INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are the combination of the habits of the study, and the various strategies of
learning, and the time management tools. This helps to gain the knowledge and learn to absorb
the lesson of the academic skills (Almazova, Andreeva and Khalyapina, 2018). Academic skills
encourage the students to perform more efficiently, that includes the critical thinking and taking
the notes, therefore this helps in gaining the success in the career of students as well as any
knowledge seeker. Moreover, this gives the confidence to the students to perform efficiently and
can face every challenges, and resolve their problem with the help of their various skills.

TASK 1
Assess your own strengths and weaknesses.
Learning skills refers to the term that evaluate the tasks that related to learning, this
includes time management, making notes and effectively reading in the classes, although this
also helps to bring knowledge from across the world. This also helps to enhance the knowledge,
and make the people capable to face every challenge, and keep a better reflect of a good direction
and path to each individual.
Strength and weakness- I have believe that life is fully depend on the learning
experience and after someone is being able to recognise the strength and weaknesses. This helps
everyone to a better individual in every field of work. Apart from this my greatest strength is
analyses of work during its processing along with this I also felt that I am very organised person.
Whatever I am writing on the paper, giving priority that what is more important first then
accordingly, organise my work and get it done on time. Although, when the question is about
weakness, one of my major weakness is communication skills, realising sometime that I am
getting nervous in front of any group or in college seminars.
Academic skills
Academic skills-It reflects combination of how to study, what are the habits of study and
also this includes the strategies that have adopted during studies. In order of productive learning
there are various skills that has been required such as time management, note taking during the
classes, concentration, memorizing the topics and also got habitual during public speaking skills.

Generally, I believe in the cognitive learning, in spite of just learning and from the observing
things in the repetitive way. Cognitive techniques help me as a student me as student in the
process to analyse the data and help to remember the information during learning in the classes.
Academic English language skills
Academic English language skills- as the academic English language is all about how a
person express their relationship in between the ideas. So sometimes this is more complex things
for me for using everyday English and precise this as in simple way
Long term target and short term target and how targets achieved
Setting the short-term target helps the person to think through the goals this can help to
easily track and implement the targets. But smart targets need the person to know exactly what
will be the future step for the person and will guide step by step (Czabanowska, 2019). These
targets help in the following reasons. This also finds a better way in the self-improvement of the
person.
Improve the listening skills- after the discussion and own assessment, the person has to set the
target for improving their listening skills. Because listening more peoples can help the individual
to know the opinions of everyone. This step really matters in achieving the smart short-term
targets.
Speak to increase viability- setting the personal target to enhance the visibility that is
something beneficial for the individual. This helps to make plan before every meeting have
agenda and helps to prepare the meaningful targets and goals.
Specific The specific goals is to enhance the learning skills and get employability into
the well reputed organisation.
measurable The measurable goals is to measure the ability of own then, accordingly get
focused into the learning. Like which type of learning is feasible for the
future purpose.
Achievable The achievable goal is to achieving in short time that is improving my
communication skills, so that I can perform well in the interviews.
Realistic In this goals the individual have to achieve the goals to enhance their
academic skills as well as learning skills.

There are the many things going during the class. So, may everything will not be captured
perfectly. The good note taking best part includes that individual can go back with their notes
after the class. This helps to check the clarity and fill the space if any place is missing. This will
get to determine the person what is the most important and what the individual do first. There are
following skills can help in note taking and helps to enhance the individual skills.
Using active listening skills
Active listening skills- in the improvement of individual note taking skills, the person
must have to follow the ability to their listening skills. This will really helpful during the class
time. When the individual is get focused on note taking during the classes. Listening actively
helps in paying the attention for getting the information that is being conveyed by anyone. After
the active learning skills reading strategies are the most required skills in the academic
development the reading strategies is as follows-
Preview- if the individual want to gain insight from the academic texts, the person has to
start the reading the context. Although, the best part is scanning the information can give the
basic idea for the context the person is reading is useful for their further study or this will be

worthless (Fauquet-Alekhine, 2020). If the notes is made by this way this will make sure that,
this will work 100 percent for gaining the insight knowledge of the learning topic and helps to
memorise the each and every topic.
Using reading strategies
Read- in the process of reading the academic texts, the person has their pen and pencil in
their hand and will highlight the key concept. This is also an important part of the note taking
because this helps individually to memorise each and every topic that what are the VIP questions
that will learn further and important in learning.
Summarize- after the process of reading, make sure and give the time in making the short
summary. This helps to understand the topic and gives reviews about the topic. This helps to
summarize the information in an appropriate manner. Summarize the topic is only get helpful
after the note taking, because note taking is helpful in summarize the topic well.
Review- this will always help in the quick review and also this helps in the quick
refresher. Although, this is a good idea to recognise the main points and reviewing summaries
that have written. Also the written reviews is much feasible because they are in the written forms
they help to get analyse the topic and reviews very well.
Paraphrased and summarised information
The information is about the note taking skills, this note taking skills helps to preview and
summarise the topic. Because note taking can help in the quick reviews of the topic, this also
helps to giving the insight knowledge of the particular topics (Galskova, Komochkina and
Selezneva, 2020). Because these are in the written forms, so this is easy to analyse the topic for
the learner and helps to enhance their academic skills as well as learning skills.
As for note taking there are many strategies that are helpful like- review, summarize, read
, preview and so on. These techniques is really helpful for in notes taking because without the
help of these things. The note taking process will not useful, because these are the important
factors, that is being analysed in the note taking process (Guth, 2020). Because as we know the
note taking is also an art, everyone is taking notes but there are few notes can help in clearing all
the doubt of the particular topics. If few of the topic is unable to understand well, the effective
notes can solve the problem in a proper way.

Internet communications- internet communication helps the learner or job seeker to gain
various different types of knowledge through internet communication and from the social media
sites, the job seeker can get the knowledge easily from everywhere, that now a days what is in
the trend and which company is hiring now a days (Hundarenko, 2019). After doing which
course the job seeker can easily get the job
Surveys- market surveys is also important in finding the job and company is demanding
what types of candidates in their company. For finding the suitable candidates within the
company.
Feedbacks- feedbacks from the experience holders, the one who knows the terms and
condition of getting the job in the reputed company, can easily make the person understand the

Personal skills
I have spent lots of time in thinking, that what things I have gained in improving myself.
Moreover, being a student in order to improve myself, I have developed the strength and

confidence, such as communication skills, effective learning, and believe in doing the teamwork.
This also have given the confidence about my verbal communication and get a better experience
in literacy skills. Because this is very important for achieving my targets, in order to improve my
learning skills also there are some personal skills is needed to develop for future targets.

After analysing what actually the problem is, I have started to believe in myself and more
inspired, by setting the time bound targets and thinking about the results moreover, get
concerned about the concept of theory what means to me, how this relate to my interpretation of
the course and how use the concept and theory for further understanding. Some of these things I
have identified in my self-improvement (Little, Lonigan, and Phillips, 2020). Because academic
skills is the most important step of the target for improving itself and getting experience in future
from the professor as well as the colleagues. They have better experience of how the academic
skills will be develop, they can give the better suggestion,
Personal development plans
It help me to set the goals, firstly finds the short terms and long terms targets that have to
be achieved in the future. This helps further to prioritise those goals, and helps to make the plan
that how can achieve the targeted goals, and gives a way to plan accordingly, then I will make
the decision further that what will be the next step in order to gaining myself. Although, this will
help to upgrade me to set the deadlines that what will have to achieve (Pontius and McIntosh
2020). As well as personal development plans helps to develop the skills and enhance the
knowledge of the individual.
Action plan
This process is the primary tools for developing the students in an effective way and
helps to perform me efficiently to achieve the target properly and helps in setting the standard
objectives. First of all, student have to properly align the instruction that has been given to
learning and performs in a better way. The action plan gives me a proper guideline to how the
targets can achieve in a proper manner. Here is some process of making the action plan for
achieving the targeted goals
