INTRODUCTION
Academic skills is defined as a core skills of human in which it includes presentations
skills, referencing, academic writing and it also includes reflective practice and critical thinking.
This report help to define and describe personal and professional development and long term,
medium term and short term goals with various examples. It will also describe how author,
purpose, source, reliability and relevance affect source and in the end it will evaluate eight
sources in the report plan.
MAIN BODY
Task One
1.Personal and Professional Development
Effective personal and professional development help people to update their skills and
knowledge. It also assists them in their careers. Personal and professional development brief
explanation is as follows,
Professional Development: In this kind of development people develop their skills and
knowledge for their job (Bradley, 2020). They update their skills to improve their work
performance and to do their project or task effectively. Professional development help peoples in
their career and always hive them the highest possible level. Some example of professional
development are health and safety, IT training, Accountancy and budgeting and legal knowledge
or expertise. People can get these know by different sources such classroom based learning,
learning, training and development in the organization, mentoring and more.
Personal development: It is life long process which help individual to upgrade their self
according to environment. It is assists people to develop their skills and qualities which help to
achieve their goals in life. Personal development also beneficial for people to overcome their
distractions and help to do their work effectively. It also assists people to make better human
being. Some examples of personal development which include listen actively, stop
procrastination, be confident etc.
2.Short-Term Goals
It is something that people want to achieve in minimum time or as soon as they can. Short
term goals is something that people want to complete in as soon as they can and these goals help
to start their long term or medium term goals. It also affects their medium term and long term
goals (Holzweiss, and Parrott, 2017). It helps people to create good and effective habits and it
