INTRODUCTION
This report addresses the key points and areas and defines the personal Development Plan
which is referred as the skills and the abilities that an individual is capable of learning and along
with those skills a person is able to achieve its goals by making different strategies along with
the resources used and within a specified time horizon.
MAIN BODY
Concept of personal and professional development
Personal development is also known as self – development or personal growth. Personal
development is the process which takes place during the whole lifespan (Hildebrand, 2018).
Personal development involves mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth in an
individual's life.
Professional development is defined as the process of training and education of an
individual during the whole lifespan. It is based on the education and knowledge that an
individual acquires during his life.
Value of short – term goals
Short – term goals are defined as the goals that are only for a short period of time and are
accomplished in short – time interval. This goal is achieved within a specific and quick time
frame which is less than a year (Steca, Monzani, Greco and et.al., 2016).
Three personal examples of short – term goals are as follows -
Punctuality – My first and foremost short - term goal is to be punctual and be on time at every
work.
Explore – My second short – term goal defines to explore anything new each day which will
help me to be more creative.
Communication – My third short – term goal is to enhance more of my communication in my
professional career so that I can effectively keep my points of say.

Value of medium – term goals -
Medium - term goals are defined as goals which are to be achieved in 1 to 5 years. This
goal helps to achieve the work within sufficient time frame and the target is achieved with all
necessary aspects.
Three personal examples of medium – term goals are as follows -
Career – My first and foremost medium – term goal is to build a stable career so that I am able
to afford my expenses.
House – My second medium – term goal is to build a house of my own so that I can live happily
ever after.
Trip – My third medium – term goal is to go on my dream trip that is Paris so that I feel joyed
and relaxed.
Value of long – term goals -
Long – term goals are defined as the goal;s that are to accomplished in the future. These
goals are for more than 5 years. Long term goals require time and planning which are dependent
on the objectives of an individual (Henry, 2020).
Three personal examples of long – term goals are as follows -
Mindfulness – My first and foremost long – term goal is to practice mindfulness so that I remain
mentally healthy.
Save Money – My second long - term goal is to save money so that I am able to achieve my
financial stability.
Healthy life – My third long – term goal is to have a healthy life so that I remain fit till the years
I live my life.
Value of a Personal Development Plan -
Personal Development Planning is defined as the structured process which helps to create
an action plan for growth, self – improvement and development (Khan, 2018). The personal
development plan consist of the goals that are short – term, medium - term and long – term
along with strategies that are used to accomplish the goal with all the resources that are to be
required in the process and time within which the goals will be achieved (Rimmer, 2018).
