Introduction
Academic skills refers to the the skills and talent of students the benefits then in their
academic learning such as learning, research, presentation and report writing. It also includes
communication, analysis, planning social, test taking, technical skills, etc. It is important for the
students to develop these skills in order to make sure that they are continuously developing the
skills which can help them in their academic as well as professional career(Aurangzeb, W., &
Akhtar, N. (2019)). It will help the individual in developing a skills set which is helpful for the
overall personality of the individual. The report is constituted in four different tasks which are
needed to be addressed effectively. In this report, the skills of time management development is
provided along with resources and reflection of skills which are needed to develop the skills. The
report also covers the literature of searching, note taking and evaluating the skills which are
developed. At the end of the report, avoiding plagiarism and referencing techniques is provided
accordingly.
Task 1 time management
Time management skill is an important skill which helps the individual in developing a plan
through which they can complete their tasks within time limit and without missing any
deadline.it requires proper planing of the tasks, prioritizing the tasks so that important tasks as
well as limited deadline tasks can be completed firstly, creating a setting boundaries for the tasks
assigned, delegating and outsourcing the tasks efficiently and building an efficient system which
can help the students in managing their time according to their schedule (Agarwal, B. (2019)) .
Time management does not only include providing time to work related commitments or
assignments but to provide efficient time to family, friends or recreations as well. The time table
is provided below:

Pornodoro technique is a time management technique which helps the students in
developing skills by working with the time that they actually have rather than working against
the time. According to the method, the student must break their working time into 25 minutes of
working along with 5 minutes of break. After about working on 4 to 5 Pornodoro the student
may take a long break of about 15 to 20 minutes.
Gibb’s model of reflection
 Description: It refers to the description of the situation which can will help me in
determining step by step analysis of the situation in which I had experience (Reyneke, Y.,
Shuttleworth, C. C., & Visagie, R. G. (2021)). It is important for me to develop these
description of the situation so that I can make sure that I remember the situation well even
after some time is passed along with the details.
 Feelings: it refers to the feelings that I have felt in that situation. It will help me developing
my understanding about the feelings that I have experiences as well as the thoughts that
came into my mind. I am making sure that I have developed my understanding about my
thoughts as well.
 Evaluation: it refers to the evaluation of the feelings as well as situation in terms of both
good and bad. It will help me in analysing what went well in the situation and what could
have been better in the situation. It is important for me to determine what me and the other
person contributed in the situation.
 Analysis: it refers to the stage where the actual sense of the situation is analysed. It refers to
the situation in which the individual has to think about why things go well and why things
didn’t go well (Uzun, A. M., & Kilis, S. (2020)). I need to make sure that I am analyzing
what is the knowledge that I have gained throughout the situation.

 Conclusion: it refers to the stage where the I have to analyse my knowledge and try to
evaluate what I have learn from the situation. I have to think about the factors through which
the end result could have been much better and the skills that I have to develop in order to
make the situation better if occur again.
 Action plan: it refers to the plan through which I can determine what will be my reaction if
similar situation arises again. It will help me in developing the skills that I require in this
types of situations so that I can make the end result of the situation even better than this
time.
Task 2 resource and reflection

Google scholar : The major advantage of google scholar is that I will be able to use the search
for the patent and peer reviewed articles related to my specific topic (Albluwi, I. (2019)). I will
be able to research about information with the help of UAF Rasmusan Library databases which
helped me in finding full articles under one research point which is easy as well as completely
related to the topics of my research. It will help me in providing authentic information about
topics and will also provide me appropriate references for citations as well.
Library : It refers to the actual physical library which helped me in having information under
one roof. I will be able to find newspapers, articles and books which can helped me in my
research. It provided additional knowledge about other topics as well. It is considered to be one
of the major source of collecting information before internet. It is a silent place which helped me
in increasing my concentration as well.
Grammerly : It is a tool which helped me in my assignments final submission. It helped me in
identifying my grammatical errors in my document (Stoddard, K. (2020)). It will also helped me
in upgrading the quality of my language in the document which helped me in gaining knowledge
and information as well. Grammerly is an important application which can help students in
improving their grammatical errors as well as grammer knowledge.
Online journals : Online journals helped me in gaining knowledge about the topics which are
according the topics of my research. It is important for me to make sure that I am gathering
authentic information about my topics and is including information with proper citations. Online

journals also helped me in gathering latest information about the topics which includes any
changes made I recent years.
Reflection
Writing skills : It refers to the skills which help the students in writing their assignments in
correct and professional knowledge along with proper structure. All these things matter a lot
while doing assignments (. Ohno, A., Yamasaki, T., & Tokiwa, K. I. (2020)). It will help me in
achieving better grades for assignments as with the help of proper structure as I will be able to
include proper information as well. It is extremely important to make sure that written
information that I have provided in my reports and assignments are true and fare.
Referencing skills: It refers to the skills through which I will be able to proper clear and
authentic references to the information I have collected through various platforms and resources.
While doing a research it is one of the most important task that is needed to be done in order to
save the assignments from allegations of plagiarism and academic misconduct. It will help in
providing the actual name of author from whose study the information is collected for the
assignment and will help in providing proper credit to the actual owner of the information.
Researching skills : it is one of the most important skill that I have developed while working on
my study (Carter, M. T., & Jones, E. H. (2019)). The researching skills that I have developed
has helped me in having true and fare information about the topics and also helped me in
identifying what is actual and resourceful information as well as what is waste and is not needed
to be included in the study. It will be beneficial for me to develop my research skills as it will
also help me in my future professional life as well.
Summarising skill : it helped me in developing my summarizing skills as I was able to research
about several topics but I was unable to summarize them in a single topic so that I can create a
full document but this skill after I developed it I was able to summarize my research in a single
document with correct structure as well. It will help me in my future as these skills are essential
for the research and development processes.

Plagiarism
Concept
The work plagiarism comes from a Latin word plagiarius which is refers to kidnap. It refers to an
act of using someone else work under own name and without providing proper citation for that as
well. It is a punishable offence and must not be conducted by any one as they may have to face
legal charges as well (Denisova-Schmidt, E. (2019). Using true and fare information and
providing proper credit is one of the most important aspect of making or submitting the work.
The credibility and trust of students may get affected if they are using plagiarism in their reports
and assignment.
There are several types of plagiarism which is needed to be considered by the students as well as
professional.use of quotations marks and provided authentic references along with proper
citations will not come under an act of plagiarism. Plagiarism not only applicable on the written
documents but are also applicable on stealing intellectual property like music, images, videos,
and even choreography of a dance (Memon, A. R., & Mavrinac, M. (2020)). It is a criminal
offence so it is extremely important for the students to make sure that they are not deliberately
nor accidentally keeping any plagiarism in their work and their are applications which can help
them in checking plagiarism percentage in their document which will help them in avoiding
some of the information and will also help them in avoiding plagiarism with the help of
paraphrasing.
Types of plagiarism
There are several types of plagiarism and some of them are give below:
 Direct plagiarism: it refers to the plagiarism which is a direct replication of someone else
work. It is a type of plagiarism in which the matter contained in the report is directly opted
from someone else work without providing proper citations to the work or without providing
proper credit to the actual owner of the information or research. It is considered to be a
severe crime and is eligible for legal punishment.
 Mosaic plagiarism: it is an unintentional type of plagiarism where the student provide exact
citations of the information but forget to put quotation mark on the actual written

information and is termed as an offence. It is liable for the punishments whether done
intentionally or unintentionally. If the researcher uses internet to have information about the
topic then they must know how to provide quotation marks to the information.
 Accidental plagiarism: it refers to the plagiarism which is done accidentally and their was
no intention of the researcher to use someone else information (Hussien & et. al., (2019,
November)). If the student is able to provide authentic reason for omission then they may
avoid punishment otherwise they have to face similar punishments as in case of direct
plagiarism.
 Self plagiarism: it refers to the type of plagiarism where a person plagiarize their own work
for two or more researches and are omitted or are not willing to provide appropriate
references. It is a common type of plagiarism where high school students copy and paste
their own work from any previous project or assignments. It is important to provide a
lifelong lesson to those students by providing them appropriate punishment.
 Paraphrasing plagiarism: it is important for the students to make sure that they are not
with the help of paraphrasing using someone else work under the name of their own (Coffey,
S., Anyinam, C., & Zitzelsberger, H. (2018)). Students always think that they may not get
caught for plagiarism if they paraphrase the information as it will not be considered as
plagiarism but in case of paraphrasing as well the students are liable for strict punishment.
Importance of avoidance
It is important for the students to avoid plagiarism as it is a criminal offence and the students will
be liable for severe punishment both from the side of institution as well as from the side of law.
It is important for the students to make sure that they are not using plagiarism as it may impact
the credibility of the students as well as the trust that teachers have on their students (White, A.
(2020)). It is also important for the universities as well to make sure that they are not avoiding
any case of plagiarism as it may impact the credibility of the degree as well as will demotivate
other hardworking students to give their 100% in their assignment as no punishment is there for
students who are using plagiarism. It is important for the students to make sure that they are
working according to the rule sand norms of the universities or institutions and are avoiding
plagiarism in order to complete their work.

Conclusion
From the above report it is concluded that in order to gain appropriate knowledge and
understandings about the learning, it is important for the individual to make sure that they are
taking support of reflective learning. In order to complete the tasks provided, it is important for
the individual to develop a skill set which can help them in their professional as well as personal
development. If an individual is continuously working on their skill set then they will be able to
have growth and success in their career prospects. Plagiarism information is provided in the
report which will help students in avoiding plagiarism and will make sure that the students are
working without any misconduct and with fuller academic integrity.
