INTRODUCTION
For writing any research report it is very important to have a good command on the skills
which can help to increase the confidence to achieve target objective or goals in life. It also
ensures the improvement in the overall personality. It helps to build confidence which helps to
keep us positive towards our work. These skills will help in writing an effective research project.
This report will explain how to write a research report in proper manner and the different factors
which is required to achieve this. It will also discuss about the personal development plan and
ways to prepare it. For a good HR manger, how these skills play an important role is also
discussed in this report.
TASK 1
a) Assessment note on strengths and weaknesses
It is very important to have a good personal skills to write an effective research report.
For this it is very crucial to have a good command on the personal development. There are
various skills which has to be improved for writing a good project report, for example, personal
skills, like, critical thinking, creativity, problem solving capability, decision-making, skill,
interpersonal skills, etc. All these elements are mandatory for writing any research report. Apart
from this there are various other factors also which is required to complete this task, for example,
academic skills which includes, conducting research related to the topic of the research work,
note taking capability, summarizing and paraphrasing (Allison and et.al., 20160. All these factors
has to be managed properly to complete the report on time. To perform this task I have improved
my research skills as well as it very important to complete mt report work. It helps to collect data
from different sources which can make my report more effective and attractive. It helps to
provide access to learn about opportunities available in the industry.
My research work is based on my aim which is to be a good and effective HR manager in
a company by the end of year 2018. To achieve this target I am working on my analytical skills
which can help me to become a good manager. It is very important to have an effective
communication skill as it is highly required to become a HR manger to communicate with the
employees who are working in the company. I am also taking care of my interpersonal skills as
well to improve my ability of creating innovating ideas which can be beneficial for the
organization to increase their sales and productions in the target market. According to the roles
and responsibility of HR manager in a company, it is very crucial to work on my language skills

for establishing a good relationship with other workers in the company. It will help me to
improve my overall personality (Cottrell, 2015). Having a good personal skill helps to build
confidence and encourages working more effectively for the organization and I can achieve my
objectives and goals easily.
b) Setting of self target for self improvisation and checking them
For becoming an efficient HR manger self improvisation target to be achieved are:
To effectively delegate responsibility and give required authority to perform such work.
Set specific for employees for achieving organisational goals.
To have a good communication base with employees.
To recognise employee as well organisational achievements.
Make workplace more of a fun and relax.

Capability of Writing Note
It is very important to gather information regarding the research topic which can be done
by taking notes from different sources available. For an effective research writing, it is very
important to take notes as it will help in making a good report. Taking notes helps to organize the
whole work and keeps them systematic and managed. Writing notes has helped me improve my
writing as well as analytical skills. It also helps in concentrating in the work. There are various
benefits of taking notes while conducting the research report as it helps us to emphasize and
organize information related to the project (Walliman, 2017). The main reason why I have
started to take notes is that it maintains complete information regarding my work which I can use

in the future as well. It helps to understand the topic more accurately so that the end result can be
effective and of food quality.
For becoming a good HR manger, I researched about an article named “HRM and its
effect on employee, organizational
and financial outcomes” which was written by Brenda Vermeeren and et.al in 2014. From this
article I understood that there are majorly two important tasks of HR in an organization, one is to
increase the performance of the company and other is to emphasize on the importance of gaining
competitive advantage through their employees who works there. The main objective or aim of
HR manager is to give proper training and development programs to the newly appointed
recruitment, analyse their performance related to their team work, job design, etc. which can be
helpful for them to achieve their target in time (HRM and its effect on employee, organizational
and financial outcome, 2014).
According to this article, I understood that HR management plays an important role in the
organization as it helps them to manage their work effectively and to recruit the most eligible
candidates which can serve the company their best services. It was found from this article, that
HR practices are linked directly or indirectly to different outcomes of the organization, for
example, in their improved financial outcomes which helps measure the net margin of the
company, in organizational outcomes which measure their client satisfaction rate and in HR
outcomes which measures their employees satisfaction rate in the company. Another factor
which is also important for an HR manger is to maintain the company's reputation in the market
which can help them to gain popularity among their customers.
I have learned so many things from this article which can help me in achieving my target
of becoming an effective and good HR manager at the end of 2018. Taking notes has ensured
that I have gathered all the information related to my project report work. So according to this
article, it is very important to have a skilled knowledge of all the skills which will be required to
become an HR manager, for example, analytical skills which helps to collect and analyze
information, problem-solving ability, and making decisions according to that (O'Leary, 2017).
These strengths of HR can help solve a company's problems and improve their overall
productivity and success in the target industry.

Research is conducted for food and beverages sold at retail stores and supermarket. The
research mainly focuses on foods and beverages items which are in a regular demand and have a
high consumption base (Smart, and et.al., 2017). These food items are purchased by different
types of consumers and all have a different level of consumption. The consumption level differs
during holidays. This research is carried out to find out which group is consumes these food
items and beverages in the highest quantities mad the reason behind then so a particular
consumer group can be targeted for increasing palea mad revenues.

to fine out the highest consuming group of customers.
To fine out their purchasing habits and spending power.
To find out the changes in purchasing habits during holidays.
To suggest techniques to carry out the research.
Process of carrying out research plan:
the data and information for carrying out the research work was collected from primary
and secondary sources.
Primary sources: this sources includes preparation and presentation of two type of
questionnaire. The one for the consumers in the local market in which there are 10 retail store
and 3 supermarkets. Another was for the owners and employees for such retails stores and
supermarkets. This was done so that the psychological habits of consumers can be studied and
understood.
Personal interviews of people purchasing food and beverages from such retail stores and
supermarkets were taken. Interview of employees of d those stores were also taken. This data
was recoded ithrough a video camera and for those who were not comfortable to face camera the
interview was recoded in audio form only.
Secondary Sources: this sources included the previous data from sites of supermarkets.
The books from city library were also referred for anticipating the right methods for collection
and interpretation of data (Smart and Vercauteren, 2014). The online sites were also referred for
understanding the psychological ha bots of consumers which effects their purchasing habits.

Findings: from the data and information controlled from primary and secondary sources
it was found that main groups for purchase such food and beverages in day to day basis were the
household owners and the groups of students who leave in the city for their studies.
These groups hold total of 77% of all consumers in this category.
The people from household group have a purchase their items on a weekly or a fortnight
basis rather than the student group who purchase these items on a irregular basis which varied
from a week to an interval of 2-3 days. Sometimes this range change to 15 -20 days during the
times of their exams.
These purchasing habits have a drastic change during holiday times. The family person
sometime\mes purchase more for celebrating at home and sometimes go on holiday, so these
group did not affect the market much. The students at the times of holiday either go for holidays
or for vationning. Both these results in no purchasing of food items for the period they are not in
the city.
TASK 4
Analysis of targets set and progress made
The target set for development of personnel skills were attained by me. I took personal
grooming and development classes for this purpose, which made me a better and improvised
person. I read newspaper ion a regular basis to improvise my general and academic knowledge.
The research and note written by me helped me in understanding the market and scenario
in the market place. I set a personal action plan for becoming a HR manager in a leading
organisation which was evaluated through a checking tool SMART. The result was excellent
and reflected that the targets can be achieved.
CONCLUSION
In the present report I have done my personal evaluation as I want to a HR manager in a
leading organisation by the end of this year. For this I made efforts for improving my personal
skills and academic skills. I made my command over English language as this the most common
language spoken in the country.
