Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
Personal and Professional Development refers to the use of different types of methods and
techniques which can be quite helpful in ensuring that a particular person is able to enhance
the skills and competencies quite effectively and efficiently in a right way. In this way, the
management of the own skills and competencies can be done in a better way and the
attainment of the future goals and objectives can be done.
Description and discussion of the value of short term goals

There is a value of ensuring that a person is able to set short-term goals because these goals
help a lot in ensuring that a person is able to work in the right manner to attain them within a
short period of time. The short-term goals which I will set for my future development are as
follows-
Improving Time Management Skills- Through bringing an improvement in Time
Management Skills because through making a use of these skills the time can be
managed in a better manner.
Improving Communication Skills- Through bringing an improvement in
Communication Skills it is quite important that the management of the work can be
done in a right way.
Improving Problem-Solving Skills- Through bringing an improvement in Problem-
Solving Skills a person can make sure that the various types of problems can be
solved in a proper manner. Therefore, in this way the identification of the problems
can be done and they can be solved quite effectively and efficiently.

There is a value of discussing the value of medium-term goals because through setting these
goals a person can make sure that the work can be managed in a right way so that these goals
are attained. The medium-term goals which I will set for my future development are as
follows-
Improving Productivity & Organization skills- By bringing an improvement in
these skills a person will be able to make sure that an enhancement in these skills can
be done which can be quite helpful in attaining future goals and objectives.
Critical thinking skills- Through bringing an improvement in these skills a person
can ensure that the right decisions can be taken in a proper manner. This will thus
help in the future.
Adaptability skills- By improving these skills a person can ensure that the adaptation
to the different types of circumstances can be made. This will be quite helpful in the
future.

It is important that the long-term goals are set so that a person can target long-term
development in the future in a right way effectively and efficiently. The long-term goals
which I can use in the future are as follows-
Improvement in software skills- Improving these skills will be helpful in ensuring
that the use of software can be made in a better manner.
Improvement in the use of tools- Improving the way in which the use of tools is
required to be made will be quite helpful in ensuring that tools are used quite
effectively and efficiently in a right manner.
Improvement in the use of Accounting & Bookkeeping- Bringing an improvement
here will be helpful in ensuring that the management of the work related with the
financial data, facts and information can be done in a better way which will be quite
useful in the future.

The value of a Personal Development Plan is there because by setting goals and
objectives in the future a person can make sure that the better management of work can be
done in a right way in the future. It is quite important that the preparation of a Personal
Development Plan is carried out because of the following reasons-
Identification of scope in the future- Through the preparation of a PDP the
identification of scope in the future can be done which will be quite helpful in
ensuring that the overall development in the future can be done highly effectively and
efficiently. Therefore, I want to identify the scope in the future so that I can enhance
my skills and competencies and can bring the required level of improvement in
myself effectively and efficiently.
Attainment of the goals and objectives- By preparing a PDP the overall goals and
objectives can be attained in the future in the right manner. It will thus help a lot in
ensuring that the better management of the work can be carried out which will be
highly essential in the future and can thus help a lot in managing the particular needs
and requirements in a better way.
Thus, in this way it is highly crucial for me that I am able to prepare a PDP which will
help me in developing myself in a right way for the future. Therefore, I have to make
sure that through its preparation I am able to manage the particular needs and
requirements related with my Academic Career in a proper manner which will help
me a lot in the future in my professional life.
