INTRODUCTION
Personal Development Plan is an ongoing process of a person in which an action plan is
created based on values, planning, awareness, goal setting for personal development within the
context of self-improvement, education, career or relationship (Alarcon Jr, Ibabao and Loredo,
2018). The aim of this report is to understand the significance of personal development plan in
one's life which is consists with three goals that are short-term, medium term and long-term
goals. A PDP is also created which is based on three goals of a person.

Personal and professional development plan is a framework in which an organization and
a person engage in a process of learning in order to meet the targeted goals and challenges. This
process aims to enhance and boost the capabilities of employees through access to learning and
training opportunities in the company, so that a person can achieve its three goals of life as well
as to improve the current performance. It can be also understood as a development of skills,
knowledge and learning of a person to grab more opportunities for career and better future. It is
a never ending process which lasts very long till its achieved. It is concerned with learning
anything in life which can be also beneficial in a professional life that means to boost the
productivity for the company and performance which helps to achieve goals and objectives.
Increase in duties and responsibilities, job activities and so on, are examples of professional
development.

Short-term goals are the goals which can be achieved in the near future which means it
can be achieved today, within a week, month but within one year. It helps a person to think what
he can do right away. It helps to manage time, these seems small and short but they are the
foundation of big accomplishments in the life and career (Greene, 2018). The main purpose of
setting short-term goals is to further success and give a base to long term objectives. These goals
are easy to get and it is important for both company and an individual. It also provides a self-
motivation to improve the performance.
