Introduction
Academic skills play a significant role in the life of students as because of the skills they
are only able to achieve their set targets of life in an effective manner (Varas, 2021). It is
important for every individual to focus on their academic skills so that they can satisfy their
future desires. The report discussed personal and professional development with respect to short,
medium and long term goals and personal development plan.
Task one
Personal and professional development
Personal development plans means such plants which help in the life of students as it can
be used in order to rule them in life (Alaimo and Maggino, 2020). The professional development
plan can be used to analyse their ultimate goal with context to what they want to become in
future so that they can choose their job role accordingly. It is important for the students to
develop their personal and professional skills as these both are very supportive in order to attain
the ultimate target of life.
Short goals
Short term goals are some of the goals which can be determined at the earliest stage as it
is used in order to attain the long term targets. At this stage the students use to determine their
strengths and weaknesses in order to analyse what all skills are required to achieve their ultimate
goal and to overcome the weaknesses they develop such techniques (Cheshmehzangi and
Dawodu, 2019). For example: communication skills, Academic skills.
Medium term goals
It is important for the students to fill the gap between the short-term and long-term goals
and for this they have to determine their medium term goals (Avrampou and et. al., 2019). At
this stage the students used to determine about the adopted techniques whether they are working
properly or not, if not, what skills and other tools are required by the students to achieve their
ultimate goals (Prashar, 2020). For example, students can set their medium term goal as a part
time job which helps them to save money.

Long term goals
It is the ultimate target for which the individual has determined the short term and
medium term goals. These types of goals require lots of time and strategies as they cannot be
attained in a shorter period of time (Dzwigol, Dzwigol-Barosz and Kwilinski, 2020). It is
important for every individual to analyse their long-term goals as it helps them to satisfy their
ultimate needs and wants. For example: start up a business organization.

Personal development plan
The personal development plan refers to an action plan which can be determined by the
student so that they can examine themselves. This is a very useful plan which must be adopted
by every student so that they can analyse their present stage and what all things are required to be
developed in them so that they can achieve their long-term goals of life (Hilty and et. al., 2019).
It is also used in order to determine the loopholes which are present in the students and also
helpful in analysing the strategies so that the students can overcome them.

Task two
Describe and discuss how author purpose reliability and relevance will affect the use of
source the articles helps in determining the credibility.
 Currency: The subject matter which is explained in the report.
 Relevancy: It is talks about the relevancy of the report with respect to this assignment.
