This academic report is divided into two main parts: a research report and a reflective outline. The research report section includes an introduction, followed by three research items: "The Craft of Research," a journal article on "Transformational sustainability research methodology," and a business case study titled "Tradition and innovation in Italian wine family businesses." Each research item is analyzed for its key concepts and relevance to the student's learning. The second part of the report provides a reflective outline, including an introduction, personal reflections on the module's learning outcomes, and a conclusion. The student reflects on their learning experience, highlighting the methods and techniques used in academic research, and how these insights can be applied to future projects. Reflection 4:
I am very happy that I got this opportuinity for being a part of this project which not only
help in getting me aware about the several kind of bio tecghnology that are used within
agricultural industry for imrproving iots practices but also support me in getting my personal
development doen throughout this project. The experience throughopit this project was great and
I presented my learning and experience with the help of self reflection which is presented below:
Personal reflection
In order to execute this project a team was formnulated which work toward gathering the
infomrtaion and try to provide action that can be takern to overcome the challenges or ixssues
that agricyultural industry is already facing wit
So, to continue with this in future I made certain views abouit the things that I will perform in
ordre to approach a team work.
. Other than this I decide to give equal chance to each individual in team for keeping their view
point nad suggestions toward a particulat and I will value them so that more coordination in team
can be established whichj not only help in reducing the burden of worek but also allow in
perfoming it well.
INTRODUCTION
Research is defined as the systematic investigation or study of a material and available
information with an aim to establish facts and understanding regarding a particular phenomenon
in order to reach out a final conclusion (Best and Kahn, 2016). A research is considered to be
most significant as it helps in extracting out a solution to the problem by perform a detailed study
and gathering information about it. The current project is a reflective report which is divided into
two parts where first section talks about the research report that consist of three research items
and reflection on learning that get from those items. The second part consist of individual
reflection which represent the basic understanding and learning that student get throughout the
module.

PART 1 – Research Report
Research item 1
The first research item consider is a book named as “The Craft of Research” which is a
guide for researching, structuring, writing, organising and documenting an investigation
effectively. It also provides a guide to the process to be used for performing an investigation
effectively and things that must be consider while performing an investigation (The craft of
research, 2003). The main thing which interest me the most about this book is that it guides
throughout the complexity of drafting a research report, the structure to be followed for a
problem, effective ways of gathering data etc. That is it provide a whole guide to perform an
investigation effectively, which support me in gaining understanding about several tactics to be
consider while performing an investigation that further help me in enhancing my researcher
skills and allow me to perform my future project much effectively.
There are several things that are being presented within this book that help an investigator
to improve their skills and knowledge regarding the way of conducting an investigation. But the
three key points that are consider to be more important are, pattern of performing the formal
report. This is crucial information as it helps in learning about the formal structure of report that
support in conducting business research effectively. Another important information is that it talks
about complexity of task that are mainly found within a report which help in performing an
investigation without nay difficulties. The third important thing that is presented within the
report is it talk about the method to be adopted for presenting the problem and ways to adopt for
resolving it with proper presentation of information. These three are the main important things
that are explained within the “the Craft of research” which holds huge importance within this
research item.
Research item 2
The research item selected is a Journal article named as “Transformational sustainability
research methodology” which focuses toward presenting and differentiating between the two
distinct research streams. The main area of my interest is methodological guidelines as it
supports in performing an investigation effectively by directing the actions in more systematic
manner which ensure effective execution of each activity which move toward accomplishing
research aim. Along with this it also explains about five exemplary research framework that are
related with the transformational sustainability research which is more interesting and also good

for my future learning journey (Wiek, and Lang, 2016). This is so because these research
frameworks support me in developing better understanding about the methods or approaches that
are used in performing a transformational sustainability research successfully. Additionally, also
contribute in developing my understanding about making right choice of research methods. This
will support me in my future learning journey as by performing investigation by using these
frameworks I will learnt to perform the evidence-based solution for research problem which
remain valuable to the real-world practice.
The article is very much informative and helpful as it provides guidance toward the
transformational sustainability investigation. The first important thing found in this article is the
presentation of differentiation between the descriptive-analytical and transformation
investigation which help me in finding out the distinct point between two so that them doesn’t
remain any confusion. Second important thing it discuss is it present the importance of evidence-
based solution to issues so that the investigation findings can be practice in real world to solve
the issues. The third important fact about this article is that it provides guidance to
transformational sustainability research and provide awareness about different areas to which it
is applicable. These are the areas which make this more interesting for me as this help in
broadening my knowledge about the research methods to be adopted for performing
investigation effectively and be able to perform investigation in systematic manner. This is
important to me as with the help of this I can apply this understanding to several areas such as
academic, governmental, private, and non-profit organizations to use them.
Research item 3
The third research item conside4red for this report is a business case study i.e. “Tradition
and innovation in Italian wine family businesses” which is performed in order to determine the
manner in which this strategy help a medium size business to achieve competitive advantage
(Vrontis, Bresciani and Giacosa, 2016). The things which I found to be most interesting in this
case study is that it perform whole investigation over two main aspect of a business that is
tradition as well as innovation by adopting interview technique as a main tool for gathering
information which bring up such findings that can be practically implemented for adopting
competitive edge. This investigation will support me in developing my understanding regarding
the manner in which research tool like interview is performed in order to get in-depth

information about an area of study and manner in which this data is evaluated that support in
conducting my future projects much effectively.
The important thing that I found in this study is that the research focuses on case study
and to present in depth information it conducted interview which support in presenting an
effective business model for family wine business. This support me in determining how the gap
identified in literature review consider as a base to perform new investigation. Another important
factor in this study is that it is conducted in structured format where it begins with the analysis of
theoretical background, gap and continue from research methods, findings to conclusion. This
provide a proper guidance to manner in which a formal business research is conducted. At last,
the third importance in this study is that it represents implication for all the stakeholder after
conducting study which support me in getting an idea regarding ways in which the study can be
form up more important for practical life too and not just remain to findings.
PART 2: Reflective outline
Introduction
Reflection on learning plays a significant role for an individual as it helps them in
determining the things that they grab from something and how it can be useful for future course
of action (Johnston, 2017). This section is a personal reflection regarding the overall learning
from the module which cover things learnt from the module, the importance that these learning
holds and how these are useful in term of area of interest.
Reflection
The experience throughout this module was great as I become able to develop my
understanding and learning in term of conduction and drafting an investigation. Throughout this
module I came to know about several different methods used for performing an investigation,
issues that are mainly found while performing this work, format of performing an investigation
and things to consider while executing a report. Such as with this module I become able to
develop my understanding about the role of adopting right investigation method such as
qualitative or quantitative that have their own property and support in accomplishing study
effectively. The qualitative study helps in performing in depth study by exploring more and more
theoretical framework to develop conceptualise understanding. While on other side quantitative
method allows the investigator to represent numerical facts and figure about a phenomenon and
prove hypothesis by applying several statistical techniques. Other than this I also found why the

evidence-based solution are important and areas in which such kind of investigations are
preferable that are governmental, private, and non-profit organizations. This is so because in
these areas the investigation is mainly performed to determine the cause of a problem which an
organisation is mainly facing so that solutions are being identified to work over these issues
(Bryman, 2016).
The learning which I gain throughout this model holds up greater significance for me as
this help me in getting a basic understanding about the ways through which investigation is
mainly performed. Additionally, this understanding will support me in making right choice of
methods for performing investigation which ensure accomplishment of research objective with
proper findings. This further support in providing right direction to research activities that help in
detraining the solution to issue over which investigation is based. Hence support me in my future
learning goals. Additionally, it help me in avoiding the mistakes that are mainly performed
while choosing up a method for performing investigation or while structuring the report or
presenting the findings (Bell, Bryman and Harley, 2018). Hence, it can be said that it is very
helpful to me as I become able to learn about the formal structuring and conduction of report
with the help of which I would be able to perform business research much effectively and be able
to provide valid solutions.
Conclusion
From the above performed reflection it can be summarised that this module is very much
helpful in developing an understanding regarding the execution of an investigation and providing
an idea regarding the several methods that are being adopted for performing an investigation
effectively. Additionally, it also provides an understanding regarding the basic as well as formal
structuring of a report which is to be consider by an investigator
CONCLUSION
From the above presented report it can be summarised that module consist of several
research items that holds their own importance in providing guidance and basic learning about
the execution of an investigation. It put emphasis over three kind of research item such as book,
journal and a business case study that are consider to be a basic source for performing an
investigation effectively. Each one of them are different in term of representing information and
with the help of this provide a better understanding to the several structure of performing
investigation in different areas.
