INTRODUCTION
In relation with academic skills they are defined as a collection of certain strategies as
well as learning habits with respect to time management tool that help all learners to learn and
gain efficient level of knowledge. In context with personal and professional development plan it
refers to the concept of managing an individual growth level along with the career. It is very
much crucial for a person to learn and enhance all abilities on continuous basis in order to assure
proper work safety and development in both legal as well as efficient manner (Aliu, Aigbavbo
and Thwala, 2021).It also relates to a continuous professional development. The report involves
the concept of both professional and personal development, value of medium, short, long term
and personal development plan. It also includes the discussion in relation with how author,
purpose, relevance and ability affect the source, evaluation of sources followed by conclusion.
The report is based on academic skills of a learner.
TASK 1
Personal as well as professional development
Personal development is in relation with those activities which help in enhancing and
developing the potential level of an individual, employability and at the same point of time
making improvements in context with the quality of life. It generally occurs across the whole life
of an individual. The main goal of personal and professional development is to offer individual
different kinds of opportunities and help then in managing their growth level and enhance the
career aspects. It is crucial for every person to gain knowledge and develop the abilities so that
better efficiency can be built up. There are various ways through which personal and
professional development of an individual can be managed. It is further been explained as
below:-
Clear goal about what is needed to achieve:- The moment an individual plans about their
goals and targets it becomes easy for them to manage overall development process.
Determining and taking correct opportunities:- In terms of efficient level of training it is
not just about gaining knowledge but it is also needed to find out various opportunities
which could involve the usage of overall information, familiarity as well as certain
abilities which helps in gathering right opportunities for all persons ( Burke, 2021).
Short term goals with examples
In accordance with short term goals they are defined as those goals and objectives which
can be achieved by a person in their coming future .They are mainly in relation with that concept
in which individuals would like to achieve their targets very soon. There are some examples of
having short term goals which is been defined as below:-
Communicating with other workers in context with developing communication skills
Enhancement of individual’s performance in numbers

Medium term goals with examples
Medium term goals refer to two objectives which take limited period of time to achieve.
It can be fulfilled even in weeks or in months also. These type of objectives provides efficient
skills and abilities and at the same point of time lead to development of individuals. They are
considered as those goals in which many objectives are planned during the phase of career and
also during the lifespan period of time ( McKenna, Baxter and Hainey, 2017). There are certain
examples which are defined as below:-
Thinking about time line and also managing the risk to enhance the level of development.
Assuring the care of persons saving along with having money to deal with emergency
situations.
Long term goals including examples
Long term goals are defined as those aims which a person wants to fulfill in their coming
future and in accordance with these objectives proper planning and time is required. They
provide proper guidance to everyday life which is considered as a beneficial method to make
proper decisions ( Alnaggar, Gzara and Bookbinder, 2021). In context with its examples it is
defined as below:-
Becoming leader of enhanced skills and abilities through personal and professional
development.
Long term deals in determining and building up career of individual’s choice which they
want to carry forward.
Value of personal development plan
Personal development plan is considered as an individual development plan which
involves a statement of person ambitions, level of education and training. Besides this, certain
