INTRODUCTION
Personal development is a procedure through which an individual can improve their skills
and knowledge in order to survive in the Competitive environment whereas professional
development includes maintain the professional credentials like attending conferences, informal
learning and academic degrees to formal coursework (Hammersley-Fletcher, Schostak and
Darwish, 2020). The project includes the personal and professional development concept
including the value of short term goals medium term goals, long term goals and PDP Plan.
TASK 1
Concept of Personal and Professional Development
Personal development includes the factors which help in improving the potential and
capabilities of an individual, facilitate employability, increase quality of life and build human
capital (Lopes and Calapez, 2021). Personal development is considered as one of the important
change which must be adopted by an employee so that they can achieve their personal as well as
organisational goals. The Changes includes improvement in skills, knowledge, abilities,
capabilities, performance and efficiency in order to fulfil the dreams and accomplish the
objectives (Passmore and Crabbe, 2020). Through personal development an individual can
develop their inner self as well as outer self. Professional development includes the certification,
education and training that is required to employee so that they can succeed in their Career
(Mayer, 2020). It is necessary for the employees to develop their professional skills and
knowledge by becoming more productive and efficient.
Value of Short term goals
Short term goals generally mean to achieve the things in near future it could be today,
week, months and a year. The Short term goals includes time period of One year. The Short term
goal as an individual is to increase productivity, work on communication skills and learn new set
of skills (Gabitova, Shayakhmetova and Beisembayeva, 2018).
Value of Medium term Goals
Medium term goals requires a longer time as compare to short term goals. The medium
term goal is to develop leadership skills, improve decision making and become emotionally
intelligent (Sleiman and A Sayah, 2018).

Long term goals require a huge time and planning to accomplish, it cannot be possible to
