that are in the interests of protecting the natural world. This can help to
provide competitive advantages in changing environment. There are different environment
sustainability issues faced by companies such as:
Changing in climate – It has seen that environment is changing day by day where it
creating pain for businesses as it cannot operate its business smoothly. A warming planet creates
a range of risks for businesses and in supply chain that direct affect business negatively. The
extreme weather event such as hurricanes, floods, fire, and others impacts over businesses and
economic sector worldwide (Donelan, 2016).
Changes in government policy and regulations – Whenever a business is running in
specific country then it became challenging to follow the rules and regulations formulated by
government. As pandemic arise in whole world that affected businesses as well as environment.
In this situation government has changes the regulation and declared lockdown that has been
affected organizational productivity.

Increasing pollution – The number of people shifting their homes from village to city
and also establish their businesses that directly affected the environment. In case environment is
not suitable and spreading pollution then it will be difficult for business concern to operate their
business.
Technological issue – In changing environment it became important for organization to
introduce the changes and new products by using new technology that can help to grow business.
The business could be affect negatively in case technology get fail and not working properly that
creates cost and debts for business industry.
How companies are reacting toward environment sustainability
The goal of organization is to operate business by maintaining sustainability and
following the regulations. In above section different issues in relation to environment
sustainability has been explained where company reacting negatively. As sales and production
activity of organization reducing where companies also reduced their contribution share in
environment. For example, due to changing regulation Tesco feels challenge to sale its product in
other area that directly affected the organizational performance. In case environment is not
suitable for companies then there is chances of increasing wastages, not focuses on renewable
energy and others that directly affects business as lower production and profitability. It also
creates difficulties for companies to follow changing regulation that impacts negatively on
business industries. Currently, environmental sustainability is a typical issue, receives plenty of
attention from media and from governmental departments. This is a result of the amount of
research going into assessing the impact that human activity can have on the environment (Early
and et.al., 2017).
Recommendation to solve environment sustainability issue
To improve the environment sustainability in changing environment there are different
ways which can be used by companies such as:
Replace disposable items with reusable – To improve the environment sustainability
there is need to use reusable water bottle, food containers instead of plastic wrap, waste free
lunch, bring their bag to grocery store and rechargeable batteries that can help to improve the
organizational productivity and extra cost (Légaré and et.al., 2015).
Conserve water & electricity – The people can contribute in making the environment
sustainable such as sink water off while brushing teeth, switch off any electricity board when no

one is using, and signing up for renewable energy products that could help to improve the
environment sustainability (Khanna, 2015).
Contribution in CSR activities – A business is running with the help of public who
identify their needs and conduct analysis to get best products. In case organization is behaviour
positively with society and participating in CSR activities then sustainability definitely improves.
This could be opportunity for Tesco and other companies to influence number of customers and
develop organizational productivity.
PART 2 REFLECTIVE WRITING
In my college days I have read the module that name was Academic skills, involves
different chapter and ethics to understand specific topic and respond properly. From this module
I learnt that to gaining knowledge and managing multiple task there is needs to have academic
skills and experience. By using Gibbs model of reflection I am sharing my experience and
learning which I got during that days. Firstly, I was confused regarding to enter in course or
module as there were many courses available. Then I decided to learn academic skills where I
have learnt about environmental sustainability which was the topic. In second stage, I analysed
that environment sustainability is major issue for all businesses where they are not operating
their business due to increasing wastages, changing climate, increasing pollution and not
following government regulations. When I was working with Morrison my senior has assigned
me a work to develop organizational sales by influencing customers that became difficult task for
me because of occurred pandemic and low contribution in CSR activities. After this, I evaluated
that my experience of working in this situation was good because I built an effectively team to
work collectively and reducing the negative impacts of environment sustainability issue from the
business. In stage of analysis, I came to know my skills and abilities which I had to handle the
situation and business issue that have been risen while working.
The module was very supportive for me where I have developed my knowledge and skills
about environment sustainability, such as it is important to make decision and increase
organizational productivity by influencing customers and reducing wastes. I understood that
without environment sustainability it will be difficult for companies to increase customer base
and develop productivity in changing environment. I was much good in communication, problem
solving, motivating and leading the people which I used to understand environmental issues and
solve it properly. This was good experience for me where I learnt how to manage work and

handle each problem in case rise suddenly. From the module it has concluded that I have
developed my skills in which I was weak such as team work, contacting with society, accepting
change and others that supported me to complete the project in given period of time. This has
created a good opportunity for me to identify the weakness and bring improvements by
managing all work and task effectively. I used my skills and abilities to solve environmental
issue while working in organization by reducing wastages, providing better quality of products as
per customer demand that supported to improve environment sustainability. This learning has
created many future opportunities for me to get challenges and complete it effectively. This
module has increased my knowledge and skills in particular area and supports to manage each
task.
PART 3 PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
A personal development plan is the continuous process of creating action plan based on
awareness, reflection, values, goal setting, and planning for personal. This is used by individual
to identify weakness in skills and bring improvement accordingly. A PDP is prepared by me,
focuses over academic skills such as:
